i've had vista x86 go into sleep mode a few times (thought i disabled it) while spectating at least, can't remember if it happened in other situations..
you can decrease exhaust volume and increase silencers/cockpit muffling...you might need to adjust other volume sliders below to suit. don't adjust off power volume though unless you need to.
it's a bit buggy i guess. i had that same problem many times before and the only thing to do is completely remove the drivers, reboot, install, reboot again. connect the wheel only when it asks you to, not before.
"..if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix."
The Quick Fix Executable (QFE) will be available for download at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940105 on 8/23. Prior to that date, anyone can call PSS referring the KB number (KB940105) and ask for the QFE package which will be made available free of cost to the consumer.
such a small thing i thought i'd post it here...i haven't set a pb for rb4@as2 but if i hover over the spot i can see i've done 17 laps there but there's no laptime displayed.
yes you can and yes it does have an effect on overall performance and memory use. read up on a few guides on how to disable unneeded services, tweaking in general and then make your own copy using vlite. i have played stalker on my system with no problems (med-high settings)
for instance vista runs IIRC 2 services by default which are only useful if you use a tablet pc...i have maybe 25 services starting up automatically - the rest can either be disabled entirely or started manually
vista has been pretty nice actually. after installing it and a few tweeex i was able to run HL2 (the main screen with 3d stuff going on), LFS playing a spr, firefox with 20 tabs open, a family guy episode running and a few other apps open (all windowed) and i was able to shuffle the windows (3d aero thingy)with no slowdowns on any of the programs...all working perfectly fine on my low-end system (A64 3000+, 1gb, R9800Pro)
compliments on the new system, looks good from the spectators point of view too! the racing looked goood...
a small thing, the system seems to stack specced races on the licence too. i joined once to see how it went and went to spec in a few secs..i have 3 races registered.
"My point is that gyroscopic effects are not needed to keep you from falling over when you are riding in a straight line. I am not saying anything about what happens when you actively wish to steer away from straight ahead."
sounds like a hardware problem to me. if you go to the controller options and pull the paddles repeatedly with varying force does LFS get the button presses?
hi. i wasn't being very serious there. if you are that clever good for you, most people aren't. still, i think dynamic lod reduction should be defaulted to 1.00 unless it already is.
If I keep LFSW & Live Host Progress (on a busy host) open in the background (FF 2.0.0.4) I get constant "clips" in sounds and the graphics stutter. All this goes away if I close the tabs in question. The clips & stutters don't happen exactly when the progress is updated but it does seem to cause it.
Thought I'd mention it here whether it's a website bug or not..
