Check if "Report combined pedals" in the Logitech Profiler is checked. If it is uncheck it. In the options menu of LFS go to controls, make sure the throttle/brake axis are seperate. You should also see buttons 1, buttons 2, etc until you see Axis, click on that tab. If you push your brake/gas/clutch you should see axis bars on the right moving. Click on the control you want to assign to which axis, then click on the axis.
Good luck.
EDIT: You can also invert the axis if necessary, eg. the thottle / brake are at full even though you aren't pressing them.
I think the line up idea is extremely inefficient and this was proved in the 250. The fifth guy back gets cold as tyres and therefore a worse time. I think this method is unfair and should be.. erm.. changed.
I didn't know this so I tried it. Set everything on and at max in the Nvidia control panel's 3D settings tab, and I only notice an FPS decrease from 100-120 to 40. I think the ingame settings look fine.
Driving and drifting can be very different things. I've heard Scawen's opinion on cruising and his simple reply was that this is a racing simulator. I completely agree. Not a drifting simulator.
I as a video editor find it quite annoying in Shift+U mode when you right click turn, and you hit the edge of the screen with your invisible cursor. The camera stops rotating, and the shot looks terrible and needs to be reshot. I think when right clicking the cursor should constantly be in the centre of the screen.
Think of it like a first person shooter. You don't stop rotating if you need to see an enemy behind you, because your cursor is in the centre of the screen, constantly. You could do endless 360's if you had the desk space.
I heard somebody say on that drift server that it was more realistic, but I've never drifted in real life so I wouldn't know. I'm using a G25 with 540 and it's MUCH easier for me at least. I haven't tried hot hot tyres.
I know that Patch Z has improved car handling, but I assumed that would be for racing purposes. In Patch Y I didn't have a chance at drifting, but I just hopped on a drift server for fun and actually did well on some corners. Patch Z, or better car control on my part?
A big chunk of that is mental state. I know it really shows in CS: S, so I'm sure it has an impact in LFS. If you get pissed off, or frustrated in CS, you keep getting owned and owned. It's all mindset, and if you play for fun and don't care about dying (or in LFS case, losing) you can keep a clear mind and play a lot better.
EDIT:
LOL. I read your post after posting mine and thought it was funny you mentioned Counter-Strike.
Yes it is. Nobody has ever done a hotlap on that combo with that setup with that modified car. Therefore you're the only one in the world. Therefore it's a world record.
Jack managed to reply to my post but didn't bother to add me to the list.
