I tried to update my new email into this account, but I can't, since I have already "used it" for another licensed account for streaming purposes.
I understand that this restriction is done for trolls etc. but what about if this would be only for demo users? I mean, I should be able to create new account for my email as long as none of my previous accounts on that email are Demo. How that sounds?
Round 1 results page updated with a short video and voucher draw results.
After each round one 6£ LFS Voucher is drawn and after the series two (2) additional LFS Vouchers will be drawn. How to be part of the draw - read from the information document.
I wont modify the layouts anymore. First version was without kerbs, and it was more dangerous since racers tried to cut even more close the wall. Now its more easy to focus when you know its not worth to go too close the wall.
Info page has been updated, please visit it. It contains also a link to Round2 page
Thanks for feedback and participation. Unfortunately "chicane route" will be present also on round 2, though it will be reverse direction. I know it doesn't help even I say I thought a lot about it, whether I include the chicane part in the layout or not.
Gratz for Nova / MicroSpecV for dominating the weekend
Thanks also for your patience during tecnical problems. So this morning I added two route checkers in the halfway of the grid, just to capture wrong way drivers (for some reason they appear now and then). Looks like those who started between those checkers, they ran only over the second checker and got spectated. I quickly realized what may be wrong when seeing racers spectated right after green light, and took "red flag" out. Happy end, and feel free to share your feelings or just give feedback, here or in pm.
Track for Round 2 is up and running on the server. I will keep several car choices there following days, then restrict to XRT & practice mode near next weekend. Its time for XRT and no dirty sections!
Okay. If I understood correct, when expanding a grid of an original track, I need to add only the missing pit start points. Looks like FE6 has 18 start points by default, so I am missing 22 start points...
Obviously it is also important to give correct numbers to those additional pit start points...
I have put 40 start position objects in the layout. Should I put also 40 pit start points? If there are less start points, does it mean that not all 40 can join track even they would join different time?
We have nicely 14 sign ups + me its total 15 + probably some non signed up drivers will join. I will be positive we can have around 20 cars on the grid. Grid size is 40 and it is a custom grid not too tight, for preventing bad experience on opening lap.
I want to remind that the 20 minutes of qualification will run very fast on this long track, since one outlap is already almost 4min and one hotlap will heat up your tires quite much.
The server will be in practice mode until event starts. Join to have some fun with us. I will share my race setup during the practice period, but not anymore during the event (qualification and so on..).
I did not manage to build a streaming environment yet, so if anyone is interested on streaming this event, please contact me
Ok i tested this and its nice idea in theory, but as you said, syncing the screens is a pain. Also after race start, it will take a good while until the temp.mpr is readable. No go
Yes, why not also tyrewear! With these options we could get rid of three ridiculous phenomenons in current simracing:
- nonsense stop&go pitstops
- last lap stop&go festivals
- artificial pit windows for preventing the already mentioned pit stop festival
Since looks like majority of simracers (probably all, except me) want to have pit stops in races, at least they would have much more purpose when you need to think on your tyre wear and fuel and use your brains to plan the pitstop.
@redbot_ Thanks! This is interesting one. Still may be challenging to reload new temp.mpr on race start while I am sitting on my pc#1 in the grid waiting for green light
So what I intented to do, use my second account on pc#2 and spectate+stream my events from there. Or maybe it can be even same pc but second screen.
But still it bothers me that I need to buy a normal license for the streaming account which will never drive a single meter with any car.
Ehh...David, I think you have never hosted a server (+ planned to stream the activity) so maybe just focus on some other thread here, ok?
A license that costs less than S3 but allows you to spectate on any track. Useful for server owner who want to stream the event. Spectator user could have special ability to split screen in two or 4 and spectate simultaneously two or four views. Would be nice feature for live cam streaming. Server owner can decide how many spec profiles allowed. Or maybe fixed one.
On serverside a parameter Fuel Consumption with defaultvalue 100% but could be increased to make fuel finish faster and thia way creating concrete reasons for pitstops during races
We have now 10 sign ups, 8 here and 2 via Leagues page.
I want to clarify, that
- you can join also without sign up, but then you will be out of the after-event voucher draw(s)
- even you sign up, you don't need to participate all rounds
I updated the rules related to voucher draws in the information document. I'm happy to introduce one extra voucher draw after the series. You'll read it there...
We will have a Practice Race for Round 1 next Friday at UTC *mess*. I'll try to organize such practice race before every round. All information will be (hopefully) in the information document.
