No idea but he looks fast. LFS demo has more super trained people than normal LFS. I mean he has 33000 laps on the same combo! (and you have around 30). If you want to feel better look at my time, you are 2s faster already Wink

Yeah a whitelist approach would make sense.

Ok it might be better but it might not solve the problem for other complex controllers, joystick (a friend reported me the same isssue on plugging Virpil joystick and pedals...)...

Well the simucube is one ffb wheel plus a bunch of axis (1+5) and buttons (32).
The idea is to have everything setup with only one controller. I personnaly only use it for the ffb wheel even though everything else is DIY too.
I don't know if you could add some line of code specific for simucube... But yeah it is not perfect. I can try to ask Granite Device if you want...

Maybe you could run the test for DI8DEVTYPE_1STPERSON but only auto assign looking axis if they seem to be centered. GamepAd would be fine this way and simucube like controller would be discarded as gamepad...

Well I manually removed these axis, and now I cannot trigger the behavior anymore. Tried simucube on off, 2D/3D/2D Remove steamVR standby, keeps being clean. But anyway but the view is twisted it is hard to figure out that reason first.

Edit: looks like same issue here: https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/93822

When I remove simucube the configuration is then clean, but I prefer to play with my steering wheel!

Well I did the following.
Lfs used yesterday with 3 controllers in VR.
Today, freshly booted pc.
Turn LFS on with 2 controllers Simucube (diy) wheel off. (steamVR goes auto on)
Switch to 2D mode. Control axis are clean (heading, roll, pitch: -,-,-) nothing in the view axis. Side note I didnot close steam VR, stand by mode.
Close LFS
Turn on Simucube.
Run LFS and look at the screenshot, it is all messed up.

Ok I will answer on the second one first. Well it looks like he is suffering this exact same issue. For some unknown reason he has view on a not used axis which is set at 0 or max. The good way to solve this issue is to remove the view axis assignment. It is the good way but it is not an easy thing to even think about. My first idea at troubleshooting this was oh shit it is acting as if I had a two monitor setup. Wrong. Then I did like him and turned the view 45 which is OK in some situation. Some view will be turned anyway. May be a workaround would be to detect this behavior and propose a solution: if view axis is set and fixed value at 0 or max then disable it or propose to disable to the user.
It might happen to people who have a VR setup or maybe who had a VR at some point. Because when switching to VR lfs automatically assign axis view form axis VR. When VR is unplugged or removed or not used the controller configuration change and the axis are randomly assigned to what s left causing this issue.

To answer the first one.
I play 99% VR now but I can do some test later this week. It is linked to changing configuration VR wise and controller wise. I try to keep separate configuration to avoid issue. For lfs I usually have 3 controllers plugged (wheels buttons pedals) plus VR. I also have a setup for flight sims and for other games I use one or two Xbox controller.

Edit: It is look heading that get assigned.

Quote from elputas :To everyone who deals with this problem!! I found a FIX for this but you all have to confirm that.

So the fix for Reverb G2 skewed image:

Go to WMR settings/ Headset display tab / Experience option> put it to "Best visual quality" (everything else i have to the max 1080p>best resolution>90hz)

I dont really know why but this finally fixed it. Hope this helps guys

Good to know!
Annoying behavior, not really a bug but could be done better

When switching from 3D (VR) View to 2D, it keeps an axis view and as the headset is not working, the axis is not center resulting as a 45degrees (more or less, might be fov/2) view on one side, it feels like having one monitor of a twin monitor setup.
I know the issue so I can correct it pretty fast, but people than dont know they have to remove the look axis will go mad.

You should open a new topic or contact devs by email. It is rare that they dont fix stuff like this.

Quote from Fat-Alfie :I have something similar, using a Samsung Odyssey+ WMR headset, and it makes LFS unplayable in VR Frown

If I close my right eye and move my head around, the left view appears to be okay - it moves slightly as I would expect it to.

If I close my left eye, the right view appears distorted, as if by some exagerated perspective. If I look to the right, the left of the screen moves away from me; if I look to the left, the right of the screen starts to move away.

Up/down movement is fine through both eyes.

The image in the right eye may be slight stretched side-to-side, too.

This is a new issue as I tried LFS when I first got my Odyssey+ (about a year ago) and was blown away by the quality of the image. Now, trying to play just makes me feel sick. Some bit of software has changed between now and then Frown

Did you try the dll from here ?

That's stunning, Thanks Scavier for the work.
Even the fences are looking better.
The only thing that bothers me is the video store... well there is not that much left currently...
As "Fern Bay and further graphical improvements can be done after the big update." that means to me than the release is not so far anymore. I am excited!

Edit: and thanks @Degats for the comparisons!
Edit: I am curious who edited the video? It is very smooth and relaxing, and the tunnel with the light at the end perfect!

Would it be possible to have some tweaks in lazy directly to match wheel rotation degrees to arm and wheel rotation in car? I drive VR and it would help for spatial awareness!
No issue other than that.

G2 is the new hype. I guess more people will have this one little by little. Hard to get, expensive very high res, it is a top choice for flight sims. For racing it could have better fov and for gaming it could better controllers. I am happy with my index...

Off topic, for casual printers black and white laser are the way to go.

Around 98 I had my first printer, a HP... It was a good printer but the paper feeding was badly designed. And there was an angle on most prints... Of course there was no review about neither any fix... I have been careful avoiding them ever since!

Damn that sucks I hope you manage soon.

I have tested u18 so far. Doing some RX and drifting not yet very controlled. It is very cool to test it the same weekend I test my diy handbrake.
My diy gearbox should be done within a month. Can wait to test it with the H pattern as I felt the need for it.
The huge steering lock really make it for impossible recoveries and huge angles.
It would be cool to add a standard setup for the first time, like hard track and rally cross...
Great job.

Quote from Aleksandr_124rus :Interesting! Waiting for it. But i have three more questions now Uhmm

Will the new tire physics include twisting of side tire? (like on pic)

W

Well as far as I know dragster like in this picture mainly use diagonal tires and currently LFS is modelling radial tires. The twisting is already taken into account by the longitudinal slip, but it is not rendered. LFS was (one of?) the first to represent carcass lateral bending anyway.
