get the history straight, it was called CART... then split into Champcar (which later becomes CCWS), and IRL~
IRL also have a couple of road/street courses on its calendar, namely Watkin Glens and St Petersburg~ (does it still race on Infenion~?)
Open wheel oval racing is silly, there've been a few absoblutely dreadful and terrible deaths in recent years, one of which doesn't find its way on TV because it was way too sick to be shown on TV...
Tony George said in an interview he wants to keep the calendar mostly ovals... which is crap~
this is not good for the fans nor was it good for the sport... CCWS was starting to really become a "world series" in terms of drivers and circuits used, what it needed was more exposure...
at least CCWS was considered by Red Bull to be perfect to dump their extra drivers that ain't young anymore~ now they've no where to go~
"merger" my bottom...
this is more a case of IRL taking over Champcar... ><
I always liked Champcar way more than IRL, but at the end of the day, the really rich guy is Tony George...
stuff 2008 America open wheel racing, they're going to be using those ugly Panoz and race on ovals 70% of the time... what I do hope is they get rid of some of the ovals, bring back the brilliant Champcar road courses, and use the Champcar chasis/engine/push-to-pass for road/street courses, as well as their standing start~!
and why Surfers Paradise has to be a non-championship event in 2008~? =.="
or perhaps they probably forgot the existence of Pedro, or are angry that Pedro didn't get promoted to become a race driver~
FIA has given a harsh warnings that they would not accept such behaviour and if it continues, the worst case scenario would be the Spannish GP might be cancelled~
why don't u shut up and get the physic side of things sorted out first...
the main difference, in a FF all you can do is to set up a car to have it sliding around like hell and most of the time use the handbrake to drag the ass out... the car is pretty much continuously losing momentum, which is ok if u've got a tightening corner or a short corner or whatever... but no matter what in a FF "drift" all u do is to lose momentum...
but if the corner is long and is straightening at the exit u'd need a FR to drift PROPERLY... for basic reasons which I hope u should've known...
ooh, and can you please define your defintion of what is a "slide" and what is a "drift"~?
I thought it was a bit of both~?
surely he didn't move all the way to Switzeland just because of tax... it can be a major contributing factor through~
PS. on this topic, I'm sick of the media, especially British one, for going crazy about LH... it's hardly his fault...
Spain were all crazy about Alonso too, just that what they wrote were in Spannish and most of us won't have a clue about what's being written and thus chose to ignore it...
but surely Alonso would've made the news in Spain just as often as Lewis did in GB...
obviously FIA and McLaren has some sort of discussions going on, probably something along the line of:
We're totally stuffed by everyone on earth after the penalty, or rather the lack of it, for the Renault spying case. So we would like to close all the spying cases down if you can offer to the world some sort of apologies, then we can move on and enjoy a nice Christmas and New Year with nothing to worry about...
I thought he was also refering that most cars can take that chicane at nearly full throtle (if not at full throtle) before, but now since they're entering it at a higher speed and a tighter radius, some lifting and braking might be needed~?
same old torrents site, I hope u know where these are~
or hopfully V8 Supercars official website will have some sort of very brief highlights, for free... or you can watch the full race on there by paying I don't know how much...
and on that topic, Dale Earnhardt Jnr was at Phillips Island, and he made some interesting comments afterwards, something along the line of:
How technologically advanced these teams are operating at is beyond believe, their computer systems can do so many different things and the data acquisition system were truly mind blowing, and we never get to mess around with the fuel injection system in NASCAR, but they can~!
on the Massa part
1). he's not a crying baby like Alonso is~
2). it would've been stated in his contract somewhere not to whine about things like these, we know Ferrari...
I'm sure LH must be thinking again what he done wrong in China... that was just idiotic really, and now that cost him the championship..
