FIA really under estimated the power of whats possible from the turbo engines combined with ERS, considering the extra weight they are definetly pulling more power then with the V8s, 800-850hp is around whats happening now.
All compounds are significantly harder then last years equilivents.
I would say around seasons 6-9 back when the crazy stuff looked more genuine. And there was a balance of useful information still in the show.
James may still did the used car segment in season 2 & 3, honestly I think it was around season 4 when it started to push to another direction, before that it wasn't that serious but it was still very factual.
So magnussen just set a time 2.6 secs off last years pole time at Bahrian(and only 1.2 secs down what Button did in qualifying at that race too).

The zenvo review was moronic to say the least, 1100hp rwd in the rain is always going to end badly but it would of been a really good lap to see if it was in the dry.

Not entirely, there are plenty of segments of the show that could be changed to embrace world culture, but the show tries it utmost to stay British, which wouldn't happen on a non BBC show for sure.

Theres something awfully german feeling about Mclarens supercars(they seem to be made properly).
Its a good thing though because they don't have that half done british look to them.that you get compared to other british cars of the past.

Given his form in GT and plenty of FWD rally experience i would say he has a good chance to do well, beating muller would make him the best driver in history of any disapline but i think if they car is good he can get regular podiums.

Fair to say at this rate BTCC is getting back to full greatness, WTCC can't fill stands anywhere near as full as whats happening in Britian right now, and the driver line up is starting to improve as well.
