1 of the 2 reasons I am looking forward to today (the other being england v wales) Though with that 'cover' over the car it looks like an lmp car.
The wings seem stupid and is an artificial way of creating overtaking but i suspect that the same drivers will keep on winning so results probably wont change much.
Some of those cars are looking good. Though talking about it at work, the Mercedes reminds me of a duckbill platipus with its flat nose. (replacement to the williams wullrus maybe?) Can't wait to see how these cars run.
Nice idea with the renault though, makes me wonder if it will be 2011's DDD / F duct with the other teams copying throughout the season. Though a friend was telling me that McLaren is supposed to be a bit radical but I haven't seen official rumours of it so its either BS or my unleet google skills.
As for HD, no racing needs HD. All you need is to be able to see what is going on and you can do that with in SD. Does it matter if you can read all the smallest sponsors on the side of the car or not. I will say though, it is good they are and it will be a small improvment but no game changer.
Looking at the past my monthly usage averages to between 15gb - 20gb a month. Some months are quite alot higher but there is only a few. ISP is virgin and they don't bat an eyelid at me so unless I hear anything from them I doubt I will change my usage.
I found it annoying also that amd overdrive shows temperatures wrong even though its designed for their chips. The average is around 10 - 12C lower than the actual cpu temp, so stll 23-25C. I do like the 1090T seems to run quite cool compared to other chips too.
It would be a shame if it did, sharing photos from nights out would be a much bigger pita without fb. As with alot things, fb at its core is good but the people that (ab)use it ruin it.
Thats a bit far filur, the i7 in the spec isn't 'new tech' and you can argue end of life but hardly obsolete. There is nothing out now, and I doubt for quite some time, that will cause the i7 950 to not be quick enough.
@ JO53PHS: Sandy bridge is out, they are quicker but then it is more expensive. I would say it depends what budget you are on but the i7 you have specced will be fine. What will the pc be used for? and what is your budget for this new pc?
I think for now I will race the skip barber but keep practising with the mustang and getting it set up for the tracks. Watching some replays it does seem a good car but at the moment too much fighting going on to be quick or enjoyable.
Just did a skip barber race at summit point, was horrible though too as it was more demolition derby in the mid field. Oh well, onwards and upwards.
Haha I agree with that. Bought the mustang and skip barber to try and the mustang is horrible. Maybe my driving is partly to blame but I cannot get the car balanced. I seem to understeer everywhere or I dial it out then I feel I am in a drift competition I oversteer so much.
Also bought the chevvy impala to try some proper oval racing instead of the legends. Time to see how that goes.
Regards the off the road penalty, what is wrong with that? Its annoying when an incident forces you off the track but normal racing just stick to the track it isn't difficult. Though does feel sometimes its alot more harsh in handing it out but watching the replay usually shows how wide you really were.
Bit of advice from people, just got my D licence so next cup to race. I am looking at the mustang, skip barber or jetta but which is the better ones to race?
Apart from a few items that were not in stock on ocuk I have used them for my whole build. Personally I cannot fault them for their service, everything I have ordered came when they said (apart from last one but that was dpd's fault) and rma'ing my ram a couple of times was a breeze. Both posted on sat, they would of received it on mon and tuesday I had new ram. After second time it was suspected my motherboard was faulty and 'killing' a stick of ram so were willing to rma my mobo for me too, but second set it working fine.
Sounds like a suck up post but ocuk and specialtech are the only two sites I trust for buying pc stuff from these days and use without a moments worry.
Edit: Forgot to mention, dpd lost a parcel somewhere in the whole snow problems but a minute call to ocuk another was issued and received the next day.
Hmmm interesting, will have to remember that as could come in useful. At the moment tend to only be using mic for pre/post race chats so both being on headset isn't too important. Having enough trouble deciding between my xonar dg or X-Fi Fatal1ty pro cards without adding anymore for now.
I generally didn't like legard for his mistakes and pointing out the obvious I can see already. Possible problems of coming form the radio I would guess. In saying that though, I don't know if Coulthard will be the best commentator. I don't know if we will get another Murray but I liked the chemistry between Murray and Brundle. Murray with his excitment and Martin with his calmer but detailed knowledge. So not sure how will it will work with Brundle and Coulthard but now there is at least hope.
I remember reading this in the magazine last month I think it was. Very interesting story I thought, would be interesting to try with few more people to see if it really is natural skill that comes across in the game or whether the game is what led to the times being quick.
This is why I am doubting getting GT5. GT2 I loved played for hours, but 3 and 4, I found too sterile for lack of a better word. I know it will be arcadish in its physics but in GT3 and 4 I never had the impression I was driving a car. Whereas FM2 and 3 I found really good and immersive but seems some people are finding the sterile problem with GT5 too and others are loving it.
If I had a PS3 already I would take the punt but its the fact of buying the console too. Guess time to read some more reviews before deciding.
