Dont compare Daytona with KY2 simply because it has an oval section. The problem of KY2R is that exept theoval section that'snot sucha perfect trakformulticlas racing. T1-3 complex is tricky and there is only on line. Even after T4 you have kink and things can go wrong there as well. I prefer not to talk about the last hairpin complex.

Main difference with Daytona is that DP brakes later than GTs, GT2 in LFS brakes later than GT1 sothey have to pass on the straight really which is something some ppl fails to understand in Super GT.

Quote from Bmxtwins :I agree with deko, ky2r for a 24 hr will be fine and its a track where overtaking can easily happen between classes and hopefully not result in early dnf's. Would mind ky2 but t1 to t2 is a bit dangerous.

From the experience I had in Super GT, it was actually the worse with GT500 drivers trying to get pass through some corners where you can't make it. i.e last hairpin complex or between t1 and t3. Plus that T1 is really retarded.

I quite agree with Dennis about AS6, AS4 and AS5 with that T1 are much more interesting ! And well 12h or 24h there are sort of LFS classics.

Why not doing KY3 again for the 24hrs? I mean this track is perfect for a 24hrs event.

Vehicle physics can lag also. When the model starts to be complex (i.e. complex kinematic) it can cause lag. Ofc that depend of how you model it but at the end of the day, DiL simulator or running awesome computer not because of CAD model but because of physics.

In LFS community there is actually few that can create a quite good vehicle model...The problem can be somewhere else, I don't know how LFS have been design in term of implementing new vehicle models but that may be an issue.

Quote from Töki (HUN) :Hmm I missed the last few hours. When I stopped watching Merc and Porsche were so damn close. What happened to the Porsche that they finished 1 lap behind?

power steering died and it did last few laps with 5 cylinders.

Quote from ACCAkut :There is a lot of discussion, but most ideas regarding track safety on the public road bits boiled down to the fact that those roads are used as normal roads for ~350 days a year, and only for two races (24h and some motorcycle race). Residents don't want to have stuff in front of their gardens thats more or less useless in normal traffic. And for years it worked OK like this.

Now with Alans death I hope they do bigger changes. Some simple tire barriers might have done the trick

They already do have some barrier all year in front of their house, but when you buy an house their, you already know that and accept to live with it. To be honest the main problem is that Le Mans is 13.629 km long and that's an "old school" track.

When rumors comes from marshalls, drivers on the radio and doctors, that starts to be credible. You would be really astonished if you knew what really happened sometimes ^^

Quote from Dennis93 :not really, different angle of impact, way different speed the initial way he lost the car was somewhat exaggerated, whilst Allan's was a wet curb, this was a overcorrection.

+1

Allan's one was lateral G mainly + hitting a tree which doesn't absorb any energy.

@Deggis : You would be impressed how fast rumors are broadcasted through the whole pitlane ! Faster than Audi change an alternator !

Just to mention, track was wet at Tertre rouge on lap 2, on that last amateur video you can see my car spinning out few seconds before Simonsen (#43 Morgan Judd LMP2).

He was just really unlucky to lost it that way at to hit the barrier exactly where there is one of those 5 stupid trees that are next to the track at the begining of Mulsanne straight. Btw everyone in the pitlane knew it was serious as they stopped the CCTV camera one minute after the crash. It took them 3 SC lap to remove Simonsen from his car and some rumors states that he actually died because of a stroke on the impact (75g maximum lateral deceleration).

That's just a reminder of how motorsport is dangerous, this year was really a difficult race with a lot of drizzles which makes the track really slippery. I haven't seen so many crashes during qualifying for quite a while.

Btw that wing looks like a Le mans low drag configuration

I predict it will begin his career at Petit Le Mans this year...

DP formula is so old school, those teams should start to live in 2013 and have proper race car. To be honest LMP2 isn't that expensive and the same Peter Baron said one year ago that his DP programm was nearly as expensive as the WEC one !

An LMP2 cost 400,000€ and an ELMS season is about 200,000€ to 300,000€per driver (2 drivers). That's cheaper than a go-kart european championship season and much cheaper than Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup.

At Imola only one LMP2 was faster on straight than GTE, I doubt it is suitable to slow down LMP2.

Interesting, Deko why is the signal from on board cams received by helicopter rather than a system of antenna?

Is it because of the length of the track or the fact that's in the middle of a forrest?

Was quite a good race for Vires until last hour-ish Thanksfully Tomek and Arttu bring home a nice win with pole, best lap and impressive pace so wasn't such a bad race . Did love to see that sort of endurance back where a lot of strategy are possible ! See you for round 2 !

Quote from Mysho :When I had my period back in 2008 I would definitely try... But oh my god, it's so pointless. Being first in sim, sim that is forgotten by its own devs and that a lot of people don't even know. You put amazing amount of time to some silly hotlap, you get nothing. (Well ok, you get respect of fellow LFSers, but that is again nothing after some time)

I hate to say, but this system is kinda old fashioned. It was cool 5 years ago, but it's kinda stuck at what it is now. Just nothing at all, no prize, no article, not really something you will get for being first. Just this respect of some sort of people... Not enough.

Well get your point and somehow it makes sense. However have to say that lower irl motorsport championship - club championship - are sort of the same. Who have ever heard of british 750 motorsport club races for example apart people involved on it? At the end of the day I assume that's more the competition spirit you have that will give you the motivation to do.

As you are already around for quite a while the lack of development just killed all the motivation. Can find the same thing with really early hotlappers that left LFS even before early 2009, however some new people were always here to take over. That's just not the case anymore. Still get some new good hotlappers, some quality one with Marus, ilbens, Joonas, Isaac or Matti (and others) but less than before which isn't helpful to motivate someone and increase that competition spirit.
