as the title states, i'd like to start a thread about accidents that happened but were going well (at least for the driver that posted).

In the first lap, at the first chicane...

So let the show begin.

Quote from tristancliffe :The CMX Importer doesn't need the command line to work. You just install it, then go File->Import->CMX type->CMX File

Tried that but unfortunately 3ds gave me a hint "unable to load plg-in" and thats it...
So I'm using the models you (?) posted but these don't have any "order" encoded (object name, texture coordinates, etc...) and therefore they give me a pain in the A** to rework them to let them look like the ready texed models in the cmx viewer.

So if anyone here can help me with that (maybee eric :shy i'd be very grateful.

Quote from tristancliffe :...The solution just isn't clear yet.

And there will never be any.
Since there isn't any "clean" power source. (think deep enough to see the development of a solar-panel, and the waste included in that process)
On the other hand there is the big amount of energy needed (and wasted at traffic lights) to accelarate a "known" normal car for city-cruising.

I'm not saying we should do all our ways with bicycles, but without a proper energy efficient way of travelling, we'll be going in circles, never reaching any solution.

and the sand doesn't have the same density as the curb, therefore even after each race refilled it'll be worn out pretty soon.
So restrict yourself to some "known" curbs and try to drive fast AND clean.

If I understand you correct, then you just said what i said, using other words.
Very impressive work...

5.2.1 almost nag free (no visible blocking @ 2mbits) better than that series 6.x.xx codec versions. they produced a nasty amount of blocks in flashie scenes, ewwww.

Quote from NotAnIllusion :VDub and DivX/XviD does the job quite nicely for me.

Right, but even with proper manuals for Xvid encoding settings i find it a pain in the A*** to configure it all. And i need to admit i've seen some pretty small goooood looking xvid material, it just gave me the creeps, thinking about the hours of reading and understanding the "how to's"...

maybee a lazy comment but Divx with a 1,5Mbits/s and 3 other things set, gives usable results.

confront your fear with practise on some old airfield and some "older" tyres, i'm guessing after a few days/sessions, you'll partly loose your fear.
I'm not saying to be feared is totally bad but (helps you stay alive) and i think it's more worthy to feel confident and not that distracted by your fears.

Quote from Electrik Kar :Huh? You loved that sound? To me that meant Impossible Mission 2 was not gonna load. Which meant bad...

err, ok, sure that sound meant bad news.
but i liked it.
Btw. the was some programm just turned the "activity" light on and off, so it looked like a fading in/out light.
Very much like the "sleep" mode light on some macs...

it's too obvious for me, more power, so it's bf1 these days, or sth better comes around and bf1 will be aside f08 in the dark corner.
sad but look at the oval racers for example, in an instant, the old f08 was gone...
But it's pretty funny to hunt them noob's wrestling the bf1in you "old" f08
(no offense)

@ Disposable,

"SkidRoadHeavyMinor.raw" is the file i'm talking about, (posted by jenek "snd_bel.rar") it's actually a *.txt file containing audio data, but it was saved via Cool edit (sort off), point is, it discribes a skid sound. (look into it using a text editor)
If you feed it to your cool pro 2 then it'll open it, normalize to 60% (or something) and you'll hear a tyre-skid (see attach pic)
