Come to think of it, I quite like it and I'm going to buy it right now
Thank you for the tip good man

A new forum is up, discussing everything about LFS.
Your team can also have an own section
Check it out, and share it

www.lfs.ziroh.com
www.lfsheaven.moo.no

So tell me, why should I go to your forum, when I already have an account here? Do DEV's post more relevant info on your forum? Is it interconnected with LFS World?

I don't mean to discourage you, but I don't see your point.

Funny how this thread got revived after 3 years

Just a little update for you guys:
- I still play LFS this way (in high priority) since the thread was made without a single issue
- as for the uTorrent comments: uTorrent might cause internet lag, which I don't care about because I don't play online that much. But uTorrent might cause system lags when reading/writing files from/to disk for example
- if you don't give LFS realtime priority, your other processes will be still fine (emails are comming, ICQ works, uTorrent downloads gay porn etc.)

I however one tried this with Half Life 2 and although the game ran smoothly, it didn't react to mouse and kb inputs.

In LFS, running in higher/high priority eliminates system lag (game doesn't stutter, which happened to me even during replays before).

The cost of S2. I don't count my G25 because I bought it to play Solitaire, but found out later that it's quite good for LFS too, where the steering wheel finally comes quite handy.

Arnold Schwarzenegger. Best bodybuilder of his era (possibly all eras), very entertaining movie star and an accomplished politician. I wish I had the drive for success as him...I would break so many hotlap world records :P

Quote from Gabkicks :limit framerates to 30fps also helps. i either record at half framerate, or just screen res to 720p and record full res.

I'm not a pro at this but from my experience with encoding video files for my mobile phone I know that the framerate doesn't influence the final file size (maybe a few % up or down). But bitrate does. Sorry but I'm too lazy to explain this.

I don't study games much at first play. I consume them. I prefer games with a good story over technicalities. Half-life 2 is my alltime favorite game.

Don't ask me why I play LFS.

Beg all you want, it won't have any effect. Scawen has said himself that he has unsubscribed from this thread. I believe that the rest of the team did so as well and I'm considering doing the same. This thread is in it's approx. 20th iteration and leads absolutely nowhere. Enjoy!

I almost fell off of a bridge I didn't see down to a river I didn't expect. Let me tell you that having your rear left wheel dangling in the air will wake you up.

I also had a minor crash with my GF's car. I changed lane before an intersection and when I noticed the red light I slammed on the brakes. The poor guy behind me bumped into me. Although the practice here is that if you are crashed from behind, it's the other guy's fault, but being and imbecile, I took the blame, paid a small fine (the policeman was probably in a good mood), paid for the repairs on my GF's car (bent plastic bumper and ruptured exhaust), nothing major. The funniest part was when my GF's dad was randomly walking by - I hate explaining shit.

Situation:

I have a possibility of buying an iPhone 4 via official Apple Store (online) and have the phone sent to Austria (where my father works and can pick it up for me). Or at least it seems like it is possible to do so.

Question:

Will it be possible to use that phone over here in Slovakia? The phone will be unlocked, not contracted, simply a fully paid iPhone original. I believe it will (disregard the Micro SIM format, it's a "non-issue").

Question numéro deux:

Will it be later possible to update the iOS to a version, that contains slovak language? (at least for the quick text input dictionary, I don't need the slovak interface)

Question numéro trois:

What type of electrical wall outlets do you Brits use? 110V? 230V? You know, I might not always charge my phone from the USB.

Thank you very much, over and out.

Quote from DevilDare :Funniest thing ever.

So true though. Just because its called iPhone, everyone wants it. Just like with Ferrari or any other big and popular manufacture. Nobody cares how it performs, they want it because its made by a brand everyone knows...

At first, I wanted to point out your incredible ignorance, but then I realized the exact opposite. You actually know every single person who has ever bought an iPhone or a Ferrari and their reason for that matter. Congratulations

Quote from danowat :Makes no difference (IMO) what you are riding, crashing is the same if its a sports bike, tourer or cruiser.

From the protection point of view, you are absolutely right. I just can't imagine Arnold riding that Harley Davidson in a racing overall, but then again, he is the terminator I was asking because of the "image" thing, not the "safety" thing. What is some good looking protective gear for that kind of motorcycles? Having a bike-ride with friends while wearing a racing suit and a full helmet seems a bit odd.

This thread is very relevant to my interests. If you don't mind, I'd hijack a little and ask: What protective gear do you recommend for choppers and touring bikes, as sports bikes aren't my cup of tea (as you british guys put it ).

Quote from Be2K :S3 Content - What needs to do :
  1. S3 Licence System must be published (developed) on LFS.net
  2. Rockingham must be edit into his Track editor with the Information of his own Laserscanned Data's
  3. The Physics must be reworked for ALL Cars
  4. A new Server Version for dedicated Servers must be released and developed
  5. A new Update Installer needs to be developed in case of the new LFS S3 Version
  6. They said it would give a restricted Setup Option, so it needs to get work for all cars (if they wont choose some special Cars for thins only)
  7. For Point 6 they must developed a basic Set-up for a long run Races
  8. Scawen has published that a second Car will come with S3 so this needs to developed and bug fixed before publishing it

  9. Maybe the suggestion of changing the wether condition will come with S3 - JUST A SUGGESTION
  10. Point 11 could be explain the leak of all of this - Scawen is the only Developer ?

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :S4 Content - What needs to do:
  1. Get (The Stig) and lerts in the dev team
  2. Release the Ferrari F1 2027, the first ever F1 with full electric engine.
  3. Make an official announcement on lfs.net announcing that there'll be no bike on LFS before S5
  4. Announce that S4's release will be postboned(yea, I told you that (The Stig) was in charge of the communication part) to the 30th of February 2028, despite it was deem to be released before Christmas 2027
  5. Update the changing weather conditions, with now hail, tornadoes and auroras
  6. Release the laser scanned Nürbürgring Nordschleife announced 15 years ago
  7. LOL JK! Sorry, it'll be for S5 guys

  8. Eric is alive!!!1!
  9. The sentence above might not be true
  10. Establish a limit of 1 post per month per user on the General LFS Discussion section at LFSF

  11. Announce that S5's main content update will be lerts' cripsy bike
  12. Although this decision was only made after a long argument between lerts and (The Stig), as the latter wanted to introduce his brand new F1 Touring Car.
  13. S4 will cost 9001 bucks
  14. But hey, it's worth it!
  15. And have I told you that iR is now 100.000 bucks per month?
  16. But hey, Mick Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton Jr are playing it every day, so it's also worth it!
  17. OMFG! The world didn't collapse on the 21st December 2012!
  18. I knew that the Mayas weren't very srs people!
  19. Next time I'll hire Miro Rauti if I want to make smartass predictions of this kind

I would like to have as much free time as you two have.

Because of my crappy connection, I only race online very occasionaly, but when I do, I tend to be quite slower than the rest of the pack. I drive clean, let others overtake me, I don't clog up the turns and I don't block drivers, with or without the blue flag. But I am still slower and all the other racers have to take more care than if I weren't there. Am I a safe driver then?

PS: I usually end up on the podium just because I don't crash and get crashed others. They crash among themselves, hehe

  1. they should give a shit. Any business that ignores it's customers isn't going to last.
  2. all the excuses about tyre physics etc, doesn't explain the lack of content updates. We haven't seen a new track in (3+?) years.
  3. adding a developer or tyre simulation/physics expert might delay the rumoured release, but the longer term benefits would make it worth while.

I don't even use the profiler. Had more problems with it than without. I just installed the drivers, plugged in the wheel, fired up LFS and configured some buttons and off we go. The same experience on XP and 7.

I used profiler to make my wheel work with Richard Burns Rally, although I couldn't get the FFB to work. I never used profiler since, LFS works fine without it for me. Thank you.

Quote from blackbird04217 :It isn't about the volunteers enthusiasm - perhaps a little, but I think the learning curve has a lot to do about it.

What else motivates you then, if not enthusiasm, when you are working for free? Nobody has that much time on their hands that they can afford to work for others without getting anything from it for themselves.
