Quote from danowat :List of "hidden" (i.e. not mentioned in the release log) changes in 1.05

All the tracks have much better lighting now, less dark for one.
Even the course generator tracks look better. Small touches to textures and objects here and there

And they have equalised the brightness and burn out difference between cockpit view and the other ones, but the snow is still going white in cockpit view, and on SS5 interior view is still darker than bumper.

They need to dial down the EV inside the car on snow tracks so the snow doens't burn out to total white. Right now you need to change EV to -1.0!

On Le Mans, the sand pits are possible getting too burnt out

This is a serious wheel - it looks like it will have beefy FFB motors, so it should spin as fast and hard as real wheel when you let go
The DFGT is seriously slow in this regard...

Testing the v1.05 offline damage on a track I made before on the Course Generator, with other AI cars. Collisions seems better too, as are the AI reactions.

Nice the SuperGT Fuji B-Spec race pays out 99,000 credits now!
And the game doesn't need to reload anymore to start another race straight after finishing it

Quote from Boris Lozac :CoolCol, does GT Academy works for you? I logged with my US account and it's not among Seasonal events Do you have to have a US version of a game or something?

Nope, EU version, and I don't see it on my US account. Don't worry EU is getting their own GT academy too

No problems here

I can confirm that heavy damage setting effects the AI and they pit to fix it

Quote from Chrisuu01 :Whel I have come to a worrying conclusion after I read that the coder for the Ethusia Professional Racing physics did the GT5 ones to.
I have come across the same problem as in enthusia, which is the unrealistic grip level that racing tyres provide.

I mean the grip they make is insane this is in no way realistic.
I can can co trough turns with my tyres screaming and smoking like crazy are they serious!?

The coder of the Enthusia physics engine works for PD, but he isn't soley responsible for the physics. There are other people credited with vehicle dynamics.

Racing hards don't feel too bad. They have much less grip than any other GT game so far

Quote from speed1230 :Anyone got a historic racecar 1979 or earlier?
I just haven't got the money to get a GT40 from the UCD

Win the Toyota 7 in B-Spec

B-Spec Extreme
Like The Wind: Toyota 7 Race Car '70 (S)

Man the update allowed me to use the 24 hour Nurburgring circuit and the dynamic lighting and time cycle is amazing!
My BTR looks sweet going around it - and it's getting damaged from all my off road excursions

Campsite lights at night and camp fire smoke etc - sweet

Quote from JJ72 :I think the GTR is depicted rather nicely in GT5, very grippy none the less, but doesn't pull away with pure apex speed, it's the uncanny stablity through the corner and monster traction which makes it fast, it's so easy to nail a perfect corner exit everytime because it is so forgiving.

But at least lightness still works, my RM S1 elise is matching the GTR almost on every race track with only 200ps.

as for Japanese car favoritism....the M3 owns the ISF in Forza, but it's the complete opposite in GT5. I doubt the ISF is quite as fast as the M3 IRL.

IS-F is a touch faster as far as straight line speed goes in real life
More torquey motor.

Plus in GT5 it actually sound like the real car
I just bought one, to race mod, and then I'll get another to have mildly tuned. Good bang for the buck

Quote from senn :lol @ "weight reduced" to 1700kg. srsly wtf :P

I think i got the veyron down to around 1580kg or something, and it's STILL a heavy pig of a thing

Well my GT-R Spec V is over 1600kg and it hauls ass, and handles pretty nice for the weight. Handles well enough to whip some 1 million credit exotica.

GT-R defies gravity, as it does in real life

Quote from Franky.S :Anyone has a pickup truck that i could borrow? Really can not find one.

I can lend you my souped up Ford SVT, a shade over 500hp, it's also lightened as well to around 1700+kg
I want it back though

Quote from Boris Lozac :So how many of you applied for the US GT Academy that starts tommorow? I did with my fake US account, would just like to recieve the free DLC that they promised for all participants.. and i always loved those time-trial challenges, that's why the online leaderboards can't come soon enough!

I just registered using a fake address this one

University of California, Santa Cruz
1156 High Street
Santa Cruz, CA 95064

I have an account for every major region on the PSN - Japan, UK, US an AU off course. For some reason, each region has different stuff and demos on the PSN.... PSN for every region looks different too

Quote from sinbad :"Racing" tyres are insanely grippy too, put those on a road car and it becomes something completely different, something totally dull, too.

Love the BTR wing by the way, it's ridiculous, you can almost see the DIY store nuts and bolts which the rich father's spotty teenage son used to completely f**k up his classic RUF

I'm running into a bit of a credit shortage right now. Too much money wasted modifying silly cars. I have a Triumph Spitfire with everything done to it except suspension and tyres, it's hilarious

RUF wing looks like this one

Quote from BlueFlame :I think he's more saying that the game is unrealistic rather than he doesn't believe you.

Actually in real life, there are quite a few lower powered cars that do better than I have in the game
For example a 1:02.246 from the stock IS-F with suspension upgrades only. Better than a Mclaren F1

Love the RUF BTR - need to be premium!
The type C wing is a bit over the top

Type B wing I have installed

57.6? gees that's fast, I have plenty of 600+ hp cars in my garage, and only recently have I got the Mclaren F1 on Sports medium tyres to just under 1 minute....
Then again he said he golded everything with a pad, in a few days too, that's something I can't boast

BTW I picked up a RUF BTR, looks sik with the wing on the back!
Ahh if only it was a premium....
I now have all the RUFs I think

A bit like this

I made a video showcase of my first car

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkPZHAm8yUg

Decided to spruce up my first car and tune it up a bit more with off the shelf parts only. Paint off a MR2. Slapped some medium sports tyres on, with no aids or ABS brakes and took it to Autumn ring for a track session.

Dare I say it, feels go kart-ish now!
Fastest lap of the session shown - 1'31.931 at 181hp 935kg

I lowered the car quite a lot, maybe too much as it seems the suspension is bottoming out and causing the car to hop over the curbs

Quote from Mustafur :Im lvl 27 and i cant be bothered doing the enduros anymore, im just going to wait till they give money and xp for online otherwise i give up getting the X1.

Getting B-Spec up to level; 35 will give you the X1

I brought a RUF CTR2 - that car hammers, but feels kinda understeery, well you need to drive it differently from all other cars
4WD Turbo Porsche type car
It's a standard but looks better than the other RUFs, the wide body stance helps
