If you guys are really so bored about LFS and its slow progress... hell there are so many other games out there, play them and come back when there is progress. It's still a game afterall and not a religion.

that's what i and many other drivers do. i check the forum from time to time to see whats going on and sometimes i post my opinion, like in this thread. most of the time i do other stuff than playing games and when i do, i mostly play something else, because i am bored of lfs.

as you see, i am pretty relaxed about this. many forum users, who defend lfs at all cost and sometimes even attack others for a different point of view on this topic, obviously aren't. it's not a religion.

for me the speed of development in lfs is a huge disappointment. the development till the first release of s2 alpha produced much more interesting content in a short time.

especially the lack of graphical updates (new tracks, new cars) are a reason why i am bored of lfs at this time. it's still the best sim out there. i just wish that the devs accept help from talented modders/trackbuilders to spice up lfs a little. e.g. there is still no decent rallycross car in lfs....(i don't get the point of rx-tracks without a rx car).

i think it's sad that such a good gameengine with so many opportunities isn't used as it could be.

basically it's the same as the STCC lrf servers. don't complain about the lack of interest if you limit the most popular car of this class to platinum users (at that time there weren't many platinums).

if you don't want rallycross racers on the track who love the sport and mostly race rallycross in lfs , this is the right way .

it's like having a autocross session where you have to race 35 laps. it's nothing like the real thing. you are still driving on a autocross layout, but it isn't autocross anymore.

as an addition, unfortunatly even good hardtrack racers often behave on rx tracks pretty clumsy/unpredictable. on a track like green rx you have to have some luck to survive a 35 lap race unharmed.

in the rxc, we have a jokerlap because it IS almost impossible to overtake on this track when you are driving against equally skilled drivers, just because you can't do major mistakes and there isn't much room.

@becky:
yeah sure, i think 98% of all racers can do that....

...but only if they are alone on the track or they don't intend to engage in a fight for positions. on this track it is really easy to roll or to ruin your suspension. it's a tight track and overtaking without contact is only possible against much slower drivers.

35 laps will definately keep the server empty. it's the best way to keep rx unpopular.

p.s.:
the longest race length you can have in real rallycross is 6 laps. green rx is a quiet short but typical rx track.

s1 tracks and s1 cars are still my favourites. i am bored for a very very long time now.

i love short races. 5 laps is the optimum .

if there are many racers on the track 10 laps is better, but most of the time 5 laps is perfect.

league examples XRT-Addicts, EIRC and RXC

@danowat:

sounds like you got all already figured out. so there is no need for evidence anymore.

why bother? it's ok if the forum admins like to check that out via PM but that witch hunt that happens EVERY time is annoying. it's not everyones business and it IS driving topics off topic (even if it's a drift topic).

if you want to be the police in the forum, contact mods/admins or "harrass" the criminal via pm.

Victor, i know that this isn't the mistake of your shop in any way. It's the fault of TNT-Post who "delivered" the package.

I recieved a lot of help in the german lfs forum, how to make them pay my loss and i am positive that i can get my money back.

p.s.:
yes the package was left OUTSIDE the house in one of the main streets in hamburg.

don't use the "basic parcel service" option, if you really want to get your package.

mine was left by the delivering company on the stairs to the house i am living. it was ripped open and some #$§$%/&"§ now enjoys some new lfs shirts. i am not surprised, hundrets of pedestrains and thousands of cars are passing the entrance to my house each day.

the delivering company says that they don't need to deliver the package to anyone personally, not even the neighbors.

i purchased the stuff again, this time using the european parcel service.

Quote from XCNuse :No Danny is racing right now, but yes Frank is talking to him right now.
Frank is the host.

I think Danny made the right choice by choosing the RB4, I think if someone were to get out there in the XRT they'd be tired after only a few hours of racing.

nono, the host is mika radmer

Quote from BenjiMC :Also realise that us GTR drivers are having a race too and when we have somone on our arse at 150 mph we aren't exactly looking out for an LX6 doing 0mph less than us, we're watching our mirrors.

well i just posted a general rule of racing, which obviously some drivers aren't aware off.

and.....you can't tell me that you are looking into your mirror all the time.....99% of the time you are looking into the direction you are going......and that's the advantage the overtaking one has.

yesterday some GTRs passed me in my lx6 very dangerously. i just want you to know, that the slower classes are having a race too and its not our responsibility to dodge the fast gtrs immediately.

overtake without contact pls, you have to know that the overtaking driver is responsible for the overtaking procedure and keep in mind that a little touch can send a lx6 off the track.

rules: "Slower cars dont have to leave their racing line, but have to provide enough space for the faster cars to overtake them. If there is no space, the faster car has to wait."

and never try to overtake in the oval entry!

well posts from fxr drivers and the zt team not counted, i can say that it seems that many of the forum-members think this decision is a reflection of your will to win this event .

the 24h race would be a great event to test the new 0/40/80 system.

too bad, we can't do this .

p.s.:
in the german forum, most of the people don't understand the decision either. surprisingly only fxr drivers do.

yep a group b monster is something different.....because it has more power ,a superlaggy engine, not very advanced differentials and a short wheel base.

put a audi sport quattro e2 engine in a renault 5 turbo maxi and you will have a much more devastating result.

i dont wan't to push this too far offtopic, but i really dont think that 4wd is the most difficult transmission type to drive at the limit. a good 4wd handles pretty neutral while the other car types understeer or oversteer.

if someone does not notice that his car is 4-wheel drifting he should worry about his perception, not his car.

i'll stop now, this is about lfs-balancing not about group b quattros.

you have to be pretty clumsy to do that telephone pole trick with a 4wd. in a rwd you would have spun seconds ago in a fwd you would have hit the tree 20 meters in front of the pole HEAD ON.......AND you just have to kick the brick from the throttle and you 4wd is stable again.....again, try that in a rwd.

driving a car at its limit is always difficult, but 4wd is definately the easiest choice.

i dont understand how the AI can help in balancing the cars. the AI is the most undeveloped part of lfs and its performance is very weak.

even if the AI is faster in one car, its still far away from the limit. the only thing such tests prove is that the particular AI that is used (it is known that each AI has a different performance on each track/car combo) is faster with one car and slower with the other one.

imho, the AI cannot be a benchmark for anything.

its like testing the performance of sportcars with jeremy clarkson on the wheel. thank god we have the stig.

Quote from nihil :LOL... I have never seen anyone on a public server (including STCC) slow for a yellow flag. Standard practice is to keep the right foot planted and blast through...

so? if someone decides not to watch out and crashes into the non-moving car, it's his fault!
most of the time, you don't need to brake anyway. just watch out.

i would like to have a bigger autox area. i like to build to build little racetracks, so i am running out of space all the time.

if this is implemented, i would like to have longer walls, too. just to keep the number of objects down.

p.s.:
sad, that most of the replies completely offtopic. read at least the first post, before you comment.

why not remove them, till the devs come up with a better idea? shortcutting in the blackwood chicane with a tbo isn't faster than staying on the track. it's slower and more dangerous. the original layout from the devs is definately better for a clean race. in your layout, the tyres are way too near at the track.

aahhh, i tried at again. i know, no discussion wanted .
