I am really counting the days to this now. While I know expectation only leads to disapointment, I am really looking forward to this game. I know it will be like the previous forza's but I want to play around with all the new features and play with the old features some more. Also those reviews do nothing to quench my desire for this game. Bring on it on.

P.s: Has anyone else delibratly set aside time for this game? I have got the Monday and Tuesday off (26th/27th) so I am thinking 4 days of forza 3

Quote from niall09 :Don't drink too much of the pear Bulmers...unless you want to be spewing shite all over the walls in the morning

Ah don't worry, I know all about that problem with drinking pear bulmers. Its so yummy though. Have to say recently been drinking WKD Core - its crap compared to proper drinks but its cheap and weirdly tastes like apple tango so I drink it.

Edit: Also cheeky vimtos are good but get drunk too quick on them (Blue wkd, blackcurrent and a double vodka)

This man speaks the truth. Though I have found a love for the pear bulmers and blackcurrent - absolutly lush in my opinion.

Quote from BlueFlame :comment and rant

I completely agree. While the race wasn't the most exciting in terms of overtaking, as with any street circuit there was the constant sense of anything can happen. If anyone did find the race that boring, or formula 1, why bother watching it if you are just going to complain.

Overall though - Hamilton drove a perfect race and deserved the win. Button was plain lucky but drove well, Rosberg was stupid but his pit stop mistake was slightly understandable.

While anything can happen, I think that Button's lead is too great now for him to be caught. We can only wait and see though.

Quote from Batterypark :So, LFS isn't quite dead yet it seems. But with the team asking for payments for S3 when S2 is still in alpha state... goodbye. It was a fun four years when they still seemed to care

Quote from Tomba(FIN) :I'll join you with that

I do not see how you can say this for the simple reason that no time has been put on it. All that has been said is Rockingham will be S3 content. Yes LFS is S2 alpha but S2 will eventually stop being alpha. So who is to say that S2 wont become full S2 then Rockingham is being released.

Either way, personally speaking, if the devs released Rockingham tomorrow I would pay for it. My view on LFS is that compared to other games it is very cheap in price vs gameplay. Take most of the big titled games they are £30 + and more usually these days more around £45 and for that you get the 'story mode' which is 20 hours maybe plus some online to keep you entertained for a while. So you get maybe 100 hours game play for £45. LFS is £24 and I know personally I have spent many hundreds (if not thousands) of hours playing it. So LFS is very cheap and for the stability of LFS, the physics, the constant (even if slow) updates to improve it etc. even £36 is cheap and I would continue to support the davs for more updates.

Don't take this as me being a fanboy, I just think LFS is very good value for money. However it is only my opinion and if you disagree then that is your opinion but, as stated above, I can't see how you can have your opinion when no time line is available on these releases.

This is a difficult question to answer due to it being different for everyone. However, the advice above is good advice. The way I built up to it was I took all the cars on blackwood in singeplayer. This way you are taking unknown cars but on a known track. Once I had a reasonable understanding of the basics of the car (e.g. fxr: 4wd easy to drive, Fo8: fun car, fast but careful on the throttle, Lx6: omg it wants to kill me) which took a few laps. Go online with a car you like on a track you don't know, if you want do a few laps out of the pack learning the track. Then race at the back of the field and you will notice you are racing people, overtaking and battling for position.

I think the best advice is don't worry about it. In the end it is a game and if you make a mistake you make a mistake. As long as you are not wrecking people, if you crash accidently just apologise and carry on. There are ofcourse those select few who will have a rant at you for an accident but just ignore them lol.

Quote from Boris Lozac :I gotta be brutally honest, on these pictures it almost looks like a PS2 game

I know it's better in motion and all, but still..

Thats like saying race cars look stupid with big rear wings but they are better in motion. I agree the graphics in FM3 are not z0mG! but they are good and taking the graphics with the physics it is good. Now I know about the bullshots that were realeased but i suspect they were in photomode which will up the graphics. Also on the pictures, one of them looks like laguna seca (not yet released) so possibly not final pictures of how it will look. We wait for the full game though before we can judge properly.

However, I liked the demo and I am looking forward to the full game. However (just for you Boris ) while I do love FM2 and will most probably love FM3, I agree it seems from the demo that it isn't without its faults but then what game is.

I didn't get to post my views of this last night but thoguht i would before I start work in a few mins lol.

Overall - I am really impressed. Yes there are a few faults with the graphics and some jaggies here and there but a big improvement in my eyes to FM2. Physics wise - I think there is an improvement. The way the cars gain grin feels alot more real to me as in FM2 under certain conditions (maybe a bug?) it seemed to take a long time to gain grip back. Though I found that even the ferrari seems unwilling to oversteer or drift, that could be down to set up though. The main improvement I have noticed over FM2 is the tracks seem alot more inolving with the bumps with the cars bottoming out, the hump that throws you off at the end of the lap. I suppose you could say it as the tracks just seem more alive which I always felt in FM2 that they were a little sterile.

Overall, there is still some things I think they could of done and maybe will be fixed in full game. Either way it is an improvement and I wont be cancelling my pre ordered copy.

I know this is major bumpage but just passed the 2 year anniversary of his death. Browsing through youtube I found this and this is the most fitting topic for it (even with the bumpage) I think Nicky Grists comments at 7:37 says it all.

Onto the skinners competition,
This was an interesting contest. The skins were all designed well but there was one that stood out for me that was well designed and featured multiple design over layed but didn't look clustered. So the winner of the skin competition is : e.M

Congratulations to both Ring and e.M I will be PM'ing you in a short while once I have purchased the vouchers for you.

Quote from carey :I'd be disappointed if I ended up getting 2/3rd’s of a game.
Oh no, I guess they’re completely unrelated

If you entered an won, you would be getting the full game at the moment. As we don't know when S3 will be released or how much it will cost I cannot give away S3 licences. As we are at S2 I am giving away S2 licences. However I did not say that it was unrelated, I said this isn't the place to discuss it. Im sure there are threads in which people have questioned the licence system before. This thread however is for people to talk about or enter the competition i chose to run, not to discuss (or argue) about LFS licence system.

Quote from 5tag :That's very good. I just wanted to make sure there are no errors in the display of my post and that you can access the skin files without any problems.^^

Seems to be working fine If there is any future problems then I will PM you for the skins again.

Quote from carey :If S3 came out before Christmas it would.

No it wouldn't - My comment was really that in a thread for entering a competition to win a licence isn't really the place to discuss the pro's and cons of LFS, or any other sims, choice of licencing system. If you want to win a licence feel free to enter but doesn't change that it doesn't matter to this competition, how the devs chose to operate the licence system (apart from the actual licence obviously.) If this was NKPro i would offer a free licence, if it was iRacing maybe a couple months subscription etc. its not though, its LFS so its to win an S2 licence.

Quote from 5tag :Erm... I'm sorry to disturb you but did anybody recognize my post or did it just disappear in some weird kind of digital hole?

Yes, I can see it I didn't post anything about it because until the competition is over I am not making any comments on anyone skins or times.

Quote from carey :With my nkpro licence I can play whatever new car or track that comes out.

I don't understand your comment really. LFS and NKPro are done differently. I am giving away LFS Licences and so they will be subject to how LFS is licence. It doesn't matter to this competition how anyone else does their licence systems.

Quote from carey :Until S3.

Quote from e.M :when s3 comes out u can still play s2

Agreed. For LFS you buy a licence, which means even when S3 comes out you will still be able to play S2 content. Just like now there are people who are S1 licenced but they can only play with the S1 content. This includes online, you would only be able to race combos where the content is S1 and not S2, or S2 content and not S3.

Quote from hereticlohani :True. Skinning ability comes from aesthetic sense, skill in graphic designing software and long hours invested on ideas. One mustn't assume that the only thing separating one from this ability is procurement of a software license. The same ability may have been developed independently, so it would be wrong to assume that all those who work in graphics have necessarily been drawn to it from games.

Well said

Quote from DanceCat3 :One Question, how long does the S2 licence last?

A licence last you. LFS isn’t a subscription based game, it more like normal games. You pay once, you play as much as you like.

Quote from Grigg94 :Ye thats exactly what im saying some of the skins are better than the majority of s2. That is good work you must seriously love lfs to spend that much time on a skin.

While I agree it would be possible what you said about S2 users but then again, even S2 users spend many hours (I think my longest skin took about 15 hours to make) so yes we skinners do love lfs.

I don't think you can attach in a PM but you could always upload the images to imageshack, imagebanana etc. If you zip/rar then I don't mind which one, I can open both.
