JTbo - Yeah, my project car is getting ally seats, no good for a street car unfortunately ...

I think his tyres got too hot, looked like most of the preceeding corners he was getting a lot of push at turn in.

Anywho, the 4-belt harnesses work better than regular ones as long as they're properly fitted and adjusted, and if you get an old enough car the seats are mounted plenty good enough

Now my problem is that with a helmet on there's very little room above my head to the roof - when I duck below 15 second ETs I'll want to get a bucket so I can get closer to the floor ... that'll be a couple of years at least though, lol.

Quote from Linsen :Edit: All I can seem to find on mobile.de and at autoscout24.de is the Saxo VTS which has only 118 hp and even that is rather rare.

It also weighs less than a tin can Wink

Quote from Viper93 :Still 1 out of 2 in the UK isn't bad, I think that guy is moving soon aswell =)

Yeah one of two is good - like my '84 Daytona Wink

As for the Corrado VR6 - tried to get one of those through an MOT for my cousin a couple of years back, it was a complete PITA to work on and after pricing up the parts it was uneconomical to repair. The Sciroccos were good though Smile

If the Clio floats your boat, also check the Citroen Saxo VTR (or VTS), they're similarly light and usually cheap as chips.

Quote from Viper93 :Are you sure that that wasn't from the USA military Bases? I am thinking I will have the only perminent ACR in the country but I have not way to know for sure. I plan on going to the nationals this year =)

It did belong to a US Serviceman, but was UK registered (along with the SRT4s).

Quote from Viper93 :If you like Mopar wait until you see an ACR =) Mine should be here by the end of March =) went to your site BTW, very nice and I will look at it more tomorrow =)

Be sure to join up There's already an ACR in the country, saw it at the Mopar EuroNationals last summer along with the SRT in the front page photo ... there was also a nice Cobalt SS attending, getting beaten by the Mopars Unfortunately I didn't get more photos or talk to the owners 'cause I was busy in the gantry, 'helping' with the commentary

Quote from bal00 :And then you'd have to get emissions certs, swap out head- and taillights for ECE-legal ones etc. to get it registered. At that point you're closer to 22k Euros.

lol, havn't got that for any of my cars, just added a slowing relay to the indicators. But yes, VAT and duty is a rip ... buuut, you don't have to pay VAT on a 2nd hand car, so just buy from a serviceman whos going home or something

Its a shame that most of Europe now encourages scrapping of old cars on "Environmental grounds" ... anywho, a new-ish hothatch for that money shouldn't be hard to find. If it were me, I've get a Chrysler Neon R/T - a lot of car for the money. Seats are also good value for money these days, or there's always Skoda. A Lotus Proton is good in the 'cheap & cheerful' category.

C16+4, C64, Amiga and Amstrad CPCs don't count as games consoles! The Amiga CD32 and Amstrad GX4000 were derived consoles though ...

Quote from (SaM) :Fun for a while, then went back to PC gaming. Consoles still don't interest me as much as PC gaming.

Agreed 100% for any hardenned gamer, however for a "quick blast" or if you have friends round, nothing beats a console game.

Case in point - with four friends who have had too much beer, the appeal of "Fusion Frenzy" on the XBox was great - one of the games is controlled by just 2 buttons, which is about as much as you can handle at that point ... this also applies if you have kids and their friends descend.

Quote from JTbo :Sure it is rather nice for being arcade game, beats Need for speed games hands down, but calling it to a sim is bit too much, imo

Need for Speed 1 was pretty sim-ish. I played that to death ...

Do you need to have a new(ish) car? I'd have thought being in germany you'd be up to your armpits in G40 Polos.

Screamer 4x4 was a good (if basic) off road sim, shame it was badly programmed. I really enjoyed F355 Challenge on the Dreamcast, going back in time Car & Driver had great physics and I remember Test Drive 2 had proper gear shifting. Hard Drivin' in the arcade was great (with the key to start it), and Grand Prix 1 was ahead of the competition (though not my thing).

Indianapolis 500 was the second best game to have one track (after Hard Drivin'), Nascar 2003 was good too ... hmmm, could go on ...
