we are interested in implementing a limited setup system (for road cars - not just the VW)

If this thread (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=279) is where you got the easy race setups (helps if you link the thread, can't remember them all..), then 1) they are outdated and 2) have the wrong naming convention which is why you can't see them. In other words, forget about them.

You can find setups here: http://setupgrid.net/

P.S. Do all submariners have this defeatist attitude.

Physics haven't changed for quite a while, so without looking I would say yes.

It's not just the FZ2 though, XFG setups are still locked diff, huge front bar, minimal rear bar and very little oversteer from springs. I guess it's down to several factors coming together to create a significant effect. Tyre load sensitivity, somewhat incomplete damper implementation, lack of anti-dive/squat, simple aero (I still see a lot of high-downforce cars running obvious amounts of -ve rake.. wtf) etc. Due to a combination of things, unrealistic values may provide similar or better results..

Amazing to see Mr. Sauber get a bit emotional and what an exceptional F1 race. Now if Koba were to up his game a bit as well..

Damage, no. Temperature, not "live". Closest would probably be "Air temperature" in "Dynamic Wheel Info" in a RAF. http://www.lfs.net/?page=RAF

Suprisingly good performances by Williams, Sauber & STR. Shame we didn't get to compare Räi's and Grosjean's race pace. Lame safety car, superb last lap

You need a recording application such as Fraps, WeGame or Xfire in order to make videos out of replays. Probably some video editing software and codecs that allows you to encode compressed video files too, one such is VirtualDub.

Well, fuvk a duck. I'm not particularly fond of open wheelers so I'd have preferred it to be Commodore cup or some other tin top development / support series. This is good news though, maybe he'll play a guitar tune too on the podium ;D

Can't remember exactly how the SP starting grid works, but I guess you're referring to loading up the grid in the exact player order every time. This would be highly unreliable in multiplayer unless you know you'll have the same people on every time.

You can use the start=finish/random/reverse in-game with a chat command too, but outside of that you will need to look into using InSim's grid reorganisation features.
// IS_REO : REOrder - this packet can be sent in either direction

// LFS sends one at the start of every race or qualifying session, listing the start order

// You can send one to LFS before a race start, to specify the starting order.
// It may be a good idea to avoid conflict by using /start=fixed (LFS setting).
// Alternatively, you can leave the LFS setting, but make sure you send your IS_REO
// AFTER you receive the SMALL_VTA (VoTe Action). LFS does its default grid reordering at
// the same time as it sends the SMALL_VTA and you can override this by sending an IS_REO.

struct IS_REO // REOrder (when race restarts after qualifying)
{
byte Size; // 36
byte Type; // ISP_REO
byte ReqI; // 0 unless this is a reply to an TINY_REO request
byte NumP; // number of players in race

byte PLID[32]; // all PLIDs in new order
};

Or features built into InSim addons such as Airio.

Conceptually a fine idea, but with both the physics and content being (and having been) stagnant for a while, I can't help but feel it would make more sense to combine it with the next major update.

Another season of Voderphone / Whincup domination, and Lowndes being fast but prone to all sorts of mishaps..

Good first race, shame Davison didn't get to race till the end. On another note, I watched the Aussie race cars development race. They're bonkers!
