Rally cars are strong but there are limits, even RALLY cars are only a little bit stronger.
The car he jumped was probably toughend up a little more than normal and you have no idea what damage was done on the landing from watching the video, plus it was only 1 time, you have to do that multiple times in a dirt2 race over much rougher landings.
Dirt2 is not a simulator.
I enjoyed dirt2, we played it a lot but its not really realistic, it's a fun arcade game, and the list of things that are no realistic would be long.
If you attack one of the LFS rally tracks the same way you would in dirt2 you just understeer off and crash, damage would end the race and the jumps (which would be on the list for not realistic in dirt2) would destroy your car.

There's probably a millions reasons fear, panic, car not starting, not really making any difference if they went forward or backward, etc etc also the fact that it would probably make it a million times worse. God knows what would happen if he tried to drive off the front, the car could to anything.

On board graphics will not be good enough for LFS, I can't beleive you are not going to get a video card. IF you are lucky you will be able to play on minimum settings, on your own. The more cars racing and at places like south city the shittier it will get.
Plus you wont be able to play any other games.
Any SATA2 hard drive will be fine, you can get a 250/500G pretty cheap now. Nothing is unbreakable btw.

The problem with these kinds of threads are that every car maker will have it's horror stories and equally people who have never had a problem at all. So saying buy French (bahahha, sorry) or saying buy Toyota or Nissan (GTI first car, again, bahahahha) or Ford cause I've never had a problem, really doesn't mean much.
You need a cheap car so search for you price range, not a particular make or model, see what you can get then check out the website clubs that are around for that car and look for the common problems.
When I was looking for my first car, I searched for the money I could spend (about £500) then settled on a few makes/models I liked and went to see loads of them.
Just do the basic checks: HPI, check oil, water, tyre wear, check for leaks, if the engine bay has been cleaned it could be to hide something so double check things like that. Listen for knocking or tapping noises on a test drive, try and do some full lock turns and listen for noises (drive shafts) see if it tracks in a straight line, not pulling to one side. Check the height or the brakes, hand brake lever and clutch pedals for signs of wear/life left. Try and get long tax and MOT's cause that's an expense to try and avoid just in case it goes tits up.
There are more so if anyone has them....

You can change the RAM voltages and timings in the bios to what ever you want so don't over think it, buy what you want.
The RAM sitting in my Intel system is at 1.8v. I had to change it (and the timings) becasue my motherboard didn't detect the correct settings.
