RAE, I thought this section would be more appropriate but you're probably right, Off Topic might get more views but I don't want to start another thread for it.
MadCat, don't worry. If I win this I'm not just going to sit back and rest on my laurels thinking "Well this is it, I've made it". I'll do what it takes.
I don't see how it's cheating, the guy organising the competition sent an email to all the entrants suggesting ways to get more votes and posting on forums was one of the methods he suggested, along with Facebook. Thanks anyway!
There's a Shootout that's been set up for young, aspiring racing drivers (like myself) to go head-to-head through a series of driving / racing challenges, the winner of which will get a free season in Formula BMW, and if all goes well GP2 and then, possibly, F1. The problem is it cost £9k to enter this shootout, which we don't have.
Luckily, this website below is offering 3 drivers a chance to enter the shootout for free. The 3 drivers with the most votes by the end of September will get free entry to the Shootout. This is where you come in...
Enter your email address below the black box at the top of the page and click vote. You'll then get an email from the website within which is a link, click that to validate your vote. If you can't see the email in your inbox, check your junk folder.
I'm looking to make a career in Motorsport but realistically, unless we win the lottery, there's not much chance. This may be my only hope of moving up to the higher levels in the sport. I'd really appreciate it if any of you could spare the time it takes, and pehaps get friends to do the same, to vote for me.
Thanks very much in advance guys, much appreciated.
We are offering 3 randomly selected people who have voted for me free passenger laps in my race car at a track day, driven around at race speed by myself. All you have to do is forward the confirmation email you received after voting to prize @ alexgassman.com (remove the spaces) If you voted from 10 different accounts and as a result have 10 different confirmation emails, you can forward each of the emails to the above address from the accounts you voted with. So the more times you vote, the more confirmation emails you'll have, and the more chance you have of winning one of the three passenger rides!
Yeh he's picked up some great pace recently. I don't think Plato was best impressed with being hounded (and walloped) by Nash lap after lap in the last race, but he'll have to get used to it!
Yeh that was silly by Plato, Herbert had given plenty of room to Gio (I think it was him) and then Jason barges his way in and uses Jonny as a brake, silly.
Best drive of that race, for me, goes to Stephen Jelley for getting between Gio and Colin just when it was needed.
Good race that first one, good move by Mat Jackson to get passed Collard, same with Plato and James Nash following him through. Shame Turkington could only beat Gio by one place, you can always rely on Gio to come through the field and make up a bunch of places.
Good old Jonny Herbert, he makes me laugh and nice to see him have a scrap with Andrew Jordan at the end. I hope, now he's be broken-in, he can start moving up the field in the next two races...
Yep, like I said on page 4 it'll be interesting to see how well he goes. He said he's hoping for a podium or even a race win, I wonder if he'll be able to cut it in the door-handling world of the BTCC?
Let him express it, yes, but sometimes it's just not needed. R3DMAN's made a post about his new car, he obviously loves it to bits and wants to share it with everyone. I know I'd want to do the same if it was mine. And to then have some pratt come along and slag off your pride and joy by saying it's a piece of crap without any real justification is completely pointless and pathetic.
R3DMAN, very very nice car, looks great with black wheels. Bet it handles sweeeeet!
