Quote from Sueycide_FD :Always embarrassing when a city has it's own big Homicide section dedicated to numbering and giving details of the crimes.

I'm pretty sure every American city and town has a dedicated squad of 30 or 50 people for this task. They're kept pretty busy too.

Quote from Sueycide_FD :I keep seeing April thrown about GTA Fourms, but i wouldn't bet on it. That place has turned into a shitty version of 4chan and Reddit since october.

I don't think it's humanly possible to have a shittier place than 4chan.

Also, as LFSW is vulnerable to stats faking, and P V L is known historically for such actions, it's more likely than not that the 1 million miles isn't actually real, and has been crafted with faked data sent to LFSW, not legitimate driving.

Triple post FTW.

Quote from vipex123 :For your information, me and FM Failure had 'much beef', but he at least gained his statistics fairly and actually raced online with other people on both oval and road races. Christ, he even did a few league races. If the OP is indeed P V L, referring to himself as "the best LFS racer" is hilarious. I could name a number of drivers worthy of that title and I'm sorry but he is nowhere near. It just proves how vain some people are on this forum. But hey, if that's how you get your kicks!

I think some demo racer who has driven 40 laps is a better racer than P V L. Mostly because I've never seen him race, and only heard of him as being part of the WKD cruiser drama.

Quote from Anarubizu :You might have a great distance, but only bmxtwins has the skills of being faster than anyone on any track without causing any crash.

I thought Ray was the only person that could finish 2nd in a 1 car race.

Quote from dekojester :While I may lose my temper more often than I'd like, I still am glad that you're all here to race with us.

Deko, if you didn't lose your temper, it'd make races boring. Especially KY500 practice sessions. Some grin-inducing moments there

Kristi: I think a few people in the LFS scene have been messaged about that game (from Youtube videos).

They seem to be spamming for testers

Quote from thatguy :I have to wonder what makes the project take such a long time to complete. rFactor and LFS have had driver swaps way before iRacing was even around.

The real bet is will AC have driver swaps before iRacing.

My money is on yes.

I see that they've continued their "Next build will have driver swaps" for another update. That's what, 4 years now?

So we have the Penis nose, the Anteater nose, and the Vagina nose (that's not a nose).

Good job guys! F1 is so pretty now.

Except OpenGL isn't the answer. OpenGL only provides 1 piece of the whole puzzle. LFS would actually need to transition to something like SDL which is more of a complete DirectX functionality match (handles input, sound, graphics, etc).

I think it'd be foolish for Scawen to do this though. LFS runs more than sufficient in WINE. Why waste more time porting to a different graphics API for no benefit.

No, It's all standard PC hardware, so Windows should run fine.

I prefer the look of the double nose (aka Vagina nose) to the Dildo nose of the other cars.

Quote from undertaker00 :Is there way to change that on ATI ?
Or i should do it manual with that .ini file ( dont know where is it )

Catalyst should have similar setting.

Quote from The Very End :How do you force the pre-render thingy with Nvidia's controll panell? And what should be an allround good setting?

Ideally you have 0 pre-rendered frames for the most immediate response.

It streams KB+Mouse (obviously). Not sure about wheel. It's unlikely that it will simply becuase there's a lot more state and variety with wheels (plus FFB). The best "workaround" I could think of is to plug wheel directly into your streamed PC, and then use the destination PC as a monitor but that's assuming that your boxes are adjacent (and in that case, why not just use the other box!).

I think XPlane is fully Cross Platform. I actually built a brand new PC for Assetto Corsa and DOTA2. The ability to run the other games that my MBP struggled with is just a bonus.

Yeah. I was pretty surprised actually how fast the streaming is. I think it's more than adequate for playing most games. The obvious games like Assetto Corsa won't be suitable, but as it will stream a Gamepad input, some games that are better on controller (aka most console ports) should be extremely playable.

It's streaming DOTA2 for me right now @ 60FPS with ease.

Well, yes it means "Games that are sold on Steam" but the games that work on SteamOS must support Linux. There's no magical emulator to make Windows games run.

However, In-Home streaming launched to beta users today. I got access and I will say, it works quite well (once I got it to work). There's a very small delay <5ms for input, and video is quite quick as well. I can't wait to try it some more tomorrow.

Quote from Vojta7 :I agree that the content is expensive and the game is not even finished, but I really like the concept of purchasing content and would appreciate it also in LFS. I mean that I'd download the demo, and when I'd want e.g. FZR and Fern Bay, I'd be able to buy (unlock) them without buying the entire S2 and therefore save some money.

The problem is, that to make small blocks of content sustainable, the prices would be higher to ensure a consistent revenue source. So it wouldn't actually save money. Think about currently how FZR and Fern Bay, that's probably about 2£ for the FZR (tops) and about 4£ for Fern Bay (right now). In a model where you can buy content separately, both would need to be at least twice as expensive just to make sense economically for the Devs.
