Only way I can think of someone getting a car that's not active is by logging in as an admin and temporarly unlocking the car, selecting it and then locking it again before entering the track.
Been a couple of inches of snow here for a few days now, schools in this area are open but then we're used to far worse in Scotland Although I'm hating the people who drive at 30mph on a 60mph speed limit when the roads aren't even slippy! They gather a huge que of traffic, especially at busy work times etc. One of these people even came to a near stop to let a tractor out in front of them of an already huge que of probably over 25cars...
Didn't ask for anything except the number off the bottom of the wheel, sure the manufacturing date was well out of warranty but they still replaced it. As I said, I fixed my old one and now have two sets of wheels and pedals .
Yup I didn't cut them off either. I very much doubt they are going to bother chasing people up, it's a waste of resources when you could just rewire the thing.
Whats the chance they even check the cabels? I also couldn't understand a word the guy was saying, so trying to tell me a great long address was hopeless
You don't ask to buy pedals You just tell them they are playing up. My pedals started spiking, I phoned logitech excpecting to have to fight quite hard to get a replacement and within 5mins of talking to the guy he was asking for a delivery address. About a week later a box arrived for me with a whole brand new wheel. I fixed my old one and now have two sets of momos :P
Last time posting in the rF forum? About 5 months ago and it was on the topic of vehicle dynamics. Yes I do have the game otherwise I wouldn't be working on this...
I'm genuinely surprised it's over so quickly, maybe because I haven't gotten into the game, I don't know. If they are going to charge another £25+ (depending payment method) for an update or whatever they are going to do I'll be disappointed. Considering I was told back before rFactor was released by some big fanboys that LFS was a rip off...
I believe the whole idea of `The Stig` is because they can't get the same driver to do all the runs. So rather than have critics saying that the tests aren't fair, as they wouldn't be with a driver of different ability in the car.
http://www.realgpx.com - 3DEditor is the tool required. Although you'll probably have to read up on it at http://www.grandprixgames.org to understand how it works. It does the hard work for you, makes the 3D mesh etc.
If you read my post you would have realised that track editing was made possible by L02k and now is probably one of the easiest games to make a track for...
I've been working on a small program using VB6 and Stuff's OkSocket. My problem is I need to find out when a car starts its flying lap in qualifying. I can use PlayerLap for everything else but since they don't complete a lap when they start their flying lap I'm a bit stumped on where to go with it
In karting you often have a lot of different classes running during the day, all using different tyres specifically for that class. If you see a class that is running harder rubber after the karts with softer tyres have been out you'll see there tyres with like a new layer of rubber on top which is made up of the softer rubber. They pull the rubber back off the track. Especially in the cadet class where you often see them taking a wood plane to the tyre to try get it all off.
Thats why F1 drivers complain sometimes if the Porsche cup etc have been on before there sessions.
Then theres also the fact the weather washes the track clean again. Hence why this would be better in S3, although sadly I believe weather conditions will hardly be used in public server when they come as is often the case with these sort of things. People cry out for them, then they get them and don't take to the challenge so go back to the same old combo...
It's the only F1 game that I can think of that has good AI. The AI actually fight you and attempt to pass. The wet weather is still probably the best available.
You can make GP4 more interesting if you turn off all the driving aids
Most ISPs seem to give you the best possible speed you can get from your line. It will all depend on how far away you are from the exchange, from what I can understand. I've got an up to 8mb service but only get 3mb downstream.
Yea, GP4 has awesome AI from what I remember and the wet weather is probably still leading the way. You can pick up GP4 dirt cheap and download the mods: http://www.grandprixgames.org. GFX look awesome with some hires cars and tracks.
Track editing was made possible just over a year ago so there are also new tracks
Thats the best dedicated F1 game your going to get for a long time...
I'm sure we will see it by S3 along with changing weather conditions Scawen said in an interview S2 is about the cars and S3 will be about the changing track conditions.
This is a big factor in wet weather driving so I'd hope we'd get it. Obviously the more polished less abrasive build-up of rubber comes slippy in wet conditions thus you take the `karting line` on the more abrasive part of the track
Keiran
edit//bbman: The rubber gets thrown off the tyre onto the side of the track which makes that part of the track very slippy. A lot of people describe them as `marbles`.
No luck here either last night. Takes days to load up a session and everytime I try to play online I get some error to do with Steam API :/. Menu is poor, had to click 5 times to get past one button, it did the little animation and noise just didn't take me anywhere.
You've hit the nail on the head. Single player games have no miss-matches with different versions. It's up to you the user to decide what you add to your game and it wont cause any problems. I played GP4 for a long time because of modding but that was down to its lack of multiplayer.
LFS is the most sucessful online racing game. Look at any other game and try find the numbers you find online in LFS. The reason for this? The simplicity of getting into a race. No faffing about looking for Silverstone V0.4566778.2 or Renault F1 v0.002 which is then on crapidshare but you can't download anything from there as it doesn't work.
Modding and online gaming will never work alongside each other unless the game has a system built into it to deal with it and even then that would annoy the hell out of most people waiting for huge amount of files to download, killing the 56k side of the community.
The developers couldn't approve mods. They would be officially linking themselves with copyrighted material and I very much doubt they want the likes of Bernie or Sony banging on their door .
You get the full game from later on Today till sometime on Sunday, then after it will lock it up unless you buy it or something to that affect. Never really used Steam before, just got it with Half Life 2 so don't have much experience with it.
