I don't think LYTe offers Z-positioning, neither does LFS's integrated layout editor. What you can do is modify the files in a hex editor, see LFS.net for the LYT file format.

But what's the point? You can't use layouts anyway

Quote from logitekg25 :i cant get lfs to display on both moniters

does it need to be windowed?

On Vista and 7, yes, unless you've got an Eyefinity-capable ATI card or use SoftTH.

My guess is that the position of the light source is changed to illuminate the player model. Keen observation and a real bug for a change

Quote from NotAnIllusion :add ports 63392 and 29339. Both TCP and UDP.

Only the server port, opening 29339 (master server) is not necessary (unless that happens to be the port you're hosting on).
The server port is the one you set in the "Port" field of the "Start new host" screen, 63392 is the default setting.

Or maybe he's referring to the over 360 markup errors, quite pathetic with the already loose transitional standard

Same bit depth and sample rate as the original notify.wav?

Quote from brandons48 :You should atleast crop off the parts that are empty :/ Looks kinda funny

I know, but that way someone really, really bored can add a second car
morpha

Well I was bored enough to give it a shot:

Beware, full res is quite large!

The original idea was to include a second car, but as I went about setting it up, I figured getting the lighting right would be way more work than I was willing to put into it.
So final entry, 'cause I can't be bothered to finish it

Quote from matijapkc :Why he would do that? Maybe he has no money.

Anyone with an LFS demo compatible computer and internet connection can afford an S2 licence.

Quote from Nathan_French_14 :Sorry but you will not get any help here. No one will believe you are running an older version of LFS to get the XRT.

He didn't say XRT, XR GT is the XRG.

slipandslide, the XRG is naturally aspirated so even if you trim the sample to the correct duration, you couldn't assign it to the BOV since there is none.

Quote from ADX.14 :So what? As Scawen stated before LFS' priority isn't wow effect. And I can't see the purpose of your criticism. Lynce is spending a lot of time and effort in order to make LFS more attractive. We need Lynce's appetite for LFS.

I wasn't criticising, I was elaborating on what I think was PioneerLv's inital impression, which I share. There are some fairly promising projects out there attempting to recreate the real sky and even those come nowhere near the real thing, despite very accurate wheather simulation with all its visual effects, 3D clouds, variable density fog and whatnot. Here's an example

Clear skies are boring in virtual environments because they lack the volume the real sky has. There are no details to behold, the track surface and run off areas are tiled textures, as are walls and windows, in fact almost everything. Ontop of that, the sky is a static texture. It's just a boring combination, no matter how well the sky texture is made

Or maybe he was still using the RC, which by now annoys its users into buying the retail version by shutting down 2 hours after booting

Quote from rotarydream :problem resolved(profiler).

new problem.

reverse gear wont work. it goes to 5th gear on both sides, and neutral in the middle.

Go to
Profiler -> Device -> Game Controllers... -> Logitech G25 Racing Wheel USB -> Properties
and see if the shifter works there, if it doesn't, welcome to the club

There are two potis and a tiny PCB with a switch on it at the bottom of the shifter assembly, your problem is most likely the yellow wire on the lateral poti, which also switches the reverse gear switch.
It's a simple fix if you're handy with the soldering iron.

Quote from Becky Rose :so getting that information when it's not your host would be difficult, although i'd hazard with some research you could probably get the IP of most of the major hosts and from there do a port scan.

When you're connected to the host, it's no problem at all. netstat is your friend

There is no direct connection between the clients, you'd have a very hard time obtaining other clients's IP addresses and clients cannot flood other clients via InSim. The host, however, could induce a deliberate desync (OOS).

Takes incredible timing though to hit the rear half just so that the front turns into the lorry... Anyway, if he has stopped screaming yet, the Clio driver can tell the whole story
morpha

I'd imagine the Clio driver somehow ended up trapped infront of the lorry at an intersection, the lorry driver did not realize this when the lights switched to green and just went, probably thinking the subtle "bump" when he picked up the Clio was just a rough gearchange.

If you can't imagine him being unable to see the car, go sit in your own car and check how much of your bonnet you can see from your normal driving position, now imagine the same without a nose infront and much higher. The space the nose would occupy if the lorry had had one was occupied by the Clio, I reckon you could put 3 Clios there (1 adjacent to the one in the video and one ontop) and you'd still be unable to see them from inside the lorry cab.

Quote from Fuse5 :wtf lol? guess you dont know much about photography. or physics.

Right back at you, the ground is blurred quite a bit suggesting comparatively long exposure, so the wheels should be blurred as well. It'd be less obvious (less obvious, but still incorrect!) from right above as you wouldn't be able to see the wheels, just the tread. From the perspective Xedos01 chose, you can see the right side wheels, as well as the side walls, obviously.

Quote from mrodgers :Imagine the great fuel mileage he's getting on his work commute.

Yeah and it's wet so the tyres might have survived. It's a Clio, so the right side panels and doors should be cheap as chips, certainly cheaper than the fuel he would have used!

Why'd you include it in the screenshot? Either crop the shot in your image editing software, or better, Alt+PrintScreen to take a screenshot of just the active window.
