Hm good to know. Am returning my 7200.10 for defects / bad performance (yay newegg's rma process! boo restocking fee), and was thinking about getting a .11 since it was on sale. Going to skip over it
win7 boots a LOT faster, and surfing the web, i would say about 100% faster. If not more. Its not just because of fresh install on new hdd either. Everything seems faster. (could be hdd :S) Everything does come to a screeching slowdown once a lot of things are happening on my ancient amd 3700, though. overall it's a great o/s and I'm currently using it as main, and havent had to go to xp for 3 days now! Might even consider paying for it once it gets released. 9.3/10
Please don't stereotype cruisers. LC just seems to attract children. Most of the crap in this thread is just dumb. "zomg its fake! i dont want your german LC!!!!11!!eleven~!!!efewfoawnone!"
make sure to plug in the POWER cord to a working wall outlet or power strip and on the bottom of the wheel itself. Ther are two parts, the part taht connects to the wheel, which has a brick at the end of it, and the second part that plugs into the brick and into outlet.
Nice! Probably a manufacturing defect, should maybe make a thread about it with pics and all how to fix it Might be useless but hey, it could save someone $300
And I wasn't talking about those black rings I meant the one that the encoder read ^-^
Also, now I remember thats what was wrong with mine too, the screws weren't tight. Temp fix was moving the black ring but then it gave out again and realized was loose. But ye grats, hope motors stay alive! haha
That happened to me too - And i never go over 40% ffb ingame!
Anyways, I fixed this by placing a new optical encoder onto the end of the FF motor. Also replaced motors with different ones since they squeeked. Thing is now these are starting to squeek! I thought the g25 would last longer than this. Guess just gonna have to wait till it dies a slow painful death then buy a fanatec.
Also this could fix it: If you see where optical encoder is (end of ff motor with black box) remove the plastic black box thing. Now there will be a circuit board (i'm pretty sure you know what im talking about, just explaining for anyones future reference) and a black ring sticking out. I think if you moved the ring away from the board that it'll read more clearly and won't "skip" readings and un calibrate itself. Hope it helps, but can't guarantee anything
p.s. I also cut a hole in the case so I can easily remove the covering without screwing and unscrewing a bunch of screws + hassle(cut vertically from the circle for steering column, if you know what I mean). I can leave off and place a small fan and it should keep cool. This may help if you get the encoder working.
K so I got win7 installed on new harddrive, and besides a few hiccups everything seems to be running okay. But theres a small bug in lfs that's a large pain in the posterior. Whenever I alt tab, and return, the brake axis on G25 is not recognized at all. In control - axis screen, it does not respond to it moving at all. I have to recalibrate it every time I alt tab to fix it. Anyone know of a workaround or even a cause of this? I'm not sure if this is LFS or the logitech profiler/drivers.
I wouldn't say dated. For the money, they're the best you can get. The fanatec ones are JUST the pedals for 200 euros, and are delayed for march, which is why I suggested g25 instead of waiting to spend more money. Who knows, those pedals could suck! Noone has had their hands (er, feet?) on them, so spending a lot more money on one piece of hardware and waiting 4 months just to do so is, imo, not a very safe bet.
Well I just figured since MS seems to want to release a new O/S with a new payment plan every other year, that the NEXT o/s after 7 will be a better time to get touch support, since by then most touchscreens will be cheaper and better. A lot of touchscreens now don't even have multiple touch support. I guess better earlier than getting beaten by other companies. Didn't mean to sound so ignorant as I did
Anywho, downloading the beta now. Had to buy a new HDD to install and dual boot it since my current one refuses to partition. Eh I needed to buy a new one anyway, this one is bound to fail soon.
Cards don't need their own power supply, but your existing one that powers EVERYTHING needs to be sufficient. can you tell me the voltage? That way I can tell you if its sufficient, and If not give you other recommendations. I'm trying to help you.
At that res the 4830 will be more then enough, and I'm certain you'll have more than 60 fps stable in LFS until s3
