Except that's the marketplace, that's not actually priced by Valve. They're $100 because people value them that high, not because Valve is selling them for that expensive. In fact, you can't buy skins. They are only dropped from crates.
Nevermind that CS:GO can be bought most weeks for like $10 because it's consistently on sale.
Re-read the natural progression of the thread please. Rony brought up that LFS is an incredible value, even for the demo version. Discussing Free to play games is entirely within reasonable scope of the conversation.
It's still a free game with no restrictions on the game content. The fact that I've spent money willingly should be a testament to how excellent it is for a free game.
Are you implying that LFS is a bad game or that you think skin rstriction and sorts / FTP model would be better for LFS? How is this relevant? FTP model for this type of game, is an absolut no-go.
I don't feel it's correct at all for LFS. I think that it works for certain game types, and I believe a lot of games exploit the model in a way that is bad for the consumer. DOTA I think gets it the most correct, by offering no in-game advantage to people who pay money.
League of Legends I feel does it incorrectly, by willingly handcuffing a player to play an extremely restrictive set of heroes unless they purchase other heroes, along with offering rune pages, which can be earned through playing time but the points used to purchase those can be boosted to extreme measures with money. This falls into the "pay money to accelerate growth" which I think is the biggest problem that free to play games have. People who have paid any money in League have a large advantage as they can simply play heroes that counter the free ones hard and just get ez wins without any skill.
Clash of Clans and other "pay money to accelerate growth" games are downright cancerous, and are extremely bad for gaming as a whole. They show that maximizing the payments while creating the most minimal amount of gameplay is the correct decision.
useless post? and you happen to be in charge to decide that. really? what use is talking about other rpgs under westhill progress thread?
Other conversation is relevant to gaming in general, along with the success of free to play games and how demo racers keep asking for more content. Your post was just a classic shitpost.
And Daniel is correct. The drug money has gone to Flame's head.
Demo racers should be happy enough for 3 cars,2 track configurations, unlimited online time and full stats tracking at lfsw. Is there any other game that offers that much for absolutely free?
DOTA 2.
1300 games played. Every cent I've spent has been willingly and for cosmetics that I care about, but could have had the same experience by spending $0.
youve paid more for dota than i have for all games ive ever owned
hell for the money you paid for dota stuff you could even afford a base model iphone 5c

It is my understanding that Microsoft has deliberately left out this absolutely tiny thing that allows older games to run. The purpose of this self-sabotage is to annoy developers, to "encourage" them to move onto DirectX 10 or later, so they make games which will not work on other operating systems.
However, they could not get away with breaking backward compatibility completely, so they do provide the download to fix their own sabotage.
We have a special LFS web page pointing to that download. That window that popped up, should have given you a link to install the runtime. But here it is anyway: https://www.lfs.net/dx9 which links to the MS site.
It is a Microsoft install so it is really safe, it's just correcting what they deliberately broke.
FWIW: Most games (on Steam at least) install that runtime as part of its pre-install process. I don't think it's Microsoft intentionally breaking old games, it's just trying to keep the OS distribution slightly smaller. I think it's a futile effort as Windows already takes 20 GB post-install as it is, so what's another 100 MB.
It's the same as the .NET framework. Windows tends to only come with the latest version (4.0 currently), but if you need 3.0 or even 2.0, you have to install it separately.
This sounds a lot like "I can't be homophobic because I have a gay friend".
Also Americans are (in some group) definitely racist. If they weren't, issues regarding violence towards coloured citizens, especially by persons of authority, wouldn't be a big deal. Nor would Anonymous need to launch an attack on the KKK, which exists only to be a racist and hateful group.
To be fair, Scawen has been banning people for saying "women belong in the kitchen" for like 6 years now. I got banned by the same thing AGES ago, and it's been made crystal clear in the last few years that any sort of hateful speech will be banned. Satire on the internet doesn't often work unless it's basically prefaced or ended with a "THIS IS SATIRE" (or is on a site like Onion, which people still fall for that as being literal often)
His statements are kinda funny considering 5 years ago I cared about and watched F1, staying up or waking up at ridiculous hours to watch races. Now, as a young adult with more disposable income than I know what to do with, I couldn't care less about watching F1 because it's simply uninteresting to watch
Dont want to sound like a big douche here but atleast they don't advertise on other websites in a desperate attempt to gain customers, like Oculust rift vr with pictures of the scirocco and rockingham that haven't been available to actual users for 6 years. lol
I don't think Scawen has done what you've described. All the OR images are from current version of LFS, not the "S3" fork (as I'd presume it's done).
As for your complaint about fence rendering, it's actually a bigger deal than you think. It's the addition of graphics engine features that will allow more complex geometry (instead of poor alpha textres) for various structures, without putting a strain onto the graphics card. What Scawen has done is effectively implement geometry instancing, which was touted as some huge DX10 feature (but supported in DX9).
It might seem small for the uneducated, but for those who do understand graphics engines and the complications that programming can bring, the fences are a pretty nice update to the graphics engine.
Just crawl back under your rock you troll, though I will never get tired of seeing the way you try to make your miserable life feel better by spitting constant crap out of your mouth Not even going to waste any time on a proper resonse, 0/5 troll, nothing to see here.
Because you don't have a response, as I'm correct. If we're allowing something to be called a sim when it works within very specific parameters, then NFS and even GeneRally are "sims" as they correctly simulate a stationary car without any problems. Further evidence to me being correct is instead of ignoring the post, you needed to insult me demonstrating that you genuinely have no counter argument and instead need to attack my character.
Pretty pathetic that slip angles are still a "hot topic" Everyone knows iR slip angles isn't the best out there, but if you know how to wheel it and work like the average person with an income - then it's one hell of a fun sim.
If it ****s up having proper responses to a slipping tyre, how can it say that it has a realistic tyre model. It has a realistic model, it will perform correctly at all slip angles, not correctly within a small small window of parameters.
Again, I wouldn't expect anything other than deceit from lieRacing and nothing put pure denial from the fans who have bought in.
