You'd think so, but I'm like you when it comes to engines sadly.
I suppose that it could help if it didn't blow up (makes me think about the engine trouble TRD had at Daytona and that they've won on almost all of the horsepower tracks this year (Cali., Vegas, Texas, Kansas..)
I look at it more from a fairness point of view. Those who have a good car are now more likely to be toward the front for the start and the same goes the other way around. Excitement wise I do agree with you though Benny, but I have to remain in favor of this.
You are correct PMD.
CotA would be much better than Kansas for a second time, or, heck, just about any mile and a half a second time, but I don't see it happening. It's a shame.

Discussion of the 2013 running of this event may be made here
Official Note: Any discussion here which is not directly involved with the event will not be tolerated. Any kind of insults will not be permitted on this thread. Please take them to PM's if you must do them at all. I beleive that many competitors would like to have a race discussion thread. Don't ruin that for everybody please. :scared:
No more talk on the matter. On to the rest of the season where teammates will hardly be a factor and bump drafting will no longer be an issue. Practice session news coming shortly. (Likely Saturday and Sunday morning if not sooner)
Initital incident is caused by the 23 making contact with the inside wall. This collects the other two entries to his right. The 23 attempted to continue following this incident after his car straightened up, but again lost control and slid down the race track resulting in contact with the 45 car.
LFS issued a yellow flag warning to the 45 car 5 seconds prior to the contact with the 23 and Race Control issued the caution flag two seconds before contact.
This is a racing incident as these are all accidents and nobody gained anything in these instances of contact.
There is slight contact as the 23 moves up the race track into the 53 through turn 3. This contact is avoidable, and because this results in a loss of time for the 53 and an advantage for the 23. A 10 point penalty will be assessed to the 23 car following this event.
We at Realistic NASCAR only throw cautions if it is deamed that a caution flag will help drivers not already involved in an incident. Directly from the Realistic NASCAR Rulebook comes the following statement.
"3.1 Yellow flags will be thrown if it is deemed that the slowing of participants would reduce the possibility of competitors receiving major damage due to a disabled or out of control race car. Drivers are asked to unblock chat messages under yellow flag periods if Teamspeak is not being used for an event. Chat will remain closed unless a competitor is asking for permission to speak. See Figure 6.
"3.2 The calling of flags will solely fall upon the hands of the administration team, and this will be achieved via the flagging system unless competitors are told otherwise."
The track behind the 00 was clear for some 30 seconds. We've done this time and time again. The 45 was removed from the racing surface immediately when the crash happened and therefore a caution flag would not have halped any of the other competitors.
The 26 also caused an incident later in the race which lead to a drive through penalty for that driver. Following the event the 26 car will be assessed a 20 point penalty on top of the in-race penalty.
I have been in charge of running all of the practice sessions in all previous rounds and I have been (between work and school) unavalible over 70 hours a week. This was not true until the first of March, and this is what forced me to remove the license requirement from the Fern Bay 150. We will be working to alleviate me from all of these responsibilities so that we can continue having a proper number of practice sessions moving forward. We just havn't quite found a way to do this yet that works. We will be working towards this goal again as soon as possible.
We treat all drivers equally when they are placed under the same circumstances.
No administrative actions are required for this occurance. No rules were broken as a result.
Joe Nemechek qualified 37th and will not start the race due to the rulebook. The top 36 positions are set on qualifying time, and the last 7 are set by owners points. Joe had less owners points than everybody else outside of 36th.
Not sure where I should post this, but I think this will be a good place for it . NASCAR Winston (now Sprint) Cup at Suzuka in 1996 . Pretty good race (though a little messy at times as expected with NASCAR pre-00's)
This round, only confirmed competitors will receive the event password. I'll be sending those PMs out when I wake-up in the morning, so expect them around 2 hours to an hour and a half before the race. Server will remain without a password until that time.
I apologize for the lack of practice sessions. I had intended to have at least 4 sessions, but I haven't had much if any time on my hands recently. Between work and school I've been 'working' 60+ hour weeks the last 3 weeks and I needed to do some testing for the WTBOCS last Sunday (my only day completely off every week) . Then of course there's always homework to attend to.
IndyCar probably doesn't have any say in it. NBC usually carries golf (PGA) on Sundays. (Never mind, CBS carries golf usually, not NBC, so I'm confused.)
ABC doesn't want to broadcast all the races obviously for some reason. Even though their coverage isn't the greatest.
Looking at TV guide NBC has local programming on Sunday through 2:30 in competition with the Sprint Cup race, and then at 3 or so NHL (hockey) comes on. This is usual for them. They have F1 as well and it's trapped on NBC sports network..
It's a sad occurance. Thoughts are with those involved.
That being said, there's not much else to read into it in my opinion. Only thing that I've learned that I didn't already know is that our media is completely retarded.
Look at the false reports that we've been hearing. They havn't even made an arrest and all of a sudden they have. Sigh.. wait until you know FOR CERTAIN before you report something!
Please confirm that you will be attending this round by posting here. This is required. Failure to do this will result in your car not appearing on the tracker and/or the stream.
You will receive a drive-through penalty at the drop of the green flag if your confirmation is not submitted prior to April 21, 2013 at 13:00 GMT
Please submit the completed form below.
DO NOT change FZR in your confirmations. DO NOT add any spaces around the commas. Thank you.
The suicide at the NRA 500 is even further complicated because of the fact that guns were not permitted on the infield. Which the NRA would not be in favor of
Expect qualifying times this week to top 200 MPH possibly at Kansas. Also, notice that there were a couple of suspension problems in the first truly stressful 500 mile race of the year on parts (the Daytona 500 isn't)
Hopefully this will not be an issue moving forward with the added downforce. Darlington is rumored to be super fast this year too, so the Southern 500 in a few weeks will be our first real indication as to how much of an issue this really will be. This is just a growing pain for the Gen-6 car and should take care of its self in time.
I don't mind speeds over 200 at Kansas in qualifying. In the race though, I would find an issue with it. That almost certainly won't happen, but the forecast shows little chance of rain on Sunday with cloudy skies and a high in the 60's. These are good conditions for speed.
Round 4 – Nationwide 50 - 27 laps at KY1 - FZR (16% Res) - April 14, 2013 - 14:00 GMT - Layout
Round #4 of the 2013 Realistic NASCAR Open Series will be ran on April 14, 2013 starting at 14:00 GMT with qualifying (20 min.) These will be open track sessions unlike in the Cup Series so drafting will be permitted in qualifying.
The race will begin with a single (uncounted) pace lap at 14:30 GMT. This race is expected to last around 15 min. There will not be flags in this event, so be careful at all times . See links below before racing if you have not already done so.
It's been reported. It is being taken care of. It was not a competitor and I don't beleive that I've been in contact with this person on the LFS Forums before
