@trackah
i can remember a thread with lots of pictures of the mod, but you given link isn't what i expected.
So i assume there's a older "night-mod" floating somewhere.

but i'll try it anyways

they use nitrogen in airplanes because it's not affected by pressure changes during the flight.
So it's a safety feature, because this way the tyres on an airplane would not suffer or even take damage from beeing inflated when the pressure outside the airplane drops and vice versa when the plane gets back to earth-sea-level.

not on screen right, because the screen has a fixed dpi, try to get a close look at standard apple monitors, they use a 110dpi setting.
And on hi-res monitors you're forced to use a higher dpi setting for displaying icons and fonts because they get really small.
so you have to agree that if our displaying devices happen to use higher dpi values, the bigger the textures can get...

my maximum texture size is 4096*4096 pixels.
Anyone able to load greater sizes?

~578 cm (obviously, 5.78 meters)

lol.. that's HUGE!

erm, i think there's another value to take credit of:

"dpi"

well i know windows only uses 96dpi on standard monitors and i don't want to start a discussion about who's monitor accounts for the highest dpi, but, the higher the dpi on your vision-device the larger the textures could get without beeing bigger than a 5.78m car

race online to learn techniques to broaden your demand for reacting properly in given situations, and changing car in long endurance races.

it's no real bug, just the defined collision hitbox isn't adjusted to the 'now smaller' new textured box of the beam.
i assume that beam was just forgotten, like some other lighting 'bugs' on fern bay.
or what would you say if you drove your whitenosed mrt after the big sandpit up the small hill and no shadows in sight but your carnose gets darkened...

just stay put, these 'bugs' will get attention.

Quote from Mr.Muh :What about that Fern Bay Rallyecrosstrack with 100% dirt?

nope, the stretch is asphalt, not gravel...

all the rallycross tracks have asphalt portions/sections in them every lap, surely the bf1 is way faster there than on the gravel.
I say the bf1 is overall NOT faster, and let's stick to it by saying you can trotle up only as fast as the rb4 can and top speed is met by the rb4 too on the asphalt portions.
which virtually leaves gravel --only-- to compare the 'offroad' abilities of the bf1.
and that's what doesn't make me think about the bf1 as fastest rallycross vehicle.
sorry if i'm too stupid to see your points, and who knows, maybee i'm all wrong there.
let's try and find it out on a server...

i think you didn't quite got my point there.
try to see the difference between the bf1 on gravel only and how she handles.
And then tell me if she still could compete to a full blown 4x4 rallycross monster like the rb4.
Sure the bf1 is fastest, but only because every rallycross track has some asphalt sections which the bf1 can make way better use of than the rb4, despite the imperfections statet from you.

really the fastest rally car?
or doesn't it use the few asphalt strips way better than any other real rally car?

me thinks it does, thus not being 'the' best rally car.
i mean what if, it has to compete on gravel only tracks?

thought about sth like that for years, since i'm too lazy to carry my comp to the lan-partys...
But i'm too broken and busy to built me a radio-controlled car around my comp, that i still carry it to my friends lan-partys.

But a nice approach to the problem indeed.

i'd rather have the behavior from the addon, drive a faster lap to get the line updated...

Quote from squidhead :...and we gave him 2GB memory card filled with total rubbish (JPG, AVI and stuff like that) and it still worked quite fine...

i can top that
i have a sony erricson w810i and use a 4gb memory stick pro duo card (intended for the psp as a savegame container) successfully in it...
I read about this in some forum and the tech-support-blogger said it doesn't support these amounts of memory.
Downside of the phone is the bad audio quality due to low-bit volume ramping on the dsp.
So no amplifier volume ramping here, the signal is processed before it runs trough the amplifier, and that pre-gain processing messes up the resulting signal.
And i have a klicking sound between track changes every now and then.

So, i hope that will be solved someday in the next few years on another phone generation

everytime the AI races you get a "AI driver's first time" when starting a combo.
The "ai driver saved knowledge" after one lap minimum was completed and race ended.
You get these messages during "shift+f8" (network debug).
And a nice feature for the new race-padawan's:
Turn on your warning blink-lights then the AI will grant you plenty of room, you'll have to get past them first, but still nice in a crowded combo

but i you have to admit, that it's a bit sad to be unable to unlock the old versions for the sake of nostalgia.
Is it that much of a trouble to keep a virtual machine running for these "unlock" jobs?
