Awesome, can't wait to test it out again!

Really really nice mod this! Just one thing, I think the front offset needs to be adjusted to bring the scrub value down, if it could be around -0.030 it would be great

Was fun and tense at the same time, thanks!

Sup dude, mod looks great but the front suspension needs work. You have waaaay too much offset and that has caused positive scrub which causes violent torque steer and bump steer. Change your lower control arm points and control arm length to keep the track width the same but reduce the offset so that you have around -0.030 scrub, it will make a massive improvement

Quote from Scawen :Seriously, please use the test patches.

We are getting near to the official version. The test patches need testing.

EDIT: I think anyone who is interested in making mods should read through the list of editor changes and hopefully try them out.

Thanks Scawen, I have been nervous about using the test patches due to the fact that they aren't official updates and might result in crashes or corrupting mods. My time to do any testing that is worth while is also limited so didn't think I am of much use to your development work

Quote from Scawen :You can do that in the vehicle editor since Editor Test Patch D28.

Oh cool, I haven't been using the test patches so didn't see this. Are you nearing an official update for Editor yet?

Not sure if this has been suggested before but I think it would be great if the LFS Editor had an option to sit in the drivers seat in order to determine what the look and feel of the drivers position is without having to export and then enter LFS and test there. This would help with rear view and side view mirror position and drivers seat height.

Quote from tanehau-srt :Oh noo, didint realize it goes like that. I will change the rims back. So sorry and tjanks to let me know this.. Didint understand you cannot use rims of mod that allowed deriatives. Is it possible that i can use them in this mod because they look like same rims what mercedes use in dtm back in the days?

I think the whole derivative definition is a bit confusing/ uncertain.
You are welcome to use them, I just like it when people ask for permission first but I understand where the confusion came in.Thumbs up

But this mod is in no way a derivative of the mod given in the link you have posted. A derivative doesn't mean take one or two parts and make a totally new mod, it means you build on/ modify the base mod it is derived from.

Would you care to explain where you got those wheels from? I don't recall ever being asked to make use of wheels from my mods, wheels that I modelled from scratch!

I seem to not be able to find this mod via the in game's browser. What gives?

Hi
It was sadly removed because it was discovered that the original 3D file was ripped from another game Frown

It's soul lives on in this car, the Plover P2200 (https://www.lfs.net/files/vehmods/9D271F), just tweaked for the new car's dimensions, give it a try and give it some love in the ratings Thumbs up

Quote from terga :Hmm yeah now that you say it, you're right, slipped my eyes. Easy fix that...

Yeah i made it from scratch. And yeah it's the same kind of engine as the DFX but this particular car was powered by Honda/Toyota in 97-98. Essentially it's the same 2.65 liter turbo V8.

Yeah quick fix Smile

Cool, interesting to see how similar the powerband's are between the engine in this car and the one in my Stupidvan 2 mod, which has the DFX. I see the Honda/Toyota engine makes more power overall but seems to make max power and torque in almost the exact same spot in the rpm range, give or take a few hundred rpm.

Keep up the good work!

Not nice to lie, its bad XD

But seriously, this trifecta that you have made public all look so stunning, great job man. My only gripe (haven't driven then in anger yet) is that the rear wing end plates look disproportionally thick.

Did you do the engine from scratch, I assume its based on the Cosworth DFX Smile

Why not just keep it simple, if the creator of a racing series/ server has identified a mod that they want to use for an event or entire series they should be able to contact the mod creator with a request to use the mod for a set period of time, 1 event/ 1 month/ 3 months/ 6 months/ 1 year. It can work with a simple tick box and all the mod creator has to do is approve or deny the request. If this is approved, the mod creator will then be locked out of deleting the mod/ making it private or updating the mod until that agreed time period has expired. Thereafter the mod creator could do what they like: delete/ update/ make private e.t.c. This way you have "buy in" from both the mod creator and the event creator.

Just came across an issue with LFS Editor, I tried to change the graphics card from the integrated on-board card to my GeForce GTX 1650 and now I can't launch editor, it keeps saying saying "Error, no outputs found"
How can I fix this?
Thanks

Quote from Avraham Vandezwin :Hi M3THANOL Smile,

I can't answer the particular case you mention. It would seem (from my offline experience) that the game's normal AI is capable of improving, within limits. In my experience always, the AI seems to work better and seems faster with some modded cars. Like with your Ford Escort MK1 (off topic: Why did it disappear? It was my favorite car! Shrug )

I created a topic to find out how the AI works?
https://www.lfs.net/forum/post/2032378

I'm glad you're interested in AI. As I said above, I very easily made some very promising experiments from the original GTRs of the game.

I'm 99% satisfied with what I got! The AI is faster than me. Bots are pugnacious. A little too aggressive, but very pleasant. They make normal mistakes (like going off the track due to braking too late after an overly optimistic overtake).
The races are (finally!) exhilarating and lively. You have to hang on behind the AI, optimize your trajectories, get the most out of the car and take risks to overtake. It's very physical and very immersive.
I'm rediscovering the game. And I love it Omg omg omg.

But I don't know how to do better. I'm sure a modder as talented as you could do something great just by modifying the characteristics of the originals cars in the game Tilt.
So we could have a version of a car to drive for the player and a boosted version of the same car for the AI, to compensate for its lack of performance. This is the idea I followed and it works.

My last problem is that the amount of fuel automatically assigned to the AI is not always adapted to the layout. The AI runs out of fuel on the last lap after a great race... it's frustrating Frown

Would be nice to hear from Scawen just to get an idea of what the current AI can actually do.

off-topic: The escort turned out to be ripped from a game so it had to go.....but its heart and bones live on in my Plover P2200 mod, not sure if you've tried it?

I speak under correction but I remember racing on a server, I think it was AA Multiclass, about a year ago and the host/ admin had an AI included in the racing. The AI got better each race as it learnt the lines, not sure how that was done or if that is what the normal LFS AI's can do?

Quote from Flame CZE :As the number of mods is growing, I think there should be more ways to search mods.

Brilliant idea, this will work very well!

I think that there are a number of great mods that just get missed now with the vast majority of mods. If the classes were more specific then the user can really search what they want without remembering the mod name (we have some weird ones.....me included)
