Quote from Mr. Kninja :I sure picked a fine time to not have money to buy AC.. If only they would find it in their hearts to put it on sale for about 50% off.

I'll have to be content with the (already incredible) tech demo for now, like I've been doing.

What's your Steam username?

I still find that basically every sim out there misses the truly awesome feel of LFS. I bought rFactor 2 recently to see if they'd manage to fix their physics and FFB. No more than 2 hours later I had sent the email requesting a refund. It felt lifeless and terrible.

NKP still takes the cake as the closest to exhibiting those great traits. Assetto Corsa fortunately is there to take the helm from NKP and provde that alternative. LFS still feels "right" every time I drive it.

Quote from Mr. Kninja :About $130, after scouring the net to find the cheapest deals. It really doesn't make sense to go this route since I added it all up. I'd be better off saving up for a G27 down the road.

Yeah. The only reason I bought the cable was convenience. I got sick of fishing the cable around.

I have one of the Bodnar pedal cables. The plug where you plug the pedals in contains a small microcontroller, which exposes the pedals as a USB HID device (as well as interprets the pin out from the pedals into something useful. The shifter would do the same as well.) The shifter cable has some configuration as well, to attempt to work around the inevitable breakage of the Logitech shifters.

You cannot simply splice a serial cable to a USB cable. USB Cable has 2 data pins (+ and -), where the pedals alone would have at least 4 pins (Signal for each, plus a shared ground). Never mind that the signalling is incompatible.

Quote from Kristi :You guys are suggesting JAVA and Javascript to the dude. Do you want to send him to hell or something? I'm not sure why a simple Excel sheet is not fancy enough for your needs, especially when you are not that familiar with programming languages, and at this point you don't really know the concept. Even if you decide to surrender yourself to shaman, first do an Excel sheet to sum all those formulas, that will make your job a lot easier.

Like mata did say, he does have some familarity with C. Javascript is simple enough for someone with medium programming skills to be able to accomplish a lot in a reasonable amount of time.

It's not like I'm suggesting him go full retard and build it in AngularJS.

As for Java, I wouldn't suggest that to my worst enemy, especially considering building a desktop application has a tonne more overhead than a web page (where the display layer, the DOM, is already idiotproof).

Quote from sil3ntwar :This would be my solution as well. Would take no time to learn how to do.

Plus mata is in IRC, where he has Karl (The Angry Angel), Vic, myself and others who are reasonably good at programming, Javascript specifically, as a reference.

You could do it in pure client side JavaScript as well.

I swear I saw that same face wearing a very tight Canucks shirt on this forum before, with a large woman next to him.

So, your rationale behind me following professional hockey is a picture from 2 years ago while I was playing a pickup game that us hockey referees play every year along with a picture of me wearing a bikini that my ex was gifting to her best friend.

I'm quite amazed though Ray. This might have just been your least intellectual post ever. Quite spectacular considering how low most of your other posts have set the proverbial intellectual bar.
