Great arguments.

Setups have big differences because we all have different driving styles, and drive and set up our cars at different skill levels. One set won't work for all.

But different engines, there would always be the definite best setting (until we go to silly amounts like > 1000hp) and unless you deliberately wanted to be slower, you'd have to use it.

(All the native english speakers, please correct my tenses, they're killing me)

Quote from lalathegreat :Are you saying its impossible, for someone to have two different engines with different characteristics in the same class?

It's perfectly possible, but not likely going to happen. This has been discussed to death and beyond - if you allow engine modifications, in few weeks everyone would just be using the best settings for each track. Right?

Quote from March Hare :What major modifications does a car need to be a "drift car"?
Apart from having:
  • Been lowered
  • Ridiculous amounts of camber
  • RWD
  • Dorifto graphics plastered all over
All this you can already do in LFS so why do many people want a "drift car" added to LFS?

Apart from the looks (spoilers, bodykits, wheels) maybe wider steering lock, different tire profiles and compounds, a rollcage...

Quote from scania @ tristan :Your opinion is nothing any new things for LFS is the best

No it's not. But even if it was, it's better than already tuned cars (whatever it means) I think...

Quote from jibber :I wouldn't say it's as hard as rocket science, but to say it's easy in a way like "no need to practise lines or tweak setups, no need to care what other people do" sure is a bit far from reality.

Dunno, I was just speaking from my own experience. If I join a race on a combo I've never raced before, I'm having a hard time to keep with the others that have already been racing there for a while, because I have no clue about braking and turn-in points. But if I'd join a drift server, it's just about flooring the pedal and countersteering.

Quote from March Hare :And while you're at it could someone PLEASE tell me what a "drift car" is?

Easy. It's a car that's modified to perform better in drifing. You could aswell ask what is a drag car, a race car, or ice-cream van.

And on topic, drifting is popular in LFS because it's fun and easy. You can just jump to any server or track with any RWD car and start drifting. No need to practise lines or tweak setups, no need to care what other people do.

You have now advertised your page for 10 days and what do you have? - Almost 1MB background image and an internal server error?

I'd like to have a kitchen table or garden from Micro Machines.
Seriously, one thread like this per month isn't enough?

Just use your own account details to unlock LFS on his computer. But make sure he doesn't use your license when you're not there!

I have silently been wondering this since I got G25. Definitely Option 1 + tbo. I believe I've never driven a road car with just 2 full turns of steering radius.

Good suggestion!

Quote from batteryy :manne=someone who speak finnish lanuange good, hes stupid and born somewhere else than finland

This one went right over my head.

"Manne" is a romani person, or a gipsy. Not very liked among the mainstream, because a lot of romani don't want to acculturate in the society, meaning that they quit school, break the law, don't want to work and stuff.

Finland and Sweden do have quite special Romani cultures I think, at least I have thought that gypsies in most places are poor and not so well dressed, when here they drive fancy Volvos and Mercs, wear golden jewelry and expensive clothes.

Slow in, fast out. But most of the time I take it too seriously and brake way too early and not hard enough, resulting being not-so-fast out. I prefer oversteer over understeer, and soft setups over hard setups.

You have a point, actually a good one. But calling names didn't help to deliver it, at least for me.

Sorry for the poor English ^

Your suggestions are improving, arox. Good direction!

1) +1
2) A bit pointless indeed.
3) Like private messages? Good one, although already suggested.

I've never driven on a race track, but I strongly feel that competitive XFG setups require more unreal driving style than competitive XRG sets, and that's makes my car choice.

Do today's phones run Symbian faster than 2-3 years ago, or has the software bloated at the same pace as hardware performance has improved?

Haven't planned to switch my 6630 any time soon though, as it works just like it did 3 years ago, and there isn't really anything new for the money at the market.

Quote from feat :Mh, new pic, fked it up at the end with all the JDM tyte parts & all that shit .. :/

Would be nicer if it were more lighter. I thought I have a good display, but if I can't see the details well, some CRT users won't see anything but the headlights.
