Doesn't look dinky like the Logitech wheels
The wheel is seriously fast in spinning!
Drifters rejoice
Seems quite loud for a belt drive wheel....a bit like my DFGT
But it's and R&D video so may not reflect the retail product
I think it's the best of the Ferraris in the game and the cockpit view is quite good as well. All the others don't handle as well.
The car seems to handle pretty well in real life and is easy to drift http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcuk4rf-Onw
Just finished doing some hot laps on Tsukuba in a Ferrari 458 - what a blast. Spanked my Mclaren F1 time with the 458, with Aero add ons and soft sports tyres, everything else stock with ABS, 57+ secs. F1 with with same stuff in the at 59+ secs
Time without ABS is about a seond slower,
The way the engine revs and bangs through the gears is so addictive!
Just wished it looked a bit better....
I thought the engine sounded weird, but when I saw the Evo Youtube videos they sound similar in character
Arghhh! I corrupted my game save, by accidently turning off my PS3 at the power socket!!!
I have a backup, but it's a few days old...sigh
Lucky we can backup now, but man I'll have to redo events, re level B-Spec drivers and rebuy cars...
Although all my replays and photos are still there in the game data section.
I did gift a Nascar to my other account just before this happened, so I won't have to rebuy that one for the online event and save me 500k credits, and keep the 1 million prize money
Now I might just backup again, redo these special events, buy some expensive cars with the money, gift them to my other account, restore my save and repeat as necessary
Every dark cloud has a silver lining
^It's Kaz's dream car, so there might be more 0s and 1s in it
Anyone try shuffle mode online races? I haven't, but it seems interesting - the game chooses random cars for every person, but they're all fairly equal
Are you allowed to turn on SRF in time trials? Weird
The Standard/pro physics thing in Prologue was much better, and they had separate leaderboards
edit - I checked the leader boards, clicking on their name shows you want they had on and what control method they uded, and none of the top 10 have SRF on. Plus you can't turn it on anyway
When V1.05 first hit, I was getting 5 cards and 5 paints.
Yesterday I was 6 and 6, today 7 and 7....

As far as the driving experience in GT5 goes, I actually do just drive for the fun of it GT5without really pushing hard or racing anyone. Something I don't really do in iRacing or any other game, I just either race or try to beat a lap time. The type of cars you have probably is a factor, and maybe the the tracks.
Start watching from 4:05 when I make contact with the wall, and then watch the crossfaded part that comes in when I redid the replay, different results :0
V1.05 Arcade mode Pro level AI in action. Damage is turned on, and I didn't get hit by any on them considering how I was driving. You can see their brake lights go up when I dive bomb infront of them etc.
Just wish they were faster!
Also a damage glitch at 4:05
Sometimes it shows, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes it looks weird...
The host can select how long to wait for after the winner crosses the line
nice wheel - but every expensive
Well it's closer in sound to the real race car now, the road car still sounds different, more engine buzz, and less howl
It was too smooth before - a typical GT sound trait. More induction rasp in there. I can hear the rasp in the new GT5 sound, but it's mixed a bit too low in volume. It does sound like it's pitched a touch too high, maybe
They changed the stock GT-R sound. I first noticed this when I did the new seasonal event with my spec V. Had to downgrade my exhaust to stock to meet the power regulations.
Before it sounded like it did in Prologue, which I thought was quite good as is!
Maybe they did it just to be different, or bring it closer to the real thing. I'm not sure if it's better or worse, but it is different. I'll make a vid I guess
Hmmm they changed a lot of things, which they didn't mention in the change log in v1.05....such as the LFA sound
New sound, plus the track physics have changed too, moving the car around alot more at high speed. It actually goes airbourne in one spot! Braking down from high speed without ABS in this car is pretty scary! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGisXx-DaxY
And I tried a lift off oversteer test on the RUF BTR. Now some FWD cars should have it to, but I haven't seen it yet in GT5... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3RSt-fsgFU
Can anyone confirm if Nurburgring GP feels more bumpy to you with a wheel post v1.05?
The last time I drove on it, pre v1.05, it felt smooth and sterile.
I just had a race on there with a BMW Concept 1 series tii '07 (which feels great and handles nice BTW) and I was feeling nice feedback on the track. I won it in some event.
Not very high I was just holding a constant 100-150kph on a long sweeper, and let throttle go to test lift off oversteer and the car spun into the barriers of the Efiel theme course generator track I was testing on.
Of course there is more than one crash here
It seems frontal hits don't do as much damage as other angles of impact
V1.05 Standard car damage seems more severe.
I was just testing lift off oversteer with the RUF, and being rear engined, it has plenty of that
I can't get it to flip like I can with a Premium GT-R though...
I've only driven it in Prologue.
Rx-8 doesn't have much torque and sports medium or semi-slicks are pretty grippy in real life.
I saw someone who tracks a RX-7 on r888 semi-slicks in real life and he says the GT5 soft sports tyres feel like his, while hard sports tyres in GT5 feel like driving on ice
