sure here it is... (and i knew that little button :P, was just wondering since i translated most of the important lines, because this report will be in german...)

um, sorry to ask here but can anyone help me please wich service is at fault when your dependencies cannot be resolved?
i get errormessages that say "win32: the service cannot be startet, he's deactivated or not connected to active devices" (free translation).
I found out about this while maintaining my system, finding the syslog messages box "overflowing" with error messages concerning "DCOM" but these were generated by "Routing & Ras" (mentioned by Angry_angel) ending with following message:
"routing & Ras cannot be started on local machine. fourther information to be found at Event-protocol.
Contact the service-provider, if it's not a MS service.
Tell them about the errorcode "340"...blah" (free translation)

well sorry for drawing fast conclusions on you.
I assumed since it's a synthesized sound you'd be exporting them directly to disc
without re-recording (digital->analog/analog->digital) them in you favorite audio-recording suite.

For the Thick marks:
I see them usually in all kinds of analog device recordings, even my pc produces these.
But mostly they occur while digitizing a analog source of your desire (pctv-board).
Again, sorry, and Yes i had a good laugh at the "klingeling" (ringing) sound at the "Enginesim1.wav" i never heard knew a engine can make such sounds.

How about just giving the control over these values free for edit to the offline-using-racer?
And keep the original specs for the online races?

Obviously scawen doesn't want that to happen, or why are there so many mechanik versions available.
Or the other way around, why does it always take a version update to work with the latest patch?
You could say: "hey mate, it's because of them cheaters out there..."
And you'd probably have a point in that.
But i say it can be made, even if that system gets exploited, it wouldn't take long till someone screams "murder"... recognizing a cheater.
Resulting in a lifetime-ban for that particular cheater on all servers.

After all we call that programm a "simulator" and maybee i ask too much here since i haven't encountered any other sim that let's you easily edit the power-specs for anything moveable.
I'm not even thinking about realism here, it's the inner child in all of us that makes -at least me- using mechanik or tweaker once in a while.

I'm sorry to disappoint you guys, but the "Enginesim1.wav" was not 100% synthesized!

You can tell by the marks (1;2) in the picture that there were samples used.
these marks usually occur while recording.
Especially the thin long interrupted horizontal (signal) line around 17kHz is used to sync the lines in the interlaced frame known from the pal-tv standard.

but a nice low rev sound at the end of "Enginesim1.wav", never heard an engine make these sound

well as a "low-tech" i'd try to boot a "dummy-system" (a system that can be infected, but isn't a productive system) and try the trace route without your router.
alternatively i'd try the same trace at another time of day.
or ask a friend living nearby, to do the same...

then how come the times aren't stable?
if you look at the times in the replay you'll notice that they are in a constant drift.

interesting tho you mention it.
I witnessed several other "games" that seem to have a problem with zero movement too.
It's really weird when actuating the brakes but you cann see yourself slightly drifting off the track (viper racing) when on an uneven surface...
So i assume it something with the 3d-system and its resolution... (maybee wrong).

ok thx for replys, because i always tought, that your lap and total time were in sync and identical for the first lap.
But at least i lost a bit of the illusion of the "perfect netcode" :P
Don't get me wrong, it's pretty well made, but the times are drafting/drifting/jittering call it whatever you like, but as you can see, they are not synced (yet that precise...).

i'm talking about the total->lap times...

have a look, and someone please tell me if this "should" not be.
The times were "sliding" like the jitter on tv recordings.
I usually have audio/video timing jitter due to non synced tv-board and soundcard recording.

i'm tellin' you i'm using what you've just seen, steering with my mouse!
just click on assign axis, then choose mouse X axis... done

in fact this would be some config i'd like to use in my left hand (analog tr/br on 2 different fingers...) and steering with some "shakin" mouse for the ff illusion...

but i guess these are just called plastic curbs, to be used in lightest weight class races (R/C), because these vehicles don't destroy them... (the smaller ones).
