Quote from P5YcHoM4N :... according to my old man you should do 1 hour with an instructor for every year old you are.

So, if you're 5 years old, you only need 5 hours of lessons, but if you're 20 then you need 4 times that amount? Ita-makea-no-sensa.

That looks brilliant, shame about the problems with the carbs getting clogged up but at least you finished the rally, and not last! I'm very envious, would love to do that one day. Any vids of it? Or will it be covered on TV somewhere again?

I remember one or two years back one of the final stages had a specially built "tabletop" jump which some guys decided to try and clear by going flat out, others didn't. Did they have this this time?

Seriously, what the hell? I really didn't want to see that.

EDIT: Removed link for your sake TVE, that was disgusting.

Quote from diablo21 :Found it, insane can only describe it.

My word, someone lit a rocket up that guy's arse, he was absolutely hammering it down there! Such a shame he fell off, but he was still only 0.5 seconds off the win! Insane.

Great results for first time out, very well done! Look forward to seeing more. How much power do those things have?

Christ Intrepid is it really worth taking the time to quote his post, highlight the miss-spelt word in bold then point out his mistake for him, and everyone else, to see? Or is that all you could come up with to explain why your maths was wrong?

I for one know that if a "racing-driving coach" approached me, said "look, I'll make you a much better driver, but I've never raced much myself nor done particularly well", I'd politely tell them to leave me alone. So I think that that is a perfectly valid reason not to accept their help.

Anyway, enough of that rubbish. Tristan, brilliantly done! Like I said, think positive and you'll do well. And obviously you did! Loved watching the vid, the data overlap was ace. Driving looked spot-on too, that save a 9:10 was nice! And the pass at 10:40 was ace to watch, squirmy back-end!.

You would have creamed that guy if your misfire problem didn't occur, so glad you managed to get that fixed. Keep it up, great stuff, I expect to see more of these wins coming your way. Looked like you really deserved that one.

Amen to that.

Just downloaded it. Had one quick go then realised I had to put every single graphics setting to minimum and turn half of them off to get it to run at useable speed. The street circuit is horrible, but the other one is brilliant. Some very fast, flowing corners. Real hoot in the 240 or the C30 race car.

I was just about to say, the Volga has the exact same interior as an 8 series and it's got the same engine too. That post ^ explains why. Looks gorgeous though.

Agreed, like the commentators said as soon as he saw the cars closing in behind he felt like he had to gets past Gio.. and caused a crash in the process. Still, he's spent most of his time at the back so can't really expect him to be perfect the first time he's up near the front.

Alex I'm very jealous. I remeber seeing the coverage of the Barbados rally festival on Motors TV a while back and thinking how amazingly good fun it looked. Everyone seemed so relaxed and out to have a good time, and the fans and locals really made it seem like a social event rather than a competition which I think looked great.

Best of luck, your car look great, lots of character. Please keep us up to date.

XFG at FE Club, especially if there's a full grid.
FO8 at AS Historic, that's what I call an adrenalin rush.

Before joining SR I was in GLOW for quite some time. Got to say it was a really good team, great spirit between the members and always some good banter. Also has some very, very fast drivers too!

Best of luck Alex.

I was there too, infact was there the entire weekend. Bloody windy today and my face is burning. What a noise from those GT1 Ford GTs though. Got to go on the grid just before the start of the race which was ace!

Quote from amp88 :Alonso was pretty lucky not to drill half the field on the way into turn 1. Watch it on the replay/highlights if you can.

Link?

Watched the first part of the race, then switched over to the BTCC. Force of habit.

Been playing this for ages now on and off. Best time so far BTG is about 7:55 and that's being a bit sloppy.

Agree with Michael, the representation of the real track is pretty shoddy but it's still good fun.

I've managed to add other tracks such as Nurburg Village and Lienz Autumn, but it's much easier if you just put the M3 in GTL and download new tracks for that.

The graphics card we're using is a nVidia GeForce 6600GT. Bought it in around 2006/7.

Played around with the setting on SoftTH and managed to get LFS to split over both screens, however the resolution was completely out. And, the strangest thing, when LFS was open over the two screen, whenever I tried to click one of the buttons on the main LFS page (Single Player, Multiplayer, Options etc) it would make the usual LFS button-click noise but nothing would happen, no matter how many times I restarted the game or clicked the buttons. Was really weird and meant I couldn't go into the options menu to adjust the res.

Apologies for double post but does this only work with PCI Express gfx cards? As I've got a nVidia somethingortheother one.

UPDATE: Got the program running however I can't for the life of me get it to work. The main monitor is 1600x1200 and the right one is 1024x1280 (as on it's side).

The correct resolution doesn't pop up in LFS and everytime a click on a different SoftTH resolution the right screen just has the SoftTH logo and the main one has the wrong resolution. I've put the .cfg file below incase any whizzkids fancy having a go for me as, frankly, I'm pretty useless with all this stuff.
