What happened to Plug and Play, its now plug don't work spend more and play

Old hardware will not work forever. You don't try to mount fuel injectors to a carburetted engine. Computers are no different.

Quote from Mustangman759 :I would not expect a robot to understand sarcasm.

Satire !== Sarcasm.

Trying to cover your inability to spell with the excuse of "satire" doesn't fit in what satire means at all. Maybe instead of the cheeseburgers, you should pick up a dictionary.

Quote from piggy501 :I suppose it can be offensive, but I don't really hold that kind of view. Surely anything can be offensive if you're sensitive enough. I prefer people who don't need to shove their opinions on people to get their moral superiority.

What's offensive is entirely subjective to each individual - for example, you might object to being called Scottish stereotypes being used around you, whereas I'm perfectly fine with laughing at being called a whisky-drinking, haggis-chasing, deep-fried Mars bar muncher. Oh, and don't forget we all wear kilts.

If you don't enjoy it, don't watch it, and leave those that do, to do so in peace.

Can you also play the bagpipe?

Quote from edge3147 :I think it's a combination of advertising, not being on a console (America loves Consoles (see Gran Turismo and Forza)), lack of shiny super ultra detailed graphics (America loves fancy things) and speed of development. There are probably a few other factors, but this would give a good idea what most American gamers I have played with look for in games.

I think once AC has more mainstream cars, it'll increase in popularity. The Ferrari's and exotic cars are nice, but can't underestimate the American love for Corvettes.

Quote from Storm_Cloud :I take offence at self-righteous indignation, which this thread reeks of.

This is basically what happens about every season of Top Gear. Intrepid watches it, has outrage, whines about TV licence.

Every.

Season.

Ad infinitum.

Again, you're not forced to pay for a TV licence. If you really hate the BBC that much, you can sell all of your TVs and not pay.

Quote from Fordman :For a Kart Racing Neebie, what's the difference. One is out, and the other is not yet, get that bit, but is KRP any good?

Fordie

All of the PiBoSo sims are good, but he seems to have the same work ethic that Kunos used to have. Create a decent simulator, but then proceed to do 0 work on it to push it past the bare essentials. Then get bored and create a new sim (with no support).

At this point, PiBoSo has a Closed wheel car sim, Kart Sim, Motorbike sim and now a dirt bike sim. Problem being is that none of these have matured past 1 or 2 patches and the online community is non-existent (last I checked at least).

They're nice for what they are, but there seems to be no real "future" plan for any of them.

Quote from troy :Must resist stupid speed of development joke

To be fair, that's an extremely ambitious goal. From having little coding experience to a pretty smooth looking 3d game in 9 years, while completing other jobs, a business degree, and learning (presumably C++, maybe C# or other language) how to program, and 3d model.. That's not doing too bad.

Quote from Macfox :He's made a dozen or so posts (circa '10), but he deleted them. They weren't flattering and probably not really representative of him as a person, as is the case with anyone, when their buttons are pushed.

If he is active (in some form) then it's really disappointing he has chosen to withhold content. It really seems counter productive to let the game wither on the vine for 6+ years. In many ways it under mines Scavier's efforts.

Well, most of his posts I'd reckon are in private forums that we can't see. I think there's only 1 post that's actually public.

It's also a completely different comparison. Speaking from experience, it's a lot easier to make leaps of progress on a new project than a mature project because the jumps seem larger in relative terms (plus, less code is easier code).

Scawen does still get into kicks where he releases several patches in a short period of time. Just because it isn't stuff that pertains to you, doesn't mean that progress doesn't get made.

As for Eric, he's always seemed to be shy. I don't think made many posts back in RSC, and has only made 1 (public) post here to basically clear the air (partially) because there was a group that were obsessed at how enigmatic Eric is.
