Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :Is it worth buying the Lotus 49?

Not when it handles like junk and it's on Assetto Corsa handling as it should, no.

Well I find it ironic how the L49 is polar opposite in behaviour to the L49 on iRacing. People were saying the L49 on iRacing was amazing etc etc. Now those people are saying the L49 on AC is amazing but surely it just shows how wrong iRacing is...

Quote from S3ANPukekoh3 :To be fair Perez really needed to prove himself as a top driver this year and he hasn't done it. It's a tough break but I don't think it's 'unfair' at all. .

He has proved himself. Remember Perez has had multiple issues with the car all season and drove around it. He's out performed Button on many occasion when the car was working fine. Remove the times when he had a puncture or car failure and he'd be matching Button for points more or less.

Quote from atledreier :It's clutch type LSD.

Well back to the drifting aspect, I noticed you have to account for body roll and spring re-extension to really keep sliding momentum from side to side, much more than ever before in a sim. It's most evident in the E92 though.

Well the M3 E30 is open diff is it not? You'd find it hard to do a proper donut or drift in an open diff car....

Quote from TexasLTU :Morons, Perez only needed a competetive car, not a trashbox like they have this year, I'd laugh my arse off if dane would be another Maldonado/Grosjean in 2012 and they'd have even more problems.

I concur.

Quote from tristancliffe :According too BBC, Perez out at McLaren and Magnussen in. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/24903504

I don't think that is fair on Sergio at all. Then again life isn't fair.

The clutch dynamics are gay. So finite to actually get a h-shifter car into gear without waiting around in neutral for days to get it into the gear you want. Seems like you have to lift sufficiently even if the clutch is fully depressed. Seen that problem many time with other sims though.

Lotus would be retarded to put Maldonado in their car. When it actually comes to racing other cars for position other than Grosjean in the beginning where he was just makng errors Maldonado will consciously crash into other cars.

Quote from The Moose :

Just sent ages lapping the KTM at Silverstone. couldn't stop driving. Give the car a more lively setup and it's an absolute pleasure to drive. If all Kunos ever did was add cars and tracks to this i'd still be a happy man just lapping the cars.

+1

As with the TP, it's such a ... immersive sim you almost feel like you could judge the handling of a 458 as if you'd actually drive one, because all of the information you're getting feels entirely realistic.

Quote from tristancliffe :

Sorry, I forgot you'd tried every kerb with every car on every line. I had it happen at Silverstone, both in the Tatuus and in one of the BMWs. But as it hasn't happened to you I guess that means I must be lying. My bad.

You daft utter cock. Have you applied for a new brain, because you haven't had one since you've been on this forum.

Er what? It was simple confusion at the fact i push the track limits quite liberally and never launched my car into the air once. I was asking where/how because I was confused at how this was possible.

So if someone even implies [which I am not in any way] you were lying you go all rogue kb warrior on them? Or what? I don't understand, forgive me and my non existent brain oh great one.

Quote from Töki (HUN) :The king of iR videos, Stabiz moved to AC and hopefully he'll do more fapping materials like this one. 458 is next.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CxukivksF8

Stabiz = Frederik Follestad

To be fair the doors on that E92 look like they open too much. They are like 90 degrees to the car... XD

Also Tristan, what kerbs are you refering to? :S I drive as ragged as Hamilton on Cocaine and I didn't find a kerb that sent me sufficiently into the air..

Quote from KiRmelius :Vans are made to drink in them, and how are you supposed to drink inside this one, if bottles always fall down?

Must be Russian design. Bottles and cans headed for the driver this way.

So you're saying that we should all take you seriously as 'cargame.nl' ?

We should take all pseudonyms literally? I don't understand the relevance.

I will say this : performance is DEFINITELY better in both smoothness and quality compared with the tech demo.

It's £30 pound that you never need to pay again. iRacings total cost is over £300 and thats without the subscription costs.

Fordman I really don't understand how your 'opinion' can differ so much.. It is what it is. Why complain about the fact that they've basically made an early release that people are free to purchase and play whilst they wait for the full release that they will not need to pay for if they've already bought it.

Quote from Fordman :

£30 up front to pi$$ about with an unfinished product on your own, that doesn't even work with SoftTH ( ok poor mans triple display ) but the likes of Race 07, GTR2 etc etc all work perfectly.

Almost all games are unfinished and constantly under development, so this argument is invalid.

Complaining that this is some sort of disadvantage to buy a 30£ game that one can play offline and doesn't have to purchase individual cars and/or tracks and such 30£ payment you never have to make again.

Seriously though, have you been drinking? What you are saying is 110% opposite of the reality.

You don't get a refund, there's no percentage increase on the full release you pay now and you don't have to pay later? It's not a scam. You're just able to hotlap with a few cars on a few tracks instead of sitting on your hands waiting for the full release or jerking it to pictures of Mariah Carey..

Quote from kars19 :I can do mad slides in XRG with 140hp, tyres in normal temp. just by unsetteling the balance of the car, even when using 'realistic' road car setup, with soft suspension, zero ARB in the back, open diff, or soft (25%) clutch type

e30 with 193hp, ~1100-1200kg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWaQZ9rhqrg
I can easily replicate this in LFS (twaek), not so sure about AC

That vid you posted is a 6cylinder motor, the one in AC is only 4 cylinder

Actually it's only 1200kg so to be honest it should be able to hold some kind of slide. I couldn't even get any oversteer in that thing. So definitely something wrong there in the game engine but I still wouldn't go so far as to say you can do a 'mad slide' in a stock E30 though.

Quote from kars19 :Forced to use 900' degrees, can't do mad slides like in LFS, can't custom in car camera, can't hide virtual wheel

You can't hide the wheel but can hide driver arms and fix the wheel but you're not forced to 900 degrees and I don't suppose you'd be able to do mad slides when an E30 only has 240~ hp and weighs about 1500kg [off the top of my head].

I mean you can slide, but not really drift and in road cars this is quite normal behavior really when they're generally leant more towards an open diff setup. Think about it this way, you're more liable to spin out in a stock M3 than you are to hold a 'mad slide'. There's too much weight and not enough power.

I guess all you can do is tweak the settings, max front splitter and harden the rear tyre and anti roll to hell and see if you can what you want out of teh car then.

Quote from troy :Drove a bit of M30 and Lotus 49 and loved it as of yet, feels pretty intuitive meaning I can get into a slide when I want to and make it understeer if that is needed.

Completely agree with this statement, contrary to iRacing the 49 does what you want instead of the opposite.

I tried the KTM X-bow and to be fair that, so far feels like the best car to me.
