You'll struggle to drift it as it doesn't have a limited slip drift, you'll just end up spinning the inside wheel.

If you did some reasearch into the real FPA series, you'd realise that the cars in it are running ~325bhp, hence why you'd restrict them to that to replicate the series...

Yeh, thanks very much Tristan, really appreciate it.

One request, if in your list of atendees above you could write everyone's real forename next to their username, it would make it a bit easier than learning them on the day.

I think it would be great if someone made an FO8 league replicating the real life Formula Palmer Audi series. Restrict them to about 325bhp and with big grids I think it could be a winner...

I love the FO8, think it's one of the best cars in the game. Just been hooning one around AS Historic and it's been an absolute blast.

I always have F9 up. I find it useful to see which corners effect certain parts of certain tyres in a certain way.

I like to be certain about things, see.

Tristan, I can do the 25th (fingers crossed), so am looking forward to it.

I would have put a vote in for Cadwell, but like you say it's too narrow and is hard to properly race on. Perhaps somewhere like Donington would be good - wide track with some tough corners. Tin-tops would be great.

Can I put a vote in for races no longer than 30 mins. Other than that, I don't mind on the format, as long as everyone gets roughly the same chair time.

EDIT: Long shot I know, but if they had the Race of Champions track and we did that, I think that would be pretty cool.. however it would work.

I'd go for a Transit Van as well, think of the fun that could be had with 20 of those hooning round a RallyX track...

No, hate it with a passion.

Re the WRC vid... why is it solely based on Loeb? Yes he's statistically the best driver to enter WRC, but they don't even say when Jari-Matti won that round, or when anyone else wins infact...

I just re-re-re downloaded it and extracted it and it works fine now too.. strange.

Ok, so went to search for hosts and it says they're all on the wrong version... yet I haven't changed LFS since I last played last night (which was fine).

I re-downloaded the Z-->Z10 file and extracted it, but it still has the same problem. And at the bottom of the main screen it says I've got Z8

Quote from Timdpr :That's the one! http://www.ashley-craig.com/

That's pretty sweet, who was classified in front? Or was it considered a draw?

Yeh that's him alright. It was classified as a draw in the end, I think we both shared 4th place. Luckily it wasn't a podium place or we would have probably ended up in fisticuffs for the little plastic trophy

5Haz, how many BHP are the Juniors? I remember I did a test day in the MR2 at Rockingham at the beginning of the season and there were a few of the Juniors there and I was able to keep right on their bumper for most of the lap.

Someone mentioned Josh Hill racing in the class, so I thought I'd make a point. I remember watching one of the Donington races (the one where Josh nailed that big foam thing) where Dino Zamperelli did a fantastic drive from way down the field to battle his way through and eventually win the race. Yet when the race was finished, did we get an interview with Dino? No, instead we got to hear from Josh who didn't drive particuarly well and lost the lead of the race to someone from way down the pack, presumbly for the sole reason he was Damon Hill's son.

That pissed me right off, it wasn't fair for Dino to not get the attention he deserved after an amazing race.

Ok, so you knew it had a bug, which I'm guessing was causing the problems I was annoyed with, yet still slate me for voicing my opinions on why I didn't like it?

I've enjoyed racing on CD servers for ages, so as soon as a new InSim thing appears that is actually obstructing / distracting then you're going to get people unhappy with it. Not many of those people are going to voice their opinion openly, but someone's got to otherwise it'll carry on like that. Fair enough, this time it was changed, but it's the principal.

If you're not even going to let your users say how they feel about a new piece of InSim or something similar without telling them to go somewhere else, then you really need to sort out your attitude.

"No it's driver F****** B you F****** moron!

"This and his iratic...speech...impediment..."

Back on topic.. went on [CD] 1 today and noticed it said the skill league was finished.

Just thought I'd like to point out how bloody annoying that InSim scroll bar at the bottom of the screen was telling me over and over again that it had indeed finished and when it was starting again. If it was smaller, only scrolled a couple of times and was a bit more inconspicuous it would have been fine, but it was quite big, impossible to get rid of and was in bright green writing, which meant it was very distracting and blocked my view of tyre temps.

Tim, is Ashley Craig the guy who used to do Karting, his Dad was one of the main men at Forest Edge circuit. Had a yellow and red suit and was #64? If so, I used to race against him in Cadets, I remember one race we actually drew with each other, the time sheets (accurate to .000 of a second) said we crossed the line at the exact same time.

Anyway brt900, about a year and a half ago we started looking seriously into Saxmax. I even did a test day in one of the cars at Brunters. However, after more research we decided against it for a few reasons:

1) The price. A year of racing, including the car, would cost around £15 -£20k
2) Only one guy was allowed to build the cars, and his son was racing in the series and was the driver beating everyone by miles. I'm not saying the only reason he was winning was because his Dad was giving him an advantage by doing something extra to the car, he could well have simply been a brilliant driver, but the fact he was constantly winning was just too suspicious, and immediately reduces your chance of success
3) From what we'd seen / heard, the series was largely full of young, hot-headed lads who'd just progressed from karting with exceedingly rich Dads, who didn't care if they wrote the car off at each meeting, they'd just fork out and get it repaired. Not the right way to go about it.

Just giving you a few reasons why SaxMax may not be the way to go.

So, in the end we waited until I was 16 and could get a proper MSA Racing Licence, and entered in the Red Dragon Mk1 MR2 Racing series. This is, by far, the cheapest form of track motorsport, and it included about 13 races, all at big tracks - Silverstone, Rockingham, Snetterton, Cadwell etc. It's brilliant fun, very friendly but still very competitive.

Always had the exact same problem here; LFS normally runs at ~60FPS, yet whatever settings I put Fraps on, as soon as I press record the in-game FPS drops to 8.

Sucks.

Tristan, any ideas on the exact date yet?

Also, do we know if it's gonna be LFS or GPL? If it's the latter, I may have to dust the CD off, install it and get practicing

Yeh I'm still not completely convinced the reason they do it is to make sure they've still got brake pressure. What if they did one of these quick jabs only to realise the brakes weren't working, when they come to brake they still won't work.

This is taken from one of the comments from the video NotAnIllusion posted, and sums up what I was getting at in my first post in this thread using the correct terminology:

"My guess is pad knock back. Any lateral movement of the brake rotors can push the pads back into the caliper causing some brake pedal effort being wasted on just moving the pads back into place. In severe cases, it can cause enough knock back so a full pedal press does nothing, requiring another stomp on the pedal. The first time that happens when you're not ready for it is not fun, especially if you're at speed when it happens. Tap the brake down a straight and you reset the pads."

EDIT: When I say I don't think they are checking for brake pressure in my first sentence above, I mean actually checking to see that the brakes are slowing them down, not just tapping them to make sure all the pads are seated properly.
