Here are all three of fourteen races (well that I can remember) where Fisi has beaten Alonso in either Quali or the race. Not a lot really and considering most of them are in quali where fuel load plays a part... You don't score points in quali, they come in the race. Haven't bothered putting Hungary in as the only reason Fisi out qualified Alonso was the penaltys, which I was against one of them. Passing under yellows my arse... but thats another story
Malaysia Quali
1st: Fisi
7th: Alonso Race
1st: Fisi
2nd: Alonso only 4.5 seconds behind, basically holding position as I bet he could have taken that race win if he was allowed to.
Australia Quali
2nd: Fisi
3rd: Alonso Race
1st: Alonso
5th: Fisi +38.421
USA Quali
3rd: Fisi
5th: Alonso Race
3rd: Fisi
5th: Alonso +12
One race where Fisi has actually out performed Alonso
In nK there is practice, quali, race ... well the servers I've been on. It's quite nice carrying tyres through the sessions but then we'd all just pit and put new ones on before the restart like I did in nK... Go To Pits > Tires > Mount Front - Mount Rear > Goes racing with new tyres.
Nearly every forum I visit people are going he'll do great, he will win etc. Well when you look at Nico someone who beat him to the GP2 crown he hasn't really performed at all since the first race.
Did I say anything about Rosberg and Kov winning in there respective cars ...
Although I'm pleased to see Kovalinen in the seat I still think Renault could be making a huge mistake. Fisi will only win if he has a huge car advantage otherwise he just falls asleep and goes backwards.
I can't help but feel that Renault thought they had a very good chance of taking Kimi before they came up with this driver line up which isn't very strong. One novice and a guy who has yet to perform this year when compared to Alonso.
I'd have thought F1 cars clutches would have been made of/coated in a high bite material so surely if he was a bit hard on the clutch it wouldn't have taken long to wear it out...
Our watercooled mini moto that we have left over burnt two clutches out in the about 30seconds on a flat bit of road. Had to send them away and get them coated in .... bah I can't remember the name of the stuff now.
tbh I still think your boardering on upseting the license holders of that particular cars/series.
For example rF has added Silverstone into there game but renamed the track to its location or something like that... now to me thats like me scraping off the Sony badge on my PS2 and putting K.Smart then selling it in bulk to shops, I'd get sued for all I've got by Sony if I did that.
If he stays on for 07 there is no way in hell will he let the team put Kimi in the sister car.
Thats the difference between him and other greats like Senna, he hasn't had to fight his team mate. He has had the car made for him and the team built around him, Senna had to get on with it and race his team mate.
He probably has more control over the team in his contract than the team owner does
Exactly what I've been thinking Only other thing I thought about was to have LFS World Weather be wrong at times and not being able to predict the weather with 100% accuracy in a week in advance etc
It would just be a waste of time as the novelty of it would soon wear off. How many people race the long Aston cofigs which are great? I hardly ever see them getting used and they are only 2-3mins long. A huge track like that doesn't promote good close racing which is why I play LFS... Not to be only own for a whole 12mins.
Hotlappers have been complaining about Scawen wanting to start them from pitlane because if they make a mistake on there flying lap they have to do the outlap again. So if they don't want to do a 1-2min outlap what the hell is the difference into doing 11mins and making a mistake at the last corner?
Not really the case, Senna started off being crap in the rain when he raced karts. He could beat everyone in the dry but in his first wet race he was terrible.
First though before dynamic weather we need the rubber being laid on the racing line to actually affect the cars properly so when it rains that part of the tarmac is smooth making it quite slidey in the wet. Thus you use the `karting` line on the rougher part of the tarmac where the tyres can bite better.
BTCC is a flaming disgrace. It's supposed to be Britain's premire motorsport yet it's a complete joke. No drivers go onto better things from there and ask any driver on there way up the ranks they will have the clio cup or formula renault on the list over the BTCC. The reason for that? More chance of going onto better things.
BTCC is a lot worse than any club event I've watched/taken part in. Germany have the DTM, that puts the UK to shame.
Ermmm..... I've got the MSA handbook and contact isn't permitted. Okay little taps are going to happen but half the moves pulled off in BTCC are blatant "GET OUT ME WAY N00B!!!!". Reminds me of demo servers. The skill in BTCC is hitting the guy hard enough in front to get him out the way without damaging your own car. A skill many of them still haven't got right.
I just love how Tim Harvey (aka Professional wrecker, would fit in with iDi) tries to justify the wrecking and says it's alright. Probably why people seem to think that's correct behaviour.
BTCC is just like the WWF in my opinion, there for entertainment and barely classes as a sport.
I very much doubt F1 will ever be like GP2. It's the nature of the teams developing the fastest cars they can. The thing the FIA could do to seriously help the situation is let F1 teams use ground effects which is what GP2 is using. Less open to all the dirty air.
Something that people need to bear in mind is don't pussy foot about when trying to overtake. Make your move aggressive and hard, that's the best way to avoid contact. If you come steaming up the inside then the other driver will see you. If you just take it easy contact will happen when you both meet at the apex. It's something Martin Brundle even mentioned in the commentary last F1 race.
If someone defends the inside line what you can try do is hold your own and take the outside line. Squeeze them so they have the narrowest line into the next corner. Make sure you slow down enough that you will be able to get under them through the corner. This will only usually work if the person you are squeezing actually out brakes himself a bit running wide.
A fairly good textbook defensive move if you're trying to hold someone behind you who is quicker is to make sure you slow the car right down on the apex enough to give you a good run out of the corner. This way the chances are the driver behind is not going to get a chance into the next corner as you will be on the power first.
Wow, what can I say. It's scary how small this world can seem, I stay just a few miles out of Oldmeldrum and heard about this accident the day after it happened and never thought too much about it.
Tragic to hear this, from what I read on the ESL forum back in Season 2 he seemed like a nice guy. It's a pitty I never really got to know the guy as he may have been someone I've actually met during school since I'm not that much yougner.
It's more to increase the weight of the car and I'm pretty sure they can probably pick up a couple of kgs from doing so. Theres no reason for them to want to increase the ride height ... thats the job of the plank. They will measure the thickness of that.
When did he flip anyone, yet alone Coulthard ... Is that slang for flipping out at Coulthard for overtaking him under yellow flags or what ever the offence was?
Whats the point asking people who you should support? Thats like asking someone what food you like. Everyone supports there own people. Personally I can't stand Schumacher and support Coulthard along with Alonso, Kimi, Webber and a few others. This is hardly something that other people can make a descion for you ... theres only 22 race drivers to choose from.
He will never get a chance at the title, he will always be the No. 2 at Ferrari.
