mod update was more important at that time ! It brings new people to the party (and so some funds for the devs), while the graphical update may not bring that much in the end !
Anyway, you read it : Scawen is on topic with tire physics, and the graphical update is very advanced => so we can expect things to move forward 'soon' Wink .
We just wait for Eric to spam us with some Fern Bay 2.0 teasing screenshots Tongue

17.5mpg seems to be 13.5l/100km => with the amg cars I had (v8 aswell), it sounds impossible to reach this unless you are on highway driving at a constant speed for a longtime Big grin . In normal condition, 16l/100km was quite good by being very gentle. While on highway I could effectively reach 11.5.

Do not know this car model nor even the brand, but it looks nice and sexy ! The seats look very nice !

Have thought for me, I will have electric engines soon instead of the mighty NA v8 ... Shy

U7 was a test patch for 0.6U version.
When you ran the 0.7D version, it embeds everything you need already, so you should not install the U7 test patch onto the 0.7D Wink

Kepp faith Scawen, you will do magic, we are sure LFS Big grin
Indeed splitting the thing seems a hard job ! Better to be sure to have everything under your hands before starting the journey !

Good Smile .
What about splitting LFS into multiple threads : still an option currently or too much changes to be considered ?

I put a picture taken on my polo coupé from 1989 next a ds3 : yes the ds3 is of course bigger, but it is not that huge anyway. At least, looking at the XF2 next the XF GTi gives the impression that the XF2 would be an SUV Big grin
So lfsrm, as you are certainly more expert on this topic : do you think LFS cars could maybe be too "small/narrow" compare to a classic value ? As I am sure you did some great computation to make the XF2 looks real.
Maybe comparing it to a real car like the raceabout on which the real dimensions are known would probably highlight if some tricks in the computation done by Eric have been done Tongue

I agree with the point but aren't lfs original cars from the 90s ? I would expect less differences in size even if of course the xf2 has to be bigger as it is produced (😁) around 10 years later.

Quote from NENE87 :I feel that's more reactive maybe 1450-1500 if 1750 is too much higher? But this is just my feeling, i don't know if it's real.

Idle RPM is not that high on road car. 800-900 is quite ok on such car, even if the engine size would allow lower. 1st gear shall be short : usually you expect reaching 50-55km/h max in the limiter, what makes it not really usable when 'driving' unless you are stopped and expect to move the car.

Quote from lfsrm :The car general dimensions are fine (compared to other small hatchbacks), it's the car width around the windows/pillars area that are a bit too large, that's why I should've gave some more thickness to the interior panels and narrowed the whole top of the car when I started this project.

it's fascinating how interiors ergonomics expose all the flaws of exterior design !

I understand the comment from versiu : when you put the xf2 next to current LFS cars : it looks very huge Smile

Anyway, the changes done are very good Thumbs up , the car feels nicer, even if the base setup makes it quite brutal by losing the back (clutch pack lsd is increasing the thing). Anyway, as expected, it looks beautiful ... this and the RB4 2.0 are clearly beauties ! Can't wait to have the graphical updates on the tracks to admire these !!

very nice and beautiful Thumbs up (as expected Big grin Big grin )
Physics wise, for the engine I would see more the car having a redline at 7500 or 8000 rpm. I know LFS original cars (fictional ones) have a quite high redline, but sounds a bit fantasy to have 9000 in a small gti car Smile
Regarding the base setup (not to race), I made some quick testing and by softening the springs/arb, getting a bit more ride height, less camber, a shorter 1st gear (road car Tongue ) and a basic viscous lsd (open diff not really good with current physics), it feels very cool Tilt Petals. Brilliant !

I see your point and indeed the magical 3cyl era came to life with Ford 10 years ago and the 1.0 ecoboost Big grin
As this car intends to be mid-2000, the turbo engines were not really used in these kind of vehicles (non-diesel of course). So indeed a 1.8 or even a 2.0 NA is probably even more appropriate (i.e. : a Fiesta ST was having a 2.0 producing 150hp, a swift sport was having a 1.6 doing 125hp...)

it is indeed very nice Thumbs up ! Really matching a real car that may exist !
For the engine, I would also be more expecting a modern small turbo engine. Like the 1.3 from its ancestor with more modern power output or even a downsized one like a 1.2 or 1.0 with 3 cyl producing something like 150hp Big grin .
But your hand-built toy, your choice Tongue

Quote from Scawen :...
When that Scirocco is released, people are going to drive around in it and I can assure you, they won't be just unbelievably happy about the experience for the next several months. Most likely they'll do a few laps then wonder what all the fuss was about. It's pretty crazy really if you think about it.

It will bring ESP and electrical differential (applying brake on the spinning wheel) in LFS => just add torsen diff and we are close of having most of the classic system used on road cars ! This will then allow doing even better mods regarding the handling Wink
Of course having aswell an ecu like rallycars (those who practice(d) RBR will understand) were used to have would be interesting (not sure they are still having this technology nowadays)... Ya right

This is indeed funny as we faced a longtime ago at work (and even recently)on our industrial application for hmi, this particular issue of 49 days leading to a crash.
It took very long times to detect it, because there was never any cases in which the application or even the power supply have remained operational for more thn 49 days Big grin
Glad it is under control on your side !

but this apply only if you make an exact replica with the logo of the brand, in this case, Amynue seems to have changed it, so ...

Quote from Amynue :Already denied because "we can't permit LFS models to be used in LFS".

God what a waste of time. I worked so hard to make it perfect. Should have released it back in 2010 Taped Shut

Let's wait a few more decades, maybe they will finally release it into the game as part of the Historic Cars Pack

We can drive trashcans now, but Scirocco with physics slightly off (yet way ahead of what would be possible in other games) - unimaginable Zzzz

strange ... cannot you make it an 'R' version if proposing the exact model being sensitive ? As I do not think there would be a rule for tuning the FBM or the mrt5 for instance ...

I agree with you, 'ombre' is more for shadow. The term "shading" is barely translated when applied to graphical things. Oterwise it would be "nuance" ... but never heard this in videogames thing Big grin
