Spent 45 mins having a go at this, fun little track! Played around with a set for the UF1 and finally managed to nail a run:

Lap 1: 1:28.64
Lap 2: 1:26.01

Total: 2:54.65

Recon that could easily be a mid to low 2:53 but that'll do for now

Sad sad news, my thoughts are with his family.

Here's an interview with him talking about his cancer only a few months ago:

Yeh, what was it, 5 races in a row he didn't score any points in when he was leading? Imagine if that didn't happen. It can still happen, but it's going to be a long shot! Look forward to finals day.

There's an hour long programme about this on ESPN HD at the moment.

Gives it a nice bit of contrast Dan. Masking does take a lot of time to get perfect, but it's worth it. These are the wheels I painted for my MR2 at the beginning of last season.

Another reduction in boost pressure for the turbos, and Plato has put it on pole in quali for Croft today! Neal is second (with more ballast than JP) and Collard is third in the Beemer, great to see those back at the sharp end. With their lowered first gear ratio in place again, it's going to be hard for the two boys on the front row to keep Collard behind off the start.

What an idiot in the Aston:

I thought it was a good days racing, the Hondas doing a RedBull was priceless, and Plato's reaction was worth even more!

In terms of who will drive the Golf next, I'd go with Jonny Herbert or Tim Harvey

Just watched the coverage on Eurosport, the fans sounded brilliant, going mental for Micheliz every time he came past, fantastic stuff!

Very pleased for him to get the 2nd place in the first race, but I think he only had himself to blame at the start of the second race; the pressure and expectation put on him to perform as well as, if not better than he did in the first race was just too much to handle, and he tried to be a T1 hero. Amazing job by his team getting the car back out there though.

Race 1, watching Villa leave it until the last lap to overtake Tarquini was great, and it kicked off between those two and the two Chevy, great few corners.

Race 2 was great to watch with the rain coming down, cars going off all over the place. It always seems to be the same in these conditions; the guys at the back take a gamble which would have paid off if there were another 5 laps or so, always seems to go that way. Would have been nice to see Micheliz storm up the field if there was more time.

Best so far in my 306 HDi, did 800 miles to tank which I worked out to be just over 64mpg. Well chuffed.

Quote from ACCAkut :its a diesel? Once saw a Vid of a N/A diesel Peugeot with two guys in it fooling around with a 5-series BMW, to the point that he (the Beemer) overshot at Adenauer Forst and went through the gravel

Yup, HDi. I stripped out the rear half of the car (seats, carpets, rear wheel, jack, tools etc) to try and lighten it.

I passed a couple of Loti, some Fiat 500 Abarths but the most fun was chasing down and passing two Golf GTi Race cars (one Mk1, one Mk2) and then catching a Cupra R but being even with him over the course of a lap.

James Nash is my hero at the moment, consistently at the sharp end in the races and look where it's put him; leading the British Touring Car Championship.

Thruxton this weekend, Nash hasn't had any experience of the track before though so we shall see. Hondas are traditionally hard on their tyres here, maybe the extra weight of the turbos will make that even more of an issue?

All the turbo engines have had to reduce maximum boost by 0.1 bar to try and even things up.

I think Jason's good start will be harder to match throughout the season. The turbo cars were so much faster, it was only due to the fact Brands is relatively low speed that he managed to stay ahead. If Matt Neal wasn't taken out of the first race, I'd think he'd be leading the championship right now.

I think Mat Jackson is going to be Mr. Consistent again, I hope so anyway. I look forward to seeing more of James Nash upsetting the big names.

Bring it on! The F1 anti-dote.
