AC ran well for me on a GTX 760 (even better now with SLI'd 760's). GTX 770 is a hair over $300 I think and (theoretically) would run it even better.

Which is funny because I find the clutch in my Jetta (2001) to be pretty decent. I can consistently find the bite point and control it with ease.

All I can think of is iofl. Those who have been in #lfs the last few weeks will know what I'm talking about.

As Warper mentions, Winebottler does work, but wheel support is terrible as the hardware manufacturers haven't written any support for any wheels. I haven't ever tried running Logitech's tools inside of Wine to see if that works.

Boot Camp is the best way to run LFS, but it does require a Windows licence as you're dual booting.

Quote from Wenom :I think it was for demonstration purposes only. Much like Rockingham circuit. So don't expect it for to be released for consumer versions of LFS or you might be disappointed. That is just my guess. I'm not expecting to see it ever if you want my opinion.

Except it wasn't. It was known from the beginning that it was going into consumer versions. I doubt that will change, even now.

Quote from Ped7g :Some people kept asking this for last 5 years or so
Everybody's so impatient...

Seriously, you have an obvious question of somebody who did just join LFS, but if you would pay attention to the main web news and their dates and history, you would probably understand there's no possible way to answer you without mocking either you, or the devs, or everyone around, which is quite unfortunate.

In the meantime jump into MRT or RAC or FBM or F1, if you want the real car in LFS.
(I hope I didn't omit some, but I think only these 4 are the licensed real ones modelled 1:1 to the real thing)

Or try other cars as well, all of them are based on real cars and quite similar to some of them. Like the LX cars being similar to Lotus seven, etc...

Look at their join date. August 2014. It's not a question out of impatience, he's a new player. Instead of getting upset, a more informative answer would be better.

Quote from Mustangman759 :
Edit: Why can't Ray attempt to qualify a race? Is it strictly forbidden? He has the proper requirements.

He proved last year in the Blackwood race that he is unable to control the FO8, although from that performance, I was given the impression he was actually racing this:

Quote from Fordman :Seriously....just for changing a track on the "dedicated" server, not running from my PC, and it works locally from my PC....seems a be drastic to me

Fordie

I dunno, that's the thing I've had when AC crashes on launch with MP, and that fixed it. It could be a bunch of things that could crash the .exe, and without even basic error handling like NKP had, hard to know without just yolo guessing a solution.

Try renaming your controls.ini and re-setup your controls? The error handling for ini files is abysmal, especially when AC writes its own INI files that are sometimes invalid.

Quote from dekojester :Yes, if you want the highlights to be all wrecks. I did see some reasonable racing, but missed half of the race thanks to having to review stuff

Just don't let Ray race, then no wrecks.

Quote from cargame.nl :Why can't LFS support CSAA, it should be possible with DX9.

Because then you need to also support EQAA for AMD which uses different modes, albeit a similar technology.

Quote from Eiw :
1: At what point do you think a sim (or semi-sim) racing game is attractive to you?

I just like to have quick races on a random combo of car + track. Important to me more than having "real" physics is having consistent physics. One of the the things that always annoyed me with Real Racing is that I would repeat the same thing in a given lap, yet results would be different for no good reason.

Quote from Eiw :
2: Why would you keep playing a game even if you’ve unlocked all the cars and levels?

Yes, because I'd prefer to have everything unlocked to start and have a "random" button to just put me into a short race with any car+track combo

Quote from Eiw :
3: If you are slow and you can’t beat the fast guy, what makes you to enjoy the racing with fast guy as you are always lose, is that the pursuit of “victory”?

The experience of the race itself, be it a nice environment or enjoyable physics.

Quote from Eiw :
Also, 4: what do you want to have in the kickstarter as the return? Except for in-game content? What else u wish have?

Nothing. Maybe a notice in the credits or access to an in-development version of the game.

Quote from Eiw :
5: Will you guys enjoy getting your own designed cars or skins, and level design included in the game?

Yes

As shot said, DOTA 2 is a good, free example of the mode I'm suggesting. When the game is active, taskbar is hidden (but inactive, taskbar will cover the game window). It is effectively a chromeless window which takes up the entire height + width of a monitor.

Just don't actually start playing DOTA, you may never ever ever ever finish S2 if you start.

Scawen, have you considered adding borderless window mode? Most modern games allow it as an option (to make switching between game and external application easier/faster), but as a side effect, with LFS, you could enable "sum of all monitors width x smallest monitor's height" as a preset size, to allow one to do triple/dual screen without mucking about with drivers.

Have you tried installing up to date graphics drivers? Bootcamp tends to come with relatively out of date GPU drivers (and, in the case of ATi, without catalyst). Maybe extended mode will work in that case.

FWIW, I have played most of my LFS from a laptop, using a Mini DisplayPort connected display as my "main" monitor for most of the time I've spent playing LFS. This fundamentally shouldn't be any different than that.

Also, inb4 haters going "get a real computer".

You shouldn't install LFS to Program Files as the LFS does require admin permissions to operate on the LFS folder.

The default is set to C:\LFS specifically because writing the root of a drive doesn't require special permissions. That way,LFS can run under standard permissions while still being able to do everything.
