My two cents from the steam stats: https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/
It looks like 95% runs DX11 capable GPU. That might be lower for lfs as it is a heaven for low spec pc racers, and I understand they would not like to be dropped off. But DX11 is pretty comon now!
Thanks Degats that made me realize how much stuff has been added, that's just a crazy amount!
Big up for the work Eric. And of course the new rendering and lighting from Scawen is great too!

There is something odd on drifteris performance and data. In U9 if 100% frame are under 12.5Hz we are at 80Hz dead on. But for some reason the cpu is limiting in U9 and ruining it in U10. It looks like for some reason lfs is using a cpucore that is already saturated by something else. It could be a bug a bad 1000Hz mouse driver hard to know. But there is a cpu load issue here.
Edit: and it looks like the 1080Ti is capable of rendering at almost 1000Hz even at those high res.
Thanks for the report! Appreciated.
I am not playing through linux and wine but maybe that's an issue.
For me if it is looking better and as smooth it is perfect.
Well the index is long gone but I had huge issue on my msi "gaming vr" laptop running it. I had to downgrade gpu drivers and even like that it was not crazy flawless. Changing the framerate would kill it black screen all the time. I still think it is a shame for the Index not to support 100Hz native and MSI got me mad too. The index also run full size dp with no official mini dp adaptor. As a consequence everybody blames the afaptators... Anyway I loved the experience and I will try again when the time comes.
interferences do that kind of ghost click. That can be super annoying with a normal setup... and crazy with yours. I had a gamepad once with interferences... went for an exchange and no issue on the new one ever. It can be tricky to understand. I also had to solve some issue on a DIY FFB wheel and that requires a lot of smart grounding. Like having grounded cable and NO ground loops, ground loops are evil.
Same feeling here and even more mind blowing is rallycross drifting and getting everything right, I mean at least trajectory and vision switch from apex to far away with an angle.... I had some massive pb improvements from I suck to I suck less..
I tried the valve index for a couple of weeks. I had some issues on hardware and drivers. Other than that it is a game changer. I did not keep it mainly because I am pretty busy and I should not waste time and cough 1100 euros on that. Something was magic but something was odd (turn head to one side and eyes to other side) playing with a track ir.
VR is pure magic. Really amazing on asphalt and even better going sideways on dirt. I will definitely try again when life permit.
I am sure you always program as opening the possibilities, and yesterday while driving under heavy rain I thought, damn that bloom will look badass under the rain! I know it is not for anytime soon but I am sure you will nail it at some point.
Well the global experience is very impressive in 90Hz. No dizziness whatsoever (but I am not prone to it). I can play long session. I can run "fast" (Compared to me which is not impressive) the feeling is so great sideways (I had some quick pb on rallycross blackwood) ! Looking in the cockpit is awesome except in old stuff like Rb4 where it is horrible. I mean you really notice the radio texture...
Pixels can be noticed although it feels like no big deal. Looking far away or at the apex is smooth enough. There are some texture like wall or fence that don't feel right with some moiré. No screen door effect.
On the bad side I can't run it with the latest Nvidia drivers as there is some snafu with msi laptops. I tried to play 120Hz but could not.
As I don't have time to mess around too much, I well send it back, and wait. I might take it again later or take a cheaper 90Hz or wait more.
Edit: valve support told me that 100Hz is a hardware issue. I can't verify that but that could be true.
I really believe it is a software issue. There are ways to setup the vr differently but I failed miserably.
To run at 90Hz I have cheaper option. Resolution is great though.
Rb4 interior is damn ugly. Can't wait for the big update!
