Dad's car - ALPINA B10 V8. Done a couple of track days in it and despite it being a bit too heavy and soft for that sort of thing, we've managed to put some more exotic machinery to shame which is always nice. Absolutely brilliant mile muncher.

Goes pretty well on Autobahns too

Quote from DiSCiPuLo :Please don't use parts of a chop for make another edit, this is a basic rule of Virtual Tuning that you've broken...

And why not? Besides, I didn't know "virtual tuning" had rules, that's like saying there's rules on how you can edit normal pictures in photoshop.

That looks great, but I have to say it's one of the strangest looking karts I've ever seen!

Based this off a pic I found of an Alfa 155 DTM racer. Wasn't sure how well it would fit the FXR but think it turned out alright.

Private I'm afraid.

I race in a Toyota MR2 Mk1 only racing series. Am just coming to the end of my first year of racing and it's been pretty good. In my first race of the year at Silverstone I was leading until some muppet lunged me, messed up and knocked me back to 5th. Since then I've had a couple of podiums but also some monumentally bad luck with engines - at one race meeting the one we had in the car was slowly dieing, spurting out all its coolant meaning a huge drop in performance and some bad results.

The event after that we had a newer, reconditioned engine in, but only 3 laps into qualifying it was making the most horrendous rattle and performace was so bad it wouldn't rev at all, and I mean at all. Just as I was coming into the pits, it conked out so I pulled off the track. Turned out a big end bearing was shot which bent a conrod, damaged a valve and also did the head in a bit. So that was the end of that "race" day, didn't even get to actually race.

So now we've got another newer engine in and this one is better. We had a bit of an overheating problem with it in Quali and Race 1 at the last event but got it sorted for Race 2 and had an excellent battle.

There's loads of pics and vids on my website if anyone's interested - www.alexgassman.com

Watching the vid again I can see that the curb which flung you into the path of the other car caused me a couple of problems at Snet as well. A couple of times I'd be going up the inside of someone there and they'd gradually tighten up on me, forcing me to run over the curb on the right and then that large bump at the end of it which, on every occasion, completely un-settled the car and lost me a bit of time. I made a mental note of trying to avoid using it after that as it was so viscous.

Nice job Joe! My guess is that you took the flames from a pic of something much bigger on fire? As the scale of the black plumes seems a liiiittle bit off to me...?

Quote from DevilDare :very nice, but where is my AA/AF ?

Unless you're some AA/AF nerd who expects nothing less than about 64x, if you look at his image full size you can clearly see he's using Anti-Aliasing

Great stuff Lynce! Can you give us wannabes a hint on how to do the smoke like that?

Thanks for the C&C Lynce, and I agree with you. I didn't even attempt to get the reflections to match the angles of the body panels this time round as you can tell, but I'll give it a go next time
