Had some good racing on FE Gold tonight with the dual class formula. Seems to work well although some FO8 drivers need to remember that they approach FOXs so fast that the FOXs don't see them coming.
In the GFC the onus will be on the driver behind to take responsibility and pass cleanly, regardless of what cars are involved.
OK my video expect (DBP Stoney) has sorted the video problems for me. I will update the Track Guide tonight and download a copy of FF to check all works fine. Will post to let you know when it's done.
OK all I've just totalled up the votes for the day and time of the events and we have a clear winner from your 1st choices. I'm pretty glad about that, saves me having to total up 2nd and 3rd choices.
Option 11 has 9 votes and is a clear winner by 4 votes. Option 2 was the next closest.
So that means the Gentlefoot Formula Challenge will be held at 20:00 GMT on Sunday nights. That equates to 21:00 BST here in the UK.
I will schedule the events for the weeks between the OWRL events so we don't clash.
I will add this information to the forum which is now up and running. All entrants should go and register so I can contact you easier. Through the LFS PM system is a nightmare because I can only send to 5 recipients at a time. We have well over 40 entries now and climbing.
The other turns are so simple as to not need any guidance. I don't bother numbering turns that are just flat acceleration zones. If you don't like it write your own guide. lol
Storm_cloud (one of the fastest FO8 driver in the world) gave me some additional tips for Kyoto GP Long. So I've created a section in my forum for the really fast guys to post their tips on the tracks I feature in my guides. His tips have helped me already. Check 'em out.
T4 text - aah yes - I took a section out and thought I'd selected everything when I moved it up but missed a bit. Re-publishing now. Thanks for pointing that out guys.
I've got a video expert working on a way of making the clips work better. I would like FF users to be able to see this stuff obviously.
You may have to wait a few moments before they kick in. There's a lot of data on that page. They are just AVI files and I used the XviD MPeg-4 Codec for compression.
If it still doesn't work try downloading Virtual Dub which is the tool I used to compress them. Page works fine for me.
Finally I've have completed the first track guide. I'd love some feedback so please go to my website - www.gentlefoot.com to see it. It would be much appreciated. I have recently added a lot of content to my site. There is now a full LFS section which you can get to by clicking the LFS logo in the top right hand corner of each page on the main site. Track guides include nice images of each corner and onboard footage of me doing a half decent lap. Also speed traces and track maps.
So far there is only the one guide for the FO8 around KY GP Long. I will add more in time.
My server - GentlefootFormulaRacing is set to this combo and you could also use the FOX if the FO8 is a bit much. It's set up for the Gentlefoot Formula Challenge (GFC) that will launch once patch X is released.
If you are interested in the GFC I have also created a section for it on my site. There is now a forum where you can read about the event and sign up if you want to. There are no details about rules etc yet because I've spent my time building the webiste but it'll be there soon. Need a break for a few days now though Been flat out on it.
I'm hoping a few people may read the guide and then go turn a few laps. It would be interesting to see if it makes people learn the circuit faster.
Anyway, have fun lads. Hope to see you on the server tonight
btw - there's a clip of me in the Golf round Brands Hatch on the About Us page of my main site too. Might be worth a look
OK all I've been working hard this weekend. I built my friends Dad's website on Saturday morning so that's out of the way. I then turned my attention to my own site. I've now added a whole LFS section. This will be the home of the GFC. I've created a forum and all the sections that I will need. Feel free to go and have a look and add it to your favourites Register and make a post in the forum if you like.
I'm not finished for today either. Just about to tot up the votes for the day/time of events and I'll post that information in my forum shortly. Can't schedule the events yet as we need to wait for patch X to be released.
I might even get one of the track guides done today.
Oh yeah and there's a totally cool clip of me at Brands Hatch on the "About Us" page of my main site - check it out.
