Quote from Takumi_lfs :

Now that I know that the game aint that smooth on my comp I wont buy it atm. Just wait for a patch and a new driver. Is it REALLY recommended to have quadcore? That sounds like bogus anyway

So whats worse about this sentence than cracking LFS? Nothing.

Those cooling blocks are stunning. If he put them in a gallery after being painted they wouldn't look out of place.

Quote from J@tko :Actually, technically you can make it fail. 1.2 is a 2-digit number.
1+2=3
1.2-3=-1.8

It needs to say 2-digit integer for it to be fool-proof. (although obviously the maths still needs to be right :tilt

1 is an unlimited digit number in that case. 1.00000000000000000r.

And by the looks of things its written in another language too so the native text might not be English.

EDIT:

HOW DOES IT KNOW! Which ever number i pick it knows what i've picked and out of about 20 tries its had every single one right.

Oh, now i realise. It switches the symbols around to any of those magic numbers each time so I kept thinking it was picking mine out of the whole bunch but there's loads of the same one.

Your not a proper chav, you only have the hairstyle really.

People don't understand proper chavs, they hang around street corners all night getting drunk and stoned and they generally wear tracksuits and brands like Fred Perry, Helly Hanson..etc.

Even though some of the clothes are expensive, they're still chavy clothes.

That's brilliant! I bet in those times people would look at that and never think it would some day be a world wide craze.

Don't discard Rfactor. Its a brilliant simulation when you have a decent mod running - F1RFT has given me far more playtime and online racing than the BF1 has in LFS.

Signed it as this is also my local track - great karting layout too.

I did some more film photography. Developed and printed all in the darkroom, then framed with the carpet in my room.

Its totally unbelievable. 80 Grand and 2 brand new cars worth $25000 or so, ON HIS BIRTHDAY.

Good grief.

On my 19th birthday i'd be over the moon with £500 banger to get me to college and back!

Quote from Ian.H :Flash is a real PITA! Never, EVER, EVER create a "flash web design". It's inaccessible, resource hungry (in comparison) and really serves a purpose for very little in web design IMO.

Simplicity IMO, is the key. Simplicity doesn't have to mean boring however.

Learn how to code proper web sites (I used Dreamweaver years ago in WYSI(N)WYG mode and then read the code it produced to learn what tags did what) and you'll find that you'll be able to do so much more. I'm not saying don't learn flash if that's what you want to do.. but any flash-only site I come across personally 1: displays nothing due to the FlashBlock / NoScript Firefox extension, 2: gets forgotten about quickly as there's plenty of other sites available that usually have similar content that will display without the need for 3rd-party plugins.

Just my 2p worth anyway.. take it as you see fit

Regards,

Ian

PS: Sorry.. no idea about flash alternatives.. have always avoided anything related like the plague and stuck to traditional stuff.

Totally agree with Ian here on his first point about Flash being a P.I.T.A. It really is - web design in flash is like trying to draw on word.

You can make cool, professional websites with simple HTML as long as you are confident in slicing up templates and creating good graphics in Photoshop.

Quote from sam93 :I hate flash websites. I would say to stay away from creating flash websites. What about getting a copy of photoshop and Dreamweaver. Design parts of the site in Photoshop and put the site together in Dreamweaver. Just an idea.

He mentioned without paying loads of money for Flash - Photoshop and Dreamweaver would cost the same as if not more than flash. GIMP is a free photo editing program that you could use (Photoshop is easier, even an old copy like Elements 2. I used that for web design for about a year and was fine) and Frontpage can't bee too much, unless you want to code it in notepad.

EDIT: Just realised I didn't answer your question at all. No wonder I'm crap at essays ey! Well, I don't know of any flash alternatives. There's always the route that we must not speak of - I wouldn't suggest this route but its always an option I guess.

Dont say years ago :P
may 2007. Thats last year.

Edit: After watching the video you said to the photo which came in second that you cant imagine the birds being anywhere else in the photo... How about in the centre? :/

It would look weird in the centre (or at least worse than it did) and mainly I was just blabbering on because I was like 14 and was sat in front of about 10 people pointing bright lights and cameras in my face.

Its probably more fun on a LAN but lerts said for online play and 1.6 is nearly dead online apart from proper scrims..etc.

Quote from lerts :i think theres no demos for this games, and im not buying without trying

Counter Strike is regarded one of the best FPS games out there, 1.6 (the original) is really cheap - £5 or something - so you can use that as a "demo" for Counter Strike Source.

If you do that, you have to remember people have been playing for years and you won't be as good as people until you play it for a while and practice.

Why would he get 1.6 when Source is much better graphically and has a lot more players online.

What about the Call Of Duty series Lerts? Or possibly Far Cry 2 if your PC can handle it.

Quote from franky500 :6ft ish, not worried. Can be annoying on busses though (long legs).

Anybody notice how with tall people its "meh, im about 6 ft" and with short gits its more "im 5ft 7.2948105inches"

I'm about 5 foot 1, I don't think i could add enough decimals onto that to make it sound bigger.

Quote from TURKISHPOWER :I'm 5 '10 (178 cm).

Your 5'10 and 11 years old?!

I'm 16 and I'm no where near that tall. I'm small but its strange to be nearly 6 feet tall and only 11 years old. I'm not sure if I believe you.

I don't get how someone could dislike the shape enough to be physically sick.

Its a car and if any car makes you sick from the outside then you need to sort your priorities out I guess.

I love squareness on cars, hence why i love a lot of older cars rather than the new curvy shapes of the 21st Century, take the old Audi Quattro for example - The mental group B S1 looks insane, but I don't really take a fancy to the latest audi line of cars.

I also am glad about the guidelines towards aero peices on the main body - the BMW looks really clean on the side view and like a proper race car not just a car with wierd shaped bits coming from all directions.

I can't wait to see what the other manufacturers come up with!

The bond film... I sat through 30 minutes of ads growingly needing the toilet, went and missed half of the first car chase.

We also got to the cinema 10 minutes after one started and we were going to go in but thought we'd miss the start. So instead we were bored an hour before the next one.

Quote from steve30x :Dont you guys think we have been on the alpha stage long enough? I think the next move should be BETA.

What changes if next week the LFS staff go, okay this is a BETA now not ALPHA!

Nothing, really. The game isn't finished yet so why would we want it to go to beta stages?
