Going to sound slightly troll post but it isn't. Reading people reactions from another forum seems people are saying that GT5 is better than FM3 in terms of graphics and content but FM3 is is better physics and AI. I know physics are subjective but wondering if anyone else who has both is finding similar?
Asking here as we are all LFS'ers so hopefully have a reasonable appreciation of physics.
Not read the whole thread but interested in this now it has come out. I know you get the premium and normal cars together but do you get the special ones too? They were called black edition or something and were all black/carbon fibre but can't find it on google.
Also interested on how people are getting on with their g25's and gt5 as its what I will use if i pick it up.
Been a good few years since I worked any of this out but isn't it only the centre of gravity and the axis of rotation for the car? In most the COG is above the axis of rotation causing it to shft to the side when turning and causing the top of the car to lean to the outside of the corner. If, as on a few vehicles, the COG is below the axis of rotation the COG still moves towards the outside wheels of the car but the car will lean into the corners but from thinking about it there should still be more weight on the ouside wheels in both situations.
This could be totally wrong though as I can't remember the actual maths behind it but just thinking about from what I can remember. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
Few things for sale, thought I would post here to see if anyone wants them.
EK Multioption Reservoir X2 150 Advanced - sold
Corsair H50-1 - Sold.
And finally, due to custom watercooling, moved the top fan of my case to the front so I have the red led 200mm fan from HAF 932 for anyone who wants it. Fan is only a couple months old. Official stats of fan are
# 700RPM
# Sleeve Bearing
# 12V
# The fan has four red leds
I only just managed to stay until the end of the race so missed the credits. Good video and the song fitted but the song isn't great. It isn't bad I just don't think its anything special.
Is that the one where you have to avoid the helicopters search light? If it is that one, the only way i found to do it was to literally run into the back of him and follow him like that.
Yeah it is fun with the rc xd's. Managed to stack 5 of them on a free for all match the other night. 5 rc xd's = me sitting in corner getting my last 5 kills with them and you have to slow the slow mo replays of the last kill with them.
If that coolermaster case uses similar mesh drive bay covers as my case then there is a gap between the mesh and the surround. All I have done is unclip the mesh, cut some cardboard to size, colour it black and put it in place and put the mesh back - Job done. I don't know whether the mesh is the same though on the 690 as the HAF.
Google should be able to provide you with more than enough arguments on which is better between Intel and AMD. Generally it falls that Intel are better performace but higher priced than AMD. Whether you are willing to pay for the performance is your choice. This does depend on specific chips though so comparisons are your friend.
Whether you got the 1055 listed above or the i5 they will both run things easily, but for gaming personally I would say, if your budget can fit an i5 in stick with it as gaming will be better for it.
Regarding the graphics card, I agree with shotglass, the GTX470 is overkill if you are just going to be playing things like lfs, iracing etc. I haven't tried iracing but lfs on my 470 at 1080 with everything on max and every high res texture I can find still looking at about 160 - 180 fps at the back of full grids which is far to excessive. Unless you are going to be playing some of the graphics heavy games, crysis being the overused example, I would think about a lower spec graphics card to save some money.
I would shop around as some of those prices seem a little high. Try checking out Overclockers UK as prices are usually competitive, also might be worth checking out Amazon as I have seen some nice prices on there at times.
Powersupply, Agree with shotglass again. Go with a well known branded one as. They are more expensive but generally are more accurate on their supply and generally more effecient.
Cases, keyboard, mouse etc - Again agree, you don't need gaming high spec ones but you are the one who is going to have to look at it and use it for next x number of years so worth buying what you want if your budget allows.
No offence taken I am sure other people will come along with some more advice.
I am an AMD man really so don't know much to recommend on Intel motherboards, but a friend suggested the MSI P55A-G55 motherboard.
With regard to the i5 CPU, as long as you go for the 760 as true quad core cpu then and a high as you can afford graphics card you should be pretty much sorted for gaming.
Past that, you have chosen your case so pick hard drives you can, optical drives are cheap as chips these days, maybe even blu ray drives as only ~£50.
Sneakily robbed from thread on another forum - total is about £720 - £750
Yeah it will have to be something like that to help mute the noise of the pump. Also going to work on blocking up any uneeded holes/mesh like the dirve bay covers. Haha, no what it is missing now is to pull out this dvd drive and put in a blu ray drive
Ps: Well done for guessing that was my rig in the pic :P
Tisty how does your loop run, seems a bit overly complicated from the picture. Wouldn't of been easier to go res => pump => gpu => rad(s) => res ? Like this:
In terms of fans, generally speaking you need fans on the radiators used. It all depends on what you want from your pc. Passive cooling is possible for leaving PC's on overnight if downloading but as soon you start loading cpu or gpu fans have to be used, albeit low rpm, as you will never really get enough heat disapation without them.
As for just pc case fans with watercooling, usualy good to have some to get some fair flow through the case. Mine now runs 200mm fan front and side, 120mm at rear and 2 120mm on rad in top of case. I want to remove the side 200 though for a full window but at the moment 200mm fans run at 500rpm and the 120mm are running at 900rpm. While still means fans I never have to change the speed of them whether idle or gaming to suits me, unfortunately the loudest in my case now is my pump which I am trying to make quiter.
@ LogitekG25: google is your friend but yes they can leak and yes they can destroy the whole pc but that is why you pick the right blocks, tubing and fittings to reduce risk of it and also leak test at the beginning to make sure there are no leaks when it comes to power up properly.
So boring earlier it did look silly trying to race but now its dryer than it has been in previous races. Love the fact Hamilton is saying it is fine lol.
Who cares what people own, if they are happy leave them be. You could argue a ferrari is a waste of money when a smart car does the same job but it isn't the same.
Quoted for the doube truth - the card runs games so well and running for me in mid 60's C then soon heats up room.
I agree with some of the posts above, this forum seems to have lost the plot sometimes. Since when does any racing game (yes I said game because no matter how realistic it is, its still a game) and games are for fun. Who cares if it doesn't handle 100% like a F1 (not that you would know though) as long as it is fun. Those people who have said they played it for 5 or 10 minutes - Instant gratification much? There is no way you can judge the full extent of a game and how ti handles in that time. Maybe forming an idea but no way a 100% representative view.
