Well it doesn't surprise me that I received complaints from them but I never bashed them at any point. Infact I was genuinely respectful of their victory in the GT2 champion also, but you can't please everyone.
Was getting used to looking at the timing alongside watching the race, which was the reason for the awkward silences at some points. Though I did very much enjoy working with Steve, love to do it again.
There's no shame in showing emotions. We're all human.
Tomek was a special character. I'm sure now my post a few months ago about him being a legend in simracing will ring true now although not in the way that I ever wanted. He will be missed by myself and by everyone who knew how talented he really was.
It was sad not to see his name on track and it was sad not to see .nv there either but I too, agree that moving on is the best thing to do in terms of simracing.
So for all of you here that I don't see on track again, I wish you the best of luck in whatever you choose to do from here. Whether it's LFS, iRacing, rFactor1/2 or whether [like me] you're waiting out on AC and will setup shop there.
Whatever peoples opinions, the direction and speed of the wind in the test race yesterday was 100% un-enjoyable and in some way I just want to avoid that, for the benefit of the race as a whole. Only after that test race, alot more people than just I were voicing concerns.
My thoughts about this are based on the fact that everyone I've spoken too does not enjoy driving LFS with wind on [in general] and because the competition isn't really here in LFS anymore, I don't see the point in over-stressing drivers over 24hours of racing in what could well be LFS' last ever proper endurance event. I think everyone of us has earned the right to a fully enjoyable final showdown and believe for that to happen there should be no wind.
Yes or no to wind. Please vote.
EDIT : please lets keep voting to those actually involved in the race.
If he was clean, and started again after 23 years, I'd say that those WERE the actions of someone wanting to end it. Suicidal tendencies aren't that consistent. How many people have ended their lives intentionally for their actions surrounding those events to be completely normal?
After all, to have gotten back into Heroin usage after such a long time would require a massive vulnerability at the time. So he would have had to have been in a pretty bad way mentally to start again. I mean the steps to acquire the drugs would filter out someone who had even the slightest will NOT to start again.
Though don't get me wrong, I'm not disputing the facts that are there.
EDIT : Conspiracy : Fentanyl infected herion manufacturered by US govt to kill off druggies! << DAILY MAIL HEADLINE RIGHT THERE
It's too true that suicide is the easiest way out of any problem. Though you only understand truly this feeling, the closer you get to doing it.
But cmon guys really, nobody would give a shit if he was some hobo who OD'd but the fact he's been on peoples TV and cinema screens apparently makes a big difference.
If the person in question wanted to die why would anyone feel sorry for THEM? Sure feel sorry for loved ones and family, but if that individual WANTED to go, why would anyone pity them?
The extent of mental torment is such that the only way to make the torment stop is to put a permanent end to it and if it's the case in this situation then solace can be taken in knowing the person is suffering no longer.
The guy was either a raging addict, in which case death is almost an inevitability, or he wanted to die, in which case we should just let it be.
Only in rare cases does somebody become a drug addict without their consent. Addiction is something you allow, even if its for just a short enough time to make an impulsive decision. It's up to THAT person to make the change back, and if they're not prepared to do it then most likely death will occur.
Sure there's more behind drug addiction than what others see on the surface but I don't think Töki deserves your insults for it. If anything Töki shows a more deeper understanding than you. It was most likely an induced suicide in which case obviously the person in question WANTED to leave this world.
In regards to the person in question. I know of the guy but I haven't seen enough of his work to be able to consider him a great actor. I only saw him in some comedy stuff.
In regards to IMOL nobody can know what truly happened, all we know is he was driving a Fiat 500 [probably the most unsafe car in the world] and he hit a Volvo [probably one of the safest cars in the world]. If you push paper into a rock, it will crush, no matter what speed you push it. So lets save the judgements for another topic please..
