I understand that but whether he has said something you or someone else, you have to distinguish (sp) between Victor as a dev and Victor as a mod. As a dev he can talk about lfs and be all nice as a mod sometimes you have to be hard.
In a way, scavier need to be extra vigilent moderating (in the sense of what content is posted by others) this forum as it is their forum, their community and their game.
Without a link for us to see for ourselves it is hard to judge.
However though: I have been around this forum quite some time now and while there seems to be more and more 'stupid' threads I wonder occasionally whether that is simply because I have been round long enough to know the answer myself.
Victor is a dev but on this forum he is a mod too. You make out that mod are gods on fourms and should do no wrong etc. Being on this forum as well as others, there are occasions (some very good occasions) where mod's have to step in and have a go/shout at someone over something they have done or doing. Now while not part of the day to day moderating it is something they have to do too.
To be perfectly honest whil you and others would make a small bit of difference it wouldn't change things too much. The reason I say this is because it seems the people who are complaining are on the basis of lfs is dead, no updates from the devs in terms of whats going on and no new patches etc.
I don't this lfs is dead by any mean just resting. Ive been here a fair few years now and with everyone playing less over the summer and coming back now people want something new and there isn't so these threads start. I didn't play at all really over the summer down to personal reasons but playing again recently I am enjoying it again and enjoying trying to be as quick as I once was. Sure new content (whether car/track/physics etc) would be good but I am still happily playing it as it is now.
Speaking simply then you have got it right. Superchargers are always running so will produce boost pressure at low revs as it runs off the crank pulley. While a turbo needs exhaust gas to spool and to have enough exhaust gas needs higher revs = lag. Superchargers have the advantage of low revs though while a turbo charger doesn't. Supercharges don't work too well at higher revs while turbos do. So the advantages of twin charging is obvious as it offers the best of both worlds.
The same goes for 2 turbos as well, a smaller turbo to spool quickly and a larger turbo for higher up the revs. Also if a twin turbo is set up correctly you can have the power gains of a large turbo while keeping a (relatively) smooth power delivery. I have seen it in where a small turbo is used for low revs and the boost from this turbo is used on the exhaust side of a larger turbo. The time I saw this though was really for just showing off the turbos was still interesting to see.
There is alot of factors though that effect spool time. Taking it to an extreme take a turbo off a smart car it would be useless on a boat engine as it is soooo tiny. While visa versa a smart car would never produce enough gas flow to spool a boat turbo.
Edit: I don't know the 'scientific' definition of spool time but it is simply the time, or revs needed, for a turbo to spin enough to produce boost pressure.
The WDC comes down to driver as well as team. Both must be quick in order to compete for the the WDC. Whoever has the best car/combo will compete for the WDC and will win the WDC.
Everything else about who should of won, deserved to win, whose a better driver etc is all speculation and open to interpretation. The only way to truely compare drivers would be to put them in a single car and see who wins (but god forbid anyone mention single manufacturer for F1).
Hamilton won the WDC meaning as a driver, driving a McLaren he is the best on the grid for the season. The end!
Very true, although that was down to his qualifying. Choosing to try intermediates in those conditions was stupid and such a costly mistake regarding his grid position. Had Hamilton started close to his normal grid position then, I belive, not even Vettel could of challenged him for the win. I say this because if Hamilton hadn't of had to make the extra pit stop to change tyres then it seemed likely he would of caught Vettel.
As I said I don't think Hamilton is the best/fastest wet weather driver but as a package of Hamilton + McLaren means he is the 'best'.
Now while I agree with you tristan that there are better drivers in the wet - there aren't many and, short of mechanical problems or n00bish driving, no one will beat Hamilton as his skill in the wet on top of the fact he is driving the quickest/2nd quickest car on the grid means, in my opinion, he will win.
Well if you think about it, assuming there are no mix up due to weather or something stupid (read: ferrari cheating) then the top 6 are likely to be massa, raikkonen, Hamilton, Kovalainen, alonso and kubica though which order who knows. It is likely to be that the 2 ferrari's and 2 McLarens will take the top 4 (or with Kovalainen top 5 with someone else 4th) so looking at it like that Hamilton has the championship. What happens in reality could be completely different though. I want a good fair race first and foremost and it would be good too if Hamilton won the WDC.
Learn something new everyday as never seen that on the site that its upto people reporting you. Oh well, fell out with them as a picture I took and vectored got removed, complained got told i could put it back up so I did for it to get removed again 2 weeks later for copyright reasons again
Don't be angry you forgot the 1st and most important rule in conspiracy theories: The theory should be as far fetched and as illogical as possible so that non believers can find obvious floors in your ideas.
Ive not personally had any videos deleted from youtube as don't upload videos but I have suffered at deviantART. While policing obviously needs to take place it seems on all these sites the policing is working but there is always seemly random policing on people who don't need it. I had my vector images of cars removed on deviantART as I used a copyright image, fair cop I did, and had them removed for it but there are thousands of vecotred copyright images on it. Its that policing of websites I don't fully understand and disagree with.
Err last time I checked 2 inches was 5.04 cm. 100cm is 1m. 1m is 40 inches. So how deep was your snow?
Snow is rare in this country nowadays due to our temperate climate. Has snow here yesterday too and by this morning it was all frozen hard with ice everywhere.
From everything I saw Alonso left because he fell out with Mclaren for not being given number 1 status. Alonso wanted the -"I must win, and you, driver B, good luck". That is open to interpretation though as what actually happens internally within a team is kept private mostly.
Why has Massa had more failures than Raikkonen?(from memory so might be wrong) Maybe Ferrari don't actually want Massa to win the WDC and are letting McLaren win. Things happen, thats all.
Though not the thread for this discussion, so on topic:
Lets hope for both Though I wont rule out some dirty play but I do hope the race is a good race and all is fair.
Whatever happens I hope the race is clean amongst the top drivers and the best man wins the race. Then we shall see who wins the WDC.
That is harsh. I don't know how McLaren decide who has the heavier feul in Q3 and whether it is a team decission or drivers. Without any replies of 'fanboy' - there is no denying that LH has been quicker than HK this season. Yes HK has been quicker at some tracks/times of some races but the season as a whole is massively in LH favour.
I am no fanboy of Hamilton though ofcourse I want him to win. I support him even though some of his mistakes will go down in history.
It seems though from reading this thread that many of the reasons people 'hate' Hamilton are the Mclaren issue last year with Alonso or down to media hype/coverage that isn't anything to do with Hamilton. Though when you think about it to be able to 'hate' someone you don't know personally, when all you really see is their media face aswell, seems stupid to me personally. A driver should be liked or disliked because of his/her actions on track. While Hamilton has done some stupid things he has, imo, got an attacking driving style nd actually makes moves which I love.
Wow long no see man, Will have to try and catch you on msn one day
As for the mass; I know in the fzr for example where extra mass is forced but you chance the position I always had it to the front and it made me quicker. The only reason I could think of for that though was the weight at the front balanced the car to a more even weight distribution. Though why people would add mass to any of the cars that don't have it as manditory I don't know.
