I've looked about a bit but no-one seems to have asked what I want to know. Basically, we've just got another cheap LCD monitor to go with the main one. What I would like to be able to do is to split LFS across them both, but in a way so the main monitor shows what you would normally see when playing LFS, but so the right one shows a view out of the right hand window of the car (constantly looking right).
I've still yet to figure out how to split LFS across them both anyway.
No idea if this is possible or not, but if it is any help would be very appreciated.
I've attached a pic of the monitors - main one is larger landscape one.
Whether you like this type of biking or not, you've got to admit that that guy was simply amazing. Just watched it jaw-dropped the entire way. Unbelievable stuff.
Brilliant news, two great drivers there. Took me a while to work out who was missing from Brands but when I realised it was him I was slightly dissapointed as he was going places.
I didn't drive, unfortunately not being 18 quite yet prevents me from doing so. I was passengering in a silver E39 BMW Alpina B10 V8 - english plates. If you have any pics or vid of it by any chance then we'd love to see some!
You could say the exact same thing but the other way round; it doesn't mean the Brawn drivers are crap in the rain, it could simply mean that the Red Bull team have a far superior car when it gets wet. Can read into it however you want basically.
We were there from the Thursday to the Monday over Easter weekend. Friday was packed, but Saturday and Sunday were pretty empty and the weather was glorious! Got some great laps in too.
First thing I did when I got LFS was to do the training mode. Got bored of it about half way through though so just went racing instead! And also spent a lot of time trying to perfectly drift the XRT around the figure of 8 cone course...
"If it was not LFS, it would be with..." RBR, no doubt. Love the feel of that game and the fact it's a challenge to master it, which I'm still attempting to do.
Oh, and of course, Goldenye on N64, best FPS ever!
She may not be brilliant at what she does, but I would.
With regards to Legard, not sure about him yet. He talks a lot and repeats himself a lot and seems to cut over Brundle a bit. Seems to me he'd be a better commentator for horse racing.
They would normally have a rear boot spoiler like on the one below but it's obviously been taken off, or ordered from the factory without. Looks much better with IMO.
ALPINAs are great, my father has the E39 B10 V8 version which we absolutely love, it's a brilliant car for wafting along motorways, pootling through town or even hammering around the Ring if that takes your fancy.
One thing to point out, the E34 4.0 V8 is not 360bhp, that was the legendary Bi-Turbo model. The 4.0 one you're looking at is 315 bhp which is still a heck of a lot.
Chances are if you'd bought it you'd never see another one driving about the roads, and not many cars for that price can you say that about. Compared to your Fiat I imagine it will feel simply amazing.
I say just go an take it for a good long test drive, keep an eye on the fuel consumption to see if you can live with it then make your mind up!
There were actually some of these built with a 6-speed manual, but if you wait for one of those to come along then you may be waiting quite a while. Like Funnybear said maybe you're better off looking at the smaller models as loads of 3-series ALPINAs were manuals.
One good thing I can see this will bring about is that there'll be no more "playing it safe" in 2nd / 3rd place, the drivers will have to stop pussying about on the bottom steps of the podium and push to get to the front which has the potential to be vaguely interesting.
Always been well into my Tamiyas, must have had about 20 different models over the last 5 years (not at the same time, obviously). Once I got bored of one I'd just trade it for another that took my fancy and keep going...
I raced them for a while, mainly 1/10 eleccy indoor but had so many breakages I gave up with that. I also got invited by a friend to race his 1/8th IC RallyX buggy at his offroad track. This was brilliant fun, and a certain L.Hamilton was there on the day racing too. If I hadn't run out of petrol in one of my heats, I've have had the chance to stand next to him and race against him! But as it happened, I got to go against his brother instead. Was fun!
I think it's a very good looking car and actually like it in green.
When I was at the Nurburgring back in April last year, we saw a test mule for one of these. It was based on the pre-facelift version (the same as the asbo ST model). The most interesting thing was that after a queek peek underneath it, we saw it had a rear diff with the housing for what must have been a propshaft going up to the front. The car was covered in wires and little sensors, presumably getting all sorts of telemetry and technical data as they hounded round the Grune Holle.
So it's not like they never thought of making it 4WD, from what we saw they did extensive testing with a 4WD one but decided FWD was the way...
How the hell... he must have been going what seemed like at least 30mph too fast into that corner if not more. I think it's Steve Sutcliffe beside him, he knew straight away they were "going over"... bet he wasn't that impressed.
EDIT: Flyethemoon, was that chicane on the actual track or on an escape road?
