I think it's totally pointless arguing about it for the very simple reason that 99% of the time when something in LFS is implement it is never reversed/changed because of pressure from users.

It's here and I'm pretty (99%) sure it's here to stay, so the only choice is to deal with it in your own why, break things in your room, slap yourself then just get on with playing the game.

Quote from Chrisuu01 :do some of u guys already bought the ful version?

and can u skin with demo if yes in wich foler is de default ore are the thinks yoy can skin located?

Also where do i put mi setups when i download them?

The demo can add skins but it's not like LFS, every other game I've skinned for has been a pain in the ass compred to it.

The skins are .pnt files so you have to unpack, this gives you all the skin files (.tga format) then repack all these file back into the .pnt file to make the finished skin.

Luckily it's easier if you want to just add already made skin. First you need to unzip the bike.PKZ (it's just a renamed .zip file) into the gpbikes folder. That lets you access all the files needed, then it's just a case of putting the finished skin file in the relevent bikes folder, E:\Program Files\GP Bikes\gpbikes\bikes\noale_r250_07\paints\I_put_the_skin_here.pnt, for example.

The setups go into your profile folder, then just follow the folders to the right bike track combo.

Very quickly made skin, its early days with the tools. No blank skins had to make my own dodgy template.

Guy you need to be a lot more organised than that.

What cars to run, which track, number of laps, pit stops, points system, league forum, number of races, qualification, race times and dates (organising different time zones), etc, etc......

Even if you want to get an idea of interest you need at least a basic idea of how the league will run and what it will contain.

Making/Running a league is a lot of work and needs loads of effort from both the creator and the entrants, you need, clean racing and committed demo racers and a lot of them.

Like I said before, the thread title says nothing to make a demo racer looking for a demo league top even look at this thread, its even in the wrong section, and from the lack of interest in the other league it might tell you all you need to know.

And start looking around the forum more - http://www.lfsforum.net/forumdisplay.php?f=191

They run a demo/beginners league, they would be the best people to talk to about futrue events.

It has been done.

In fact, the first post in the leagues section - http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=42490

Search the league section for demo leagues, you'll see any running and past leagues.

Also, better thread titles will help you get what you need, this one doesn't say anything.

Quick multiplayer review.

First off there are basically no servers up, I've seen 2 servers over the past 2 days, both yesterday. BUT more and more people are getting into the game and organising server times so this will obviously improve over time.

The net code seems to on the weaker side at the moment compared to LFS, it has terrible connection/disconnection lag when someone joins the game goes into slow-mo, then speeds up again to catch back up. If you're in a turn then your lap/race is over, don't think the disconnect lag is as bad but it's still there.

The over all lag level seem a tiny bit high, but that could be down the server, didn't really pay attention to the pings, was too excited to find a server.

There is no collision detection right now, the dev does say this on the forum in the intro to the game spiel. This is probably a good thing right now, don't think the net code/people skill levels are up to having col detect anyway

There also seem to be masses of tire smoke coming off other bikes under braking, could be setup but I think it might be something else.

The sounds of other bikes seem to be just as loud as your own bike so it can get a little confusing; other bikes just seem to be very loud full stop.

Those are the main online points I think. I my opinion it has been released a bit early, a couple more beta testing weeks would improve it no end. The forum could also do with being a tad more organised, but I don't think the devs thought it would catch on so fast.

But saying all that and like everyone is saying the game is very good and has so much potential it's unreal, hopefully things will move forward fast.

Quote from duke_toaster :What tracks are in the full version?

http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=318361

It's a VERY early alpha, 2 tracks and 3 bikes. One track is made up and the other is basically Laguna Seca.

Quote from DieKolkrabe :@garph: Because this isn't the official GpBikes forum. I'm not THAT dumb. (Despite trying to prove it...see my last few posts :P)

Any forum that wants any sort of official reputation or is moderated and run well, for any game, will not tolerate talk of cracking or illegal threads at all (unless that why and what the forum is about) and YES you are that dumb.

Just so you don't confuse yourself and everyone else.

The PING (first picture) is only displayed in the server list, this is to do with the internet connection.

The FPS (second picture, top left corner) is only displayed in game and it is do with, basically, how fast your computer can run LFS.

Where are you getting this 200 number, PING or FPS, just to clarify.

Question

I tried to edit the tracks.pkz to try to get the Monterrey track to work in the demo in place of Lime Rock, it wouldn't start

If people who talk about cracking LFS get banned why do you think it's OK for any other game?

You get what are basically a MotoGP Yamaha and Honda, look more like the big 990's not the 800's, colour variants with all 3 bikes. The second track is Laguna Seca.

It's just starting out so there isn't much but I loved it just like when I first played LFS, hopefully it will get stronger and stronger.

I'll post some screen shots later if no one else has.

I've already highsided the beast going over that crest and lost the rear under braking going into T1.

Using the d-pad and buttons on my DFP at the mo, might plug in my controller and give it a good go, I'm liking it.

Either add some cash to your LFS account to download the hi-res skins or go into the MISC option in game and select the 512- 256 option instead of the higher ones.

High resolution skin downloads
Live for Speed automatically downloads the skins of other people's cars when you are online, provided the skins have been uploaded to LFS World. These are in low resolution by default. If your computer, graphics card and internet connection are good enough, you can auto-download high resolution skins instead. To use this setting, you need some LFS World credit (that is, a positive balance on your Live for Speed account). We need to charge for this service, because of the increased bandwidth and the need to provide and maintain a special skin web server.

You can put some money into your LFS account by making a payment here at the main site or at LFS World. You can also use a voucher if you prefer. Then when you have a positive account balance, you can turn on high resolution skin downloads inside Live for Speed. It will download high resolution skins until your LFS World credit is eventually used up.

The price for this service is 2000 skin downloads for £1 (1 UK pound).
When you download your first hi-res skin, you will be assigned 2000 skins and £1 will be deducted from your LFS account balance. This assignment happens every time your 2000 skin downloads are used and for as long as you have at least an account balance of £1 or more.

It is a great case, plus the new ones have 2 cable routing holes in the case so cable management is not a problem anymore.

You might need the 24pin and 4pin motherboard power cable extensions, I did for mine.

I also used a cable tidy kit, was a right pain in the arse to fit but worth it in the end. It's extremely geeky but I'm very proud of it all.

And I got an additional side panel fan, not a neon one just a plain clear plastic one (Antec Tricool) as there is enough blue coming from the rear fan for me.

Looks good, you'll love the Antec case...I love mine, probably more than I should, but set the fans to high and it sounds like a jet I have them all on low and it's bascially silent.

I'd stick with that CPU, I wouldn't really get a lower one and overclock it, it can be done but you'll miss out on the higher FSB and cache. Dual cores are more than fast enough, QUAD's only start to pull away when using certain applications, would be a good future upgrade. Also the stock cooler that comes with the retail package is more than good enough.

The SLI is a good idea as well, give you the option to stick another card in there if you want to.

I might go for a little more powerful power supply, but thats it.

I was able to take it back to the shop and get my money back, pretty simple really, I just said why I didn't like it and job done. Didn't really have to explain myself either, just asked if I could have a refund and that was it.

If anyone is thinking of getting the U600 I would say DON'T! The touch screen style call buttons were way too sensitive and I kept calling people when I didn't mean to, ending things I didn't want to and the touch sensitivity options didn't apply to them.

You also couldn't turn off the navigation tones (that only applied to the number keys) so you had to turn the volume right down to stop the constant and low quality noises to stop and the hiss noise got worse the more you moved around with out a break for the tone to end.

It was VERY slow compared to my K800i, especially in accessing the memory card, a good 3 or 4 seconds before folders opened, music (same goes when playing music, a long wait for the next track to load) or videos started and pictures loaded. All that with the k800i is basically instant.

The camera needed a lot of tweaking to get a good picture, if you leave it as it came everything is too dark, needed constant
tweaking to get a good picture and it was slow.

You couldn't select default location for contacts, sim or phone, unless you want a double of every name. You have move all to the phone then delete everything from the sim, not a good idea.

You couldn't use a tone and vibrate for messages, either tone only or vibrate only.

And the biggy, you couldn't see the screen in sun light at all.

Too be fair it did have a few good points, it looked great, the video camera recording quality was 10 times better than the k800, even though it did take ages to save or load up (but the picture quality was worse).

Glad I've gone back to my trusty k800i, it is a much better phone, even though it is a little big. Sony Ericsson do everything I want, think I'll stick with them next time.

Thanks for the advice all and sorry for the long post but I had to get it off my chest

I brought a u600 from the Carphone Warehouse and was wondering if I can return it for either a refund or exchange.

The phone works fine there are no faults but it is very slow and the screen is basically unviewable in day light, as well as a few other minor issues I have with it which I can live with but the screen is a fairly major issue.

I got it about a week ago and was wondering if I could take it back for a refund or exchange but I don't know if I can do this or not?
