This is what I drive around in. It's a pretty much stock '03 Focus 2.0l. Blueflame, you thought that Mondeo was bad, well this is 'only' ~125bhp from 2000cc Still goes very well though, we did a track day in it a while back, took all the rear seats / carpet out, put EBC pads and hi-temp fluid in it and went Caterham bashing, was good fun!

Can I ask why? PM me if you like. I met him a while back, seemed like a very genuine guy and obviously very talented, he'd just won Star Mazda in the US...

Quote from JJ72 :

on a race track most of the time you can gently roll to a halt, unless you are so unfortunate to be in one of the main braking areas - then whatever you do is helpless.

Surely that is when you first realise brake failure occurs - when you actually go to use them for a stop but nothing's there? If it happened to me in the MR2 I'd like to think I'd yank the handbrake, change down a couple of gears and aim for something soft (tyre wall over armco) but if it actually happened, I guess it comes down to reflexes and how rational you can be in a situation like that. This is why I absolutely admire the driver in this next clip - he suffered brake failure at one of the worst possible times yet managed to react in such a way which undoubtedly saved the lives of some spectators.

Someone saw him in a shopping centre in the US, doing a bit more than just giving presents...

Went to Reading today, they'd had a good 5 or so inches of snow there, was good fun! Then got home to a rainy Guildford, lovely.

I wouldn't say it sucks them out of karts way too early. Some of them may have been keen to race GT cars rather than Formula 1, and if that's the case then getting into cars as soon as possible can only be a good thing. Besides, you can start racing karts from, what, 8 years old? And you can compete in the Ginetta Juniors from 12-17 (correct me, that's a rough guess), so you could have at least 4 years of karting experience, probably a couple more.

Of course they haven't had the chance to race the 'professionals over in Europe', half of them are barely teenagers. Give them a chance!

Quote from Intrepid :Anthony Davidson - "Top-Level Karting is the closest motorsport formula to F1" (off record he said that his karting days made F1 driving feel like a "walk in the park")

So you agree he's trying to tell us that karting is closer to F1 than, say, F3, F2 or GP2 is? And that he found F1 driving easy because he spent a bit of time in karts? Not because he spent a good few years in other single seaters - Formula Ford, Formula Renault and F3?

I'm not saying he's talking complete cowpat, but it just makes no sense. How can driving something that does less than half the speed of an F1 car, with no downforce, no pitstops and less G-forces be closer to F1 than a GP2 car?

Ah ok ta will do that. Can't for the life of me work out how to register - I tried filling in the form form the RSCenter interface but it always gives me some form of error message - number is reserved, login name is taken, email address is taken, despite me changing all of these.

Managed to get it working (just gave the disk a clean). Like others have said the '95 Scooby is brilliant, by far the best of the one's I've tested. Paddys is a nice stage, too.

I can't get those BTB or BXB or whatever they are stages to work though?

Quote from mcintyrej :Check in the root folder of your RBR install and see if there's a .reg file called "Install.reg". Run that and then try installing.

The RBR folder got deleted when I unistalled it so that won't work. When I say it got deleted, that was thanks to me being the PC-whizz-kid I am

Just downloaded it and it said to uninstall RBR before installing this mod. So I did this. Now it says to install the original RBR again but I can't get my PC to recognise the CD in the drive for some reason. No auto-run pops up, and if I got to the CD drive from My Computer it shows it as being empty. Any ideas?

I used to play this before I found LFS. None of the cars in it where anywhere near realistic. It was more of a screenshot generator than a sim.
