It's not the first time this same idea has gone nowhere. Not by a long shot. It's failing now for the same reasons it's always done so before. No matter how many polls and suggestions you make there's always going to be people who don't agree with a name.
The only way corners are going to be "named" is through shared experiences that compel drivers to use certain names to facilitate communication. A prominent landmark that can be used as a common reference point. (Monaco's swimming pool complex) Street names on a street circuit. Memorable elements in a corner. (Nurburgring's Carousel) An official name supplied by the circuit owner. Trying to build it by "community" effort will fail because the racing community is a lot bigger than the group who actively participates in the forums.
I see one major but hopefully easily fixed problem with this calendar. It's not viewable if you're not logged in. It would be more helpful to growth of the community if the casual guest users were able to see the LFS league activity at a glance.
To promote this new feature, could its link be put in a brighter color to stand out in the navigation bar?
That might be it. The video looks really smooth during the Redman/Horvath clip at the beginning. Sometime later on it seems as if the AA/AF was turned off. The difference is very noticeable when you compare Redman's in-car shot to the in-car track preview with Victor.
What I'd like to know is why everyone seems to be taking this at face value. How can you even include demo racers with any hope for accuracy when they come and go as well as being able to change names? If you're counting them from the beginning, are you double counting the licensed users that were also demo racers?
If I may make a hopefully small, compatible request, would it be possible to have a private server option to control access with a whitelist instead of a password? Basically a text file of LFS account names that the server checks before allowing someone to join. It could make league management smoother as well as preventing password leaks.
In multiplayer games, you can change your tyre type before you pit with the F12 menu. Scroll up and down with the arrow keys and select type with left and right.
I think the impasse here is that FILSCA is waiting for a coder to come up to them, commit to the project, and do it behind closed doors. Meanwhile the LFS community is waiting for FILSCA to make the technical requirements public so the coders can "swarm" around it until someone sticks with it long enough to complete it.
Instead of raging about it here and making yourself look silly, maybe it would be more effective to complain about this in a place where he would be more likely to see it, such as leaving a comment on those videos?
All this skin drama nonsense is getting on my nerves. If you don't like someone using your skin, take it up with them privately.
