True, maybe my understanding of current prices is not up-to date. If adding RAM later is easy for murray (instructions can be found in youtube for example), may be good idea to start with 8GB and save in costs. Adding another 8GB later when really needed is not big task.
This is quite handy place to make performance comparison between different CPU or GPU http://gpu.userbenchmark.com
Was bit surprized seeing GTX1050 suggested but okay, its the TI model, bit better performance (twin cam ) But what about power supply? Why 400W? Okay it can feed the GTX1050 but what about murray gets more hungry in next two years and wants to buy 1060 or 1070? Then also psu needs to be upgraded. I would take some 550w-600w psu, since the price difference is not big, isn't it?
After watched replay, and the mess Nicolander caused in first corners, I say my opinion that he hasn't enough experience to join such races.
I'm also very confused about motivation of Lefteris4 - he joins the event late, starts from pits, does couple on laps, and then leaves his car in the wall. Seeing that car in the wall every lap was distracting - I was thinking every lap when that guy take that car and makes something silly with it.
Yes Kid, that was quite a challenge to chase you, I pushed more and more every lap, but you did also
yes
assetto corsa folder size with a lotof mods (xtra tracks and cars) 60GB
rfactor1 with zillion history mods 17GB
raceroom folder 30GB
lfs with zillion replays etc 6GB
and other stuff...hmm...have only 32GB left...bought already AMS and rF2 but no space for install
GT 730 sounds crappy beside a monster-gpu, like you wear a Ferrari car with Moskwitch tyres
I would buy cheaper CPU, 16GB ram memory and better video card, for example 60 or 70 series (i mean 960 or 970, or 1060/1070, that your GTX-730 is 30-series card -> low budjet card, not for gaming).
Then your SSD, that 250GB will not hold many games, I have that, and I cant install all sims I want because out of disk space. Take 500GB SSD. (or you can later add another 250GB and make additional installation folders in Steam...)
I would buy at least 550-600w power supply
and about costs - I would buy some items second hand, for example cpu and ram
How would it sound if licensed user can connect to demo server after 15 connections are full? Let say demo server could hold 15 demo users but it can hold in addition 10 more licensed users.
Race could be as it is now, max 12 cars on track. Just more spectator places for licensed users <3 It would be really useful during long nights
Welcome Nicoule! Keep in mind, that you can buy the full stuff also also in pieces - first buy S1, then S2, and then if you still hungry for smthing more, buy S3. It will not cost you more.
Generally S2 contains already 90% of the content. Just to give you a tip.
Just be happy as long as your door lock system don't get frozen so that you are not able to close them at all Another funny thing is when handbrake gets frozen when its ON. I remember once driving an FWD car with handbrake frozen, didnt realize it until some minutes when I was wondering why the hell the back of the car slides like a hell (road sufrace was really slippery, so didnt affect my speed, but steering )
I was very close to not join this race, because I had so little experience on that combo, and during practice I noticed considerable struggling in my driving. I was balancing wich lesson I need more, to race with XFG without burning clutch and destroying suspensions, or to handle the XRG without causing a mess on the track and spinning every lap somewhere. I choosed XRG, wishing for good learnings and challenges. After all, was happy I joined even I missed the possibility to live-spectate a great event. I think I improved my pb more than 10 times during race and finally ended up with low 1.11 pb wich I couldn't even think before race.
Before race I suggested we would remove the mandatory pitstop, and I felt nobody understood suggestion. As this track was very hard for XFG suspensions, it would have been really interesting to see how many of us will be able to do the race without fixing his car. This is in my opinon also one kind of skill. With mandatory pitsop we give more value for entertainment and less value for race tactics. I don't know is this the direction organizers want keep on, imo its bit arcadish way to see racing. Nevermind, I will not insist about this anymore, I think I was able to express everything I had on my heart on this topic, and that's the most important
As a conclusion of my race experience, the lesson was more than I expected. The later half of the race was really enjoyable when my pace was more constant. Even my blue flag periods went quite well, I think, or if didn't please let me know about it. Sorry for Storm who spinned after touching the tail of my pink whale (was not blue flag situation )
Big congratz to Dzidoris, amazing work and nice move to upload your setup to lfs.net before the quali (actually I tested it for one lap and I felt impossible to drive it ). Congratz to all who finished, was amazing to watch replay. So many good fights, and I am also amazed how some racers are able to maintain pace without rear suspensions. Im just too curious not to think, how it would have been continued if the race were an endurance of let's say 100 laps.
Okay, here the vids. Was too difficult to catch all good fights. Amazing that the tight grid survived considerably well T1! That tells something about the professionality level in the league. Big respect for LFS racing community.
First vid is full race using LFS Director.
Second vid, just for comparison, first laps shooted with LFS static cameras.
This blue flag behaviour is interesting question and I see it specially problematic on LFS rallycross tracks. Watched the replay and looked like just.yeman just neutrally raced his own race under blue flag without changing his lines in favour of lapping cars.
On some large tracks that could be even ok (still maybe bit selfish), but on that rallycross track caused significant frustration for lapping cars. On such track I would excpect more flexibility from the driver under blue flag (that could be called also common sense combined with a touch of respect), otherwise it ruins too much the race of the lapping cars.
