Quote from tristancliffe :I am completely aware of the steel internals. If its too dangerous for them they can go and do something else. I still think F1 drivers a wimps. Except Webber and Kimi.

Coulthard changed his tune, I remember at the '05 Indianapolis GP he said he'd race even with the Michelin issue anyway and said danger is PART of F1 but these days when commentating he sounds like my dad.

Quote from tristancliffe :

And no. No mod exists that justifies its 'success'.

Definitely not but the gmotor engine is a decent base and should not be labeled alongside Dirt IMO

Racing, F1 especially, is about pushing the limits of everything available. You can't place blame on the teams. They're just doing what they have always done, and will always do.

Quote from tristancliffe :This is why I don't trust people's opinions of racing sims. It's why shite like rfactor, iRacing and dirt are allowed to exist. People believe such rubbish about sims - good handling is a sign of good physics, it's too easy to be to be realistic, it's too hard to be realistic, the colours are wrong so it must have bad physics...

And racing drivers (that aren't or haven't been sim maniacs) are even worse. Never EVER trust a racing game with a positive soundbite from a famous driver. Particularly if they're American.

rFactor alone is horrible, but the physics aren't complete shite. With the right mod it can feel half decent. It's almost like ISI made it for modding, and just made the shittest series possible.

Such as GameStockCar or Fórmula Truck, runs on the gmotor engine, aside from the UI and other things, you wouldn't notice it was the gmotor engine at all.

Quote from amp88 :Running the tyres outside the recommended guidelines (for pressure + camber) and on the wrong side of the car doesn't count as abuse?

Well when they've been doing it for years. No.

I very much doubt teams were putting the rear tyres on asymmetrically. Pirelli have since retracted 'blaming' the teams for that anyway. So go figure.

Well yea, have the guys in top ten locked in to having the q tyre, and those beyond with free tyre option.

You won't get a strategy if you remove two compound rule and the grid lock system as you'll just get q tyres in q and r tyres in r......

I admired Pirelli in the beginning for knowingly making shitty tyres even though to the general idiots would give Pirelli a bad rep. They gave the sport what it was asking for.

Now though, the tyres have gotten to be a joke, and they won't take blame for it?

What they should do is just have a soft tyre that's quicker by multiple seconds a lap but only lasts a few laps. Then the hard tyre is majorly slower but lasts alot longer. There's not enough of a difference in the tyre compounds... What's the point having two different compounds if they're always within a second of each other.... doesn't make sense to me.

Quote from englishlord :http://www.gp2series.com/News- ... ns-and-glamour-of-Monaco/ I just typed "gp2 tyres" and this was first on the list, proper detective work that.

I couldn't find a bit where it specified they were the same as F1 tyres or not, it only said the compounds used were the same..

Quote from DeadWolfBones :Given that they were all left rear tires and 4 of 5 were at the same point on the track, I'm guessing it was indeed a curb that was at fault. But I guess we'll have to see what happens this week.

Quote from NotAnIllusion :You said you know, so link it please.

Can't find one actually but I didn't say I knew, I just said "they don't" as a remark relating to the lolfest that was todays F1 race as if to say "they can't possibly be the same because it doesn't make sense given what has been seen today."

Maybe they could be the same tyre but due to F1's higher stress into the carcass of the tyre it was causing the failures because like I said, GP2 didn't have an issue.

Well if they did they would have had the same problems as F1.

If there is any series that will use the extreme edges of a track, and parts of a circuit that never were supposed to see a race car. It's GP2

You could just believe me because it makes sense but maybe that's too difficult.

Quote from Bose321 :Nothing special about that.

Most Russian people drive like that.

That's the scary truth of it...

Rule #1 of a Russian accident, make sure you take as many people with you, and cause as much collateral damage as humanly possible.

This guy completely rocked Rule #1

They don't.

It's clearly the construction that is an issue. The kerbs are no different from last year and they've not had this problem before and there were no related issues in GP2 or other support series.

It might be the kerb that is causing the tyre to die, but ultimately it's the weakness of the tyre that is the issue, not the kerbs.

BTW. I said Vettel would retire, really should have put money on that

Quote from Mysho :Poor Engstler again hit stupid driver of recovery car ilogically driving on track while green flag.

Something very similar to Pau 2009 and Safety car crash. He has bad luck on these idiots.

FFS why does this shit always happen to Engstler...

The problem isn't the event, or the majority. It's around 5 or so people that cause wrecks in every 500 they attend.
